Tangentially related to the franchise, on the same day it's been announced that Activision, Meta, and Daniel Defense (Makers of the AR-15) are being sued by parents of the Uvalde School shooting
for their role advertising firearms to the shooter.
A similar tactic was tried a few years ago with now-defunct Remington by the parents of Sandy Hooks, and Remington settled for 73 million.
Hopefully this kind of stuff puts a wedge between game developers and gun manufacturers.

This strikes me as a repackaging of the tired "video games cause violence" bullshit meant to deflect blame away from deeply rooted flaws in our society. I personally find the notion of Call of Duty and gun advertising being responsible, rather than the easy availability of firearms, preposterous. The shooter had a history of animal abuse and making
violent threats on social media yet was still allowed to buy assualt weaponry. Though it would be practically impossible to sue the NRA, so perhaps they went with an easier scapegoat.

It's a pretty goofy lawsuit if you actually check it. They claim call of duty is a "realistic simulating of killing" and groomed him into a killer.
Call of duty which features jet packs and anime characters....
"That's right mortal. By channeling my divine rage into power, I have forged a new instrument in which to destroy you."Reagan mentionned, we're playing as a black guy...
Will this finally be the game where we see this
button prompt?
I know this might not be the most appropriate place to ask this but would it be okay to place an Anachronism Stew entry on it's page?i know the game hasn't been release yet but the trailer uses Firestarter by the Prodigy which only came out in 1996 but the game is set in 91. P.S. Do you think the story may have levels set in the Yugoslav/Balkan conflicts?

~miraculous i was just asking, since Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War also has the songs featured in the trailers in their entry. It's the very first mention in it too

All modes, including single player, will always be online due to 'texture streaming'.
300 gigs in size is apparently not enough.
Man am I glad I stopped touching the COD games long time ago (save for the MW 1 reboot, out of curiosity). The games are simply becoming technologically impractical.
The Ghosts team proudly showed off their "fish ai" in marketing, when that had been done in Super Mario 64 before, that's not a first for the franchise

The newest entry in the Black Ops series was announced
.
They've' already done a viral marketing campaign called The Truth Lies.
It's of course being developed by Treyarch.
