Redhead boy rly thinks he can be an Ordinary High-School Student with hair like that.
Not really? Despite a lot of similarities, they do seem quite different?
For a start, gameplay wise this seems to be a strategy game, compared to ''Dangan Ronpa's" visual novel/puzzle game.
In terms of story, Hope's Peak was more like a dungeon the students were trapped in, this academy is more like a castle they need to defend.
At the very least, it does seem to be following the trend Kodaka's previous game Master Detective Archives: Rain Code established where it retains just enough of Danganronpa's Recurring Elements to make the new elements stand out more, or otherwise prey on expectations you have from being familiar with those elements in the first place.
Speaking of Kodaka, when making this post I went to double-check if he's attached or not: turns out it's both him and Uchikoshi (Zero Escape, AI) that're helming this one! And the rest of the team from both those series, of course.
🏳️⚧️she/her | Vio Rhyse AlberiaWell one thing that seems very Danganroppa-esque is the mention of unavoidable ally death. That's... Interesting to force in a SRPG.
Wondering if we get any say in who kicks the bucket via Sadistic Choice or it's all pre-scripted.
You are not alone.Too Kyo Games literally went into Debt to make this game, apparently. I'm scared just how absolutely insane the game is in terms of plot twists.
Watch SymphogearNow we wait for the inevitable sprite mod that swaps out that egg for Monokuma.
I don't want the world, I just want your half.Apparently the original mascot plan
was a raccoon. I wish they'd stayed with that; cartoony mascots are just impossible to take seriously.

squints What the hell did I just watch?
Well, whatever. It's good to know how gory this is going to get. Once I get un-suspended, I'll go to the page and remove the image caption; it's too optimistic.

"You'd betray your own team for me?" Oh, fuck.

I ship Takumi with Akane Kurashiki 2.0 mostly because of comphet. And I am okay with that.

There is no failure condition during life.
Maybe it will, maybe it will not.
Although i can say that i'm interested about the spoiler mechanic they talked about and if it appears in the trailer.
I think that i saw one student corrupted? There was also a black knight killing everyone apparently.
...They didn't hold back in showing everyone dying in the trailer, time travel? Bad ends?
Edit: Also, the release date is apparently april 24 2025, saw in the Nintendo Direct japanese trailer.

Karua (?) is giving me Chiaki vibes, adding to the million ways her narrative role already slates her for tragic death.

Cast photo from the Tokyo Game Show. I'm sure the dual lighting has no ominous meaning whatsoever!
