Weak Keep Until Better Image Suggested for me. If I squint my eyes, I can discern that he might be the same guy, and I personally didn't have trouble noticing the cut off hand.

Any reason why? I already mentioned why I thought it didn't illustrate; I have no idea who this character is and the image does not show me the "haughty" or "the haughty has been broken" part, all I see is a guy with and without a sword and the caption doesn't help much, at a glance it looks a lot like some warrior who got old and retired because he lost the ability to use a sword at some point. It just looks like a before vs. after thing and even the offered explanation admitted it relied on knowing the work.
EDIT: New post popped up in the midst of me writing one.
EDIT 2: Here's a suggestion from Samurai Jack, which is also size compliant (I have just noticed the current image is too small). I've tried to find something that showed the "haughty" part better and how the "haughty" gets broken.

Not sure about current nor 5. The latter can be confused for Defeat by Modesty.
Hmm if so, then I wonder if 5 might be a better fit for Defeat by Modesty than that article's current as a size-compliant image and doing it with fewer panels. The idea was that in the first image you see a smug guy facing a smaller stoic guy and holding a sword, then in the next one his smug face is gone and he's shown to have been humbled through humiliation.
How about one of these (Jaime standing tall or threatening someone vs him broken and bloodied):

I'm really not seeing the "haughty" part still — the images sadly don't seem to show off the arrogance and probably borders on JAFAAC. The second panel in both looks more like he's taking a bath.
I don't know. He looks pretty arrogant threatening someone and his body language in the second panel sells the broken aspect personally.
I'll have to disagree. When I think "arrogant", I think "full of oneself" — threatening to kill someone doesn't come across as arrogance to me, it reads more like an act of hostility or evil. Instead of "this guy has an ego", I'm getting "this guy is willing to murder people". The second image doesn't really show the body language because most of his body is hidden away and what is visible doesn't convey a meaningful message. Overall I really feel the suggestions are heavily depending on being familiar with the character.

Seems like an animated or hand-drawn work would do a better job illustrating this trope than a live-action work if showing the "haughty" part is an issue. That being said, 5 looks more like a case of Defeat by Modesty, so
to that.

Wuewuewuewuewueing my way to the bank.Huh... now I can't decide which one I like the most in 16. Although the second panel in the first and last one is fucking horrifying to look at ngl. But I can at least tell now this is some vain/arrogant character who loses their vanity.
to 16.2 or 16.4
Not really fond of 16.1 and 16.5, as it looks (to me) just like she's been killed and dumped in the mud. (I haven't watched the film, but I presume that doesn't happen.... right?)

There's too many men, too many people, making too many problems

As noted in this post
: I legitimately cannot tell how the image illustrates the trope. Willbyr provided additional context but also noted it probably relies too much on knowing the character for the image to make sense. It actually took being told this additional context to even notice at all the character's hand was cut off and that the two are supposed to be the same people, but even so I don't see the "haughty" or "broken" part — the guy losing the ability to fight doesn't tell me anything about the character himself.
