Not entirely sure if this goes here, but whatever.

So I'm currently working on a page and I have folders for all the characters; I want to add images to those folders of said characters. How do I do that? I'm still not too familiar with the mechanics of this site & whatnot

If you're wondering how to upload images: select "Upload Image" while in Edit Mode or while creating a forum post. From there, you can upload the image file you want. When uploaded (in Edit Mode; this does not apply to uploading on forums), you will receive the URL of the image pre-formatted. To provide a random example, here's what's the image on Ally McBeal looks like in Edit Mode:

[[quoteright:350:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/ally_mcbeal_cast.jpg]]

[[caption-width-right:350:The cast in 1998.]]

  • The upper half is the image itself; the lower half is the image caption.

  • "https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/ally_mcbeal_cast.jpg" is the image file's URL.

  • "quoteright" indicates that it will appear on the right side of the page. "quoteleft" is an option, but it's never used on this wiki (as far as I'm aware of). "caption-width-right" is the same, but for the caption.

  • "350" determines the number of pixels wide the image will be displayed as. While 350px is the default, note that images can't be displayed any wider on articles.

Images in Wiki Pages goes into more detail, but note that it's somewhat outdated (it states all images get resized to 350px wide upon uploading, but images can now go up to 1000px).

back lol
