Mary Jane is slang for weed, but yeah, I still vote to pull since the trope is about characters behaving like stoners and Shaggy doesn't really look like one in this specific image.

"It was the best of times, it was the BLURST of times?"
That is the first time I hear of that. I think that just reinforces the pull because aside from what you mentioned, it depends on cultural slang to make sense (I'm not American).
I've heard from somewhere (not just here) that Shaggy kinda does look like a stoner (and I kinda see it myself as well).
But photo doesn't show that at all so yeah, pull.

Currently semi-active.Okay uh... Would Fillmore from Cars 1 be a clearer and more succinct example?

I think it checks off a lot that the trope asks for; stoner-like look, bright colors, general visual association with hippies, the character himself is a hippie van and even shows up as an image result when you search "hippie van".
EDIT: Turns out the character himself is also the face of Hippie Van... Will there be duplication issues even though this is an entirely different shot?

Hey, I was the one who uploaded the original image, so I'll take responsiblity for it; I overestimated how many people got the "Mary Jane" thing. With that being said, for the record, I do want to propose a new image that might work better:
This is the other one I was considering when I uploaded the image, and it's also from the 2002 Scooby-Doo movie: the joke is that Shaggy and Scooby are baking sandwiches, yet everything about the room and the smoke suggests they are smoking weed.
If not this one, than 6.2 is a
.

I guess I’ve become something of an icon.Unfortunately, to me it just reads more like they're hanging out in a random room, aside from many different elements meshing together it also clearly looks like sandwich-making and doesn't seem to allude to weed at all; to connect it to smoking marijuana feels like it would be quite the stretch in this case. That said even if Shaggy is said to look like a stoner, it doesn't feel particularly visually strong here.
I prefer 6.2 for being much more minimal which allows it to focus on the "stoner but not really" aspect.

6.2's good. I was going to pitch something from the Frasier episode where Martin eats a pot brownie and gets high as a result but it'd take about three or four images of showing his behavior for it to fit the trope. 6.2 gets it in two.
Wuewuewuewuewueing my way to the bank.
6.2. 11 feels more like a G-Rated Drug gag, as where 6.2 shows the stoner behavior
Calling for 6.2. It's in and tagged; caption?
Old pic:

There's nothing in the image implying a G-Rated Stoner. All I see is two characters having a conversation where one person is being a bit goofy or an oddball and neither the dialogue nor the caption tell me anything. If anything, the caption seems to imply that the image relies on the reader getting some sort of reference.
