Princess Power is a Netflix CGI preschool show based on the book Princesses Wear Pant (written by Savannah Guthrie and Allison Oppenheimer, who are also executive producers on the show) that came out on January 30, 2023. Developed for television by Elise Allen (co-creator of Rainbow Rangers, and writer on Dinosaur Train, The Lion Guard, and many Barbie movies), and produced by Flower Films and Atomic Cartoons, the show follows four young princesses from fruit themed kingdoms called fruitdoms. The main four princesses are artist, fashionista, and musician Rita Raspberry from the raspberry fruitdom (voiced by Trinity Jo Li Bliss), animal lover Kira Kiwi from the kiwi fruitdom (voiced by Dana Heath), scientist Penny Pineapple from the pineapple fruitdom (voiced by Luna Bella Zamora), and sporty tomboy Bea Blueberry from the blueberry fruitdom (voiced by Madison Calderon) alongside Penny’s cat Miss Fussywiggles (voiced by Alanna Ubach). Whenever a situation arises, the four princesses ring their charm alarms and gather at The Punchbowl Treehouse on Punchbowl Island and go to wherever they’re needed in order to help the fruitizens out.

If you had to ask me what I think of the show, I'll say that I love it. I think what helps out is that there's a lot of charm to the show. Sure, it utilizes a specific formula (every episode title has the word princess in it) with simple morals, but it works because of how everything comes together. The characters are really likable and fun to be around. You have Rita being over the top and dramatic, but with a genuine maturity that makes her three dimensional. Kira is on the opposite end in how she's the most mature of the group, yet also just as willing to be involved with antics. Penny is someone who's very intelligent, but never to an insufferable degree given how she likes having fun. Bea is definitely the most wholesome tomboy character with how she likes sports yet also enjoys the same feminine things as her friends.

One thing I'm surprised with is how the remaining 7 episodes of season 3 have an arc of sorts. That's pretty rare for preschool shows, but it's pulled off well. It starts in "Princess Royal Wedding", which sees the wedding between Rita's mother Queen Ryung and Queen Olivia. This episode kick-starts the Crystal Key Quest arc so that the princesses can get into the faraway school known as Princess Adventure Academy and become better princesses. It's run by Headmistress Miranda Melon, who wants the girls to collect 6 special keys before she can let them in. This arc definitely utilizes its time well in having a clear end goal, but still telling stories through an episodic format. It's honestly my favorite season of the show.
