The overlap is definitely a problem and if the complaining isn't as big of an issue we should probably still TRS due to the concept being covered

Though that may require comparing wicks...

Hmm, so taking the comments here into consideration, I might start the wick check with the following categories:

I/we'd be checking all 59 wicks if we do. Are the categories good? Any suggested alterations? Or should I even do a wick check?

Oh, I meant check wicks for the other tropes to compare usage. Sometimes that's easier than having "overlaps with..." folders even if it takes longer. I'd gladly do those checks lol

So essentially I'm proposing 3 checks, two of which we can use to cross-reference Pottery Barn Poor.

[up] I prefer to do "overlap with" myself, but we can check the 3 as well. Might be better actually — if there are unexpected problems with the other 3 they can also be identified.

EDIT: [nja]d a bit. We'd then have:

I suppose we can see how others feel before trucking on. I'm just not a fan of "overlaps with..." folders since they can be confusing unless you absolutely know the definitions of each trope and how such examples would be written. In this case I don't have confidence on it. If you do, though, then I'm sure you could pull off your original idea fine.

Count me in as someone who feels that the trope is redundant with Informed Poverty (and the latter trope has a much clearer name, to boot). (I was actually thinking of bringing them both up in the "duplicate tropes" thread.)

[up][up]I feel like, if you're looking to show that two tropes are duplicates, unless you're only counting the examples that are already listed under the trope it supposedly overlaps with, an "overlaps with" folder is a self-fulfilling prophecy, since you already consider the tropes to have the same definition so of course you're going to consider examples of one to also be examples of the other. Better to draw sufficiently fine distinctions so you can determine whether one page has a category of examples missing from the other or vice versa.

Huh yeah, we already have Informed Poverty after all. I was all for keeping the trope since media likes to do that thing where "this people are poor but we need them to do shenanigans!" but then Informed Poverty is there.
