So, in the Trope Launch Pad, an example I was given suffered from being a Wall of Text.

  • The Elder Scrolls:
    • In the series' Backstory, according to "heretical" in-game sources, Deity of Human Origin Talos is actually comprised of three ascended men, each of whom represent elements of the archetypes and are each one of the races of Men in Tamriel. Wulfharth Ash-King is the Warrior, an Eternal Hero who has died and come back to life at least three times, he is a Nord typically depicted wielding a Barbaric Battleaxe who was king of a Proud Warrior Race. Hjalti Early-Beard (the birth name of Tiber Septim) is the Rogue, a scheming master manipulator with a Compelling Voice who would have his king assassinated so he could take the throne instead and later ordered that Wulfharth be killed then soul-trapped, is a Breton who would become Founder of the Kingdom for the Third Tamriellic Empire. Zurin Arctus is the Mage, an Imperial serving as Court Mage to Septim, who soul-trapped Wulfharth (possibly fusing the two into the undying "Underking" being) and created the magical means for Septim to control Numidium to complete his conquest of Tamriel. According to official Imperial orthodoxy (which is rife with pro-Imperial Written by the Winners propaganda and known for giving Septim a Historical Hero Upgrade), none of this is true and Septim became Talos himself upon his death.
    • The Tribunal are a trio of formerly mortal Physical Gods worshipped by the Dunmer (Dark Elves) who each fit one of the categories. Almalexia is the Warrior, the "Warrior Queen" is a proud Mama Bear toward the race who wields a lightning sword and wears a scowling Rage Helm in battle, she was a much more direct Action Girl in the defense of her people such as when she banished the Daedric Prince of Destruction Mehrunes Dagon from her city of Mournhold (wrecking it in the process) and led the defense of Morrowind during the Akaviri invasion. Sotha Sil is the Mage, the "Wizard Mystic" is known for his creation of Magitek bordering on Schizo Tech (such as computer systems and cybernetic lifeforms in an otherwise fantasy medieval setting), while he also studied the Heart of Lorkhan and figured out how to tap into its power, allowing the Tribunal to ascend to godhood. Vivec is the Rogue, the "Child of Verse and Metaphor" is no slouch in battle (wielding his "spear" MUATRA), but prefers to outsmart opponents (such as tricking the four "bad" Daedric Princes throughout his 36 Lessons) and is a prolific (if unreliable) writer.

So to cut down on the bloat, I decided to make them all dot points.

However, it was pointed out by the example proposer that they were told to avoid breaking out the dot points back when Five-Man Band was editable and was wondering if I was violating markup policy trying to fix up the example.

Some people say I'm lazy. It's hard to disagree.

Yeah, by the rules, even with multi-part tropes you're not supposed to break them up into sub-bullets.

That said, there's no explicit rule against using line breaks, accomplished with the \\ markup.

Trust me, I'm an engineer!

Okay, fixing the TLP to fit this. I admit I was more focused on the third dot points part of the Example Indentation in Trope Lists page.

The most common term for dot point is bullet point.

Just a heads up in case others, including myself, use the term bullet point instead.
