Relationship Status: TV Tropes ruined my love life

Fanspeak articles do not need to have trope examples or lengthy descriptions. There's nothing wrong here. Closing.

Het is a locked, definition-only Fan Speak trope. In its entirety, the description just:
Sometimes abbreviated to 'het' when labeling fiction or when characterizing a relationship.
This was brought up to the TRS in 2020
for being extremely short and sounding more like a Useful Note (consider we have pages for Homosexual, Bisexual, Transgender, and Asexual), but it was immediately shot down and closed in one reply because "This is a Fan Speak definition, not simply a definition of "heterosexual"."
...Is it? This just says "het means heterosexual, and this is a thing that might happen in fanfic." I'm sorry, but how is that useful information, even as a Fan Speak definition? The description does nothing to establish this as being a fanfic-contextual term like Septimus Heap argued it was, nor is there anything here speaking against "het" simply being colloquial slang to describe heterosexuality in general. It just doesn't sound like this was given a fair shake in actual TRS discussion for why this isn't something that should be listed as a Useful Notes page, or given other substantial retooling.
If this page has to exist at all, it sounds like this absolutely needs more than just 3 extremely general and barely substantive sentences. Especially the definition of "sexually attracted only to the other gender" (nowadays it's way more understood that there are more gender identities than just "one or the other").
