Started this thread for Synduality: Echo of Ada, the crown jewel of the nascent Synduality mixed media franchise (which also consists of the anime Synduality: Noir that was released last year and concluding this year, a manga tied to it titled Synduality: Ellie, it's novel adaptation, and three other novels; the latter five being Japan-only) by Bandai Namco.
Echo of Ada will be released January 23, 2025 per this video:
Now, as to what this game is about, I'll quote the game's US website
:
SYNDUALITY Echo of Ada takes place in 2222, years after a mysterious poisonous rain called The Tears of the New Moon wiped out most of humanity and birthed deformed creatures that now hunt the population. Amidst the calamity, humans build an underground haven named Amasia, where they discover and begin to collaborate with forms of artificial intelligence called Magus.
To paraphrase the rest of the link, men and women called Drifters travel across the post-Tears surface to find resources and to defend themselves against the creatures created by the Tears of the New Moon called Enders (and against each other over said resources), they use bipedal mecha called CRADLECOFFINs. Drifters have a robotic partner called Maguses (plural of "Magus"; not official but it's the best I can come up with and I've used "Magi" as an alternative) that not assist in using CRADDLECOFFINs, but exhibit unique abilities.
In short, it's an Player Versus Player extraction shooter (think Escape from Tarkov), but with mecha. This game, however, does have an actual story that, per this 4Gamer link
(which I got through Google Translate), can be unlocked as you progress through the game and which claims that Amasia collapsed (bit of a Late-Arrival Spoiler / Foregone Conclusion there; don't know why Bandai Namco didn't mention that bit). Below is the trailer to said story:
