It’s probably closer to early 90s. Because there’s a CD player.

You’re Gonna Carry That Weight. As someone born in the 80's who grew up in the 90's i'm completely fine with continuing the throwback train. Neon is a good aesthetic.

Don't worry, in a few decades when everybody making games grew up in the 2000s, there will be a lot of nostalgia for that decade despite it being a pretty horrible time to have grown up in with generally shit pop culture. And I'm a 2000s kid.

Once Upon A Time.
I had flash cartoons and how everything was obsessed with being Darker and Edgier (Twilight Princess is probably the one big success story from the 2000s of it actually working) in mind. But also those.
Honestly, '50s, '60s-'70s and '80s are probably the post-WW 2 decades with the most distinct aesthetics associated with them (I admit my mind tends to jumble the aesthetics of the '60s-'70s a kit so someone with more a grasp on them could explain them better), and the '80s technology lends itself well on account of personal computers entering the public consciousness meaning you don't have to write around a lack of certain techs, just render them with a bulkier aesthetic.
Anyway really immersion-breaking product placement aside, I'm kinda hype. I can't resist getting to play space hero. I'm curious how well Naughty Dog will do with a melee-focused title since that's never really been the focus of their games except Jak & Daxter 1.
If this game has been in development since 2020, then having a Porsche ship is interesting because that's around the same time period that they designed a Star Wars ship in a collab with Lucasfilm
. I wouldn't be surprised if Naughty Dog saw that specific project and contacted them for Intergalactic.

I'll be cautious until the game comes out and see what the fandom thinks of it.
After the Last Of Us II, I'm going to be much more hesitant of being excited for anything Naughty Dog does. Neil Druckmann's Arrogant attitude doesn't help.
