Eyelashes on a cat are better than nothing regarding showing its gender, but I see absolutely nothing that indicates what the dog's gender is supposed to be, so pull.
Ready to rock?I'm probably just being dumb since I just woke up, but how could the dog's gender be shown in a... family-friendly way? The closest I could think of would be to show a dog with a mustache or beard maybe, but that doesn't really make a ton of sense to me? I dunno.
Either way, I personally think the Tertiary Sexual Characteristics on the cat make the current perfectly fine.
How about this? The dog and the cat are both wearing gendered clothing, plus the cat is pink.
Source is BoJack Horseman.
The caption could point out that they are named Princess Carolyn and Mister Peanutbutter, which are also both gender-coded.

Fan-Preferred Couple cleanup threadThere's enough consensus for the concept, so
is in and tagged. Caption?

I'd prefer something a bit more wittier. Maybe:
Okay I know this is unusual but personally I think this one resolved a little too fast as it being over in 6 hours means people in some time zones didn't get the chance to chip in.
I don't like 4, this is a trope mainly about non anthropomorphic characters with anthropomorphic ones as a less common variation.
Possible suggestion that's more animals than humanlike:

Well, does not effectively illustrate.
The pic on Female Feline, Male Mutt, even after a quality upgrade, does not really demonstrate the feminity of the cat vs. the masculinity of the dog. You can see the eyelashes, but that's really it. Combined with the caption, it borders on JAFAAC.
No other suggestions ATM.
