As much I love Renamon I love actually think that the having a beautiful woman example is important to cover the shape-shifting element as Synch mentioned.
Funny you brought that up, since the aforementioned LD&R example includes beautiful women
◊ (not sure why I didn't mention that).

Here's my collage pitch:

- Top left: "pretty human + fox tail" type, a gumiho from the live-action K-Drama My Girlfriend Is a Nine-Tailed Fox
- Top right: Little Bit Beastly type, a male kitsune showing off a bit of flame magic from the otome VN Enchanted in the Moonlight
- Bottom right: cyborg version of a huli jing in 'fox form' from Love, Death & Robots
- Bottom left: an illustration of the Chinese historical figure Daji
by Hokusai [1]
◊, which fills the traditional-art niche while also showing the cultural crossover aspect
- Overall: 3/4 Eastern examples, 3/4 fox types mentioned in the description, 1 live action, both male and female examples represented, 4 different mediums — I think it's a pretty good spread.

I don't like the fact that three of them are mostly human, and the only one that isn't is a robot. This means that the image lacks both a normal vulpine example as well as an anthropomorphic one, while also having two different types of Little Bit Beastly (there isn't much difference between "human with tail" and "human with tail and fox ears" imo).

"This forum signature likes to refer to itself, as well as to the fact that it likes to refer to itself"
The bottom left one also shows a non-anthro fox, standing next to the lady. (One variation of the story is that the fox spirit pulled a Kill and Replace)
I suppose, but that's what the caption is for. I still think it's pretty good, and I don't think we should let perfect be the enemy of pretty good, but that's why we have these threads.

The fox being behind the lady puts it out of focus, so I called it "mostly human" because most of the pic is just a human woman
Although yeah I was wrong about the vulpine part, tho I still think we could have a more prominent example
I don't want a perfect pic, I just think it's better to use an image where the fox is at focus, plus I still don't like having two Little Bit Beastly examples

"This forum signature likes to refer to itself, as well as to the fact that it likes to refer to itself"Might as well throw out this pitch, which includes 1.2, 4.2, 8.7, and a new pic of Renamon. Think this has a good mix of actual foxes and Little Bit Beastly types.

That one is better, though I'd argue the right photos with A Little Bit Beastly look too identical. The Daiji example was a good example of a fox that takes human shape without showing traits, but definitely let's diversify the last slot.

Fair enough. How would this work? I replaced the last spot with the traditional drawing in 28. Also did a better crop of top left to make the fox traits more obvious.

What would you prefer for that spot, then?
I can kind of see how that might be hard to make out, but it seems clear that's supposed to be Renamon to me, at least (though that might just be because I found it). Want more consensus, thoughn
