While I do think Cartoon Creature is a fine, valid trope, I do have concerns that it may be suffering from a Missing Supertrope. What I mean is that one part of its description suggests that it's about a creature of indeterminate species being used for Rule of Cute, but other parts suggest it's just when a character's species is indeterminate or there's different/conflicting claims are given about a character's species, no Rule of Cute involved. Like, take King Dedede. I once noticed an instance where he had both Cartoon Creature and Ambiguous Species in his trope list (despite the fact they're actually the same trope), with the latter going into more into depth about the conflicting claims on whether he's a penguin or not. Overall, it suggests there actually is a supertrope to the whole "indeterminate creature played for Rule of Cute" idea. Do you think this trope suffers from a Missing Supertrope, or is it fine as is?

I sadly doubt he would like Popeyes, though...
