Pull.
It's worth noting that before the Wind Waker image was picked, this was the image beforehand. A lot of people were saying that the blood "doesn't look like blood", but that feels like a red paint argument to me.

. If I remember correctly, it was changed for being a duplicate of NightmareFuel.Kirby, which has a different image now.
My only concern there is that I couldn't really see Kirby very easily. But it's still a solid suggestion.

it's obviously not red paint and it's just a better picture than current

I have to agree an argument like this is very, very red-painty; it might look like paint, but then what about the eyeball and the red blob coming out of the eyeball's hole and emitting this "paint"? With the visual clues, I think it's pretty easy to insinuate that the red stuff is likely blood because that's what typically appears when you wound an organic body part; why would a living creature be bleeding paint of all things?
The reason it might not be shaped like blood is because this is a pixel art game on Super Nintendo aimed at kids, released during an era where games like Street Fighter (or, at least, Street Fighter II) were censored on Super Nintendo due to blood and violence — it couldn't get any more realistic because then it would've most likely been censored/removed. So the final product skirts the line enough to not be too violent to be allowed while still keeping true to what it's supposed to be.
Those have been my two cents.

Exactly my thoughts. Why would "paint" be coming out of a gaping, red hole on a creature?
I've got one:

Crown Description:

Without the context of seeing it in motion, the current page image doesn't seem age-inappropriate — it's just Bloodless Carnage with a character wincing in pain. If the sword had gone straight through him, that might be disturbing, but right now it's ambiguous enough that it almost looks like an Amusing Injury.
