Updating this thread due to news from today's Frontier Unlocked stream:
WE HAVE FINALLY AFRICAN LEOPARD OFFICIALLY IN THE GAME!!! The African Big Five is finally complete, and animal from my wishlist that I wanted to see in the game but others didn't wanted due to believing that they want more "unique" animals over "clones" officially joins the roster, just like it was with the wisent in the "Eurasia Animal Pack"! Here's
the leopard.
We also get official teaser
into what looks like to be Mountain Animal Pack with Pallas cat, markhor and Hamadrayas baboon. Honestly I prefer Olive baboon over the Hamadrayas one (even though I like both baboons, but the Olive one is THE baboon for me), and Pallas cat and markhor weren't on my list of most wanted animals, but I'm still for those that wanted them. I wonder what other animals will be in the pack. Maybe yak and chamois, two mountain ungulates that are on my wishlist? Well, we will just have to wait and see. And I will inform you of any news fellow Planet Zoo fans.
I know I'm responding to your post a little late, but I'm glad someone responded to this thread!
I also didn't know that you play this game.
Anyway, if this next pack is indeed a Mountain/Highlands Animal Pack, I will build new zoo in the style of Highland Wildlife Park in Scotland, featuring animals from the new pack as well as those cold climate animals that we get in the previous packs and the base game (polar bear, reindeer, king penguin, grey seal, arctic fox, moose, wisent, red deer, snow leopard, takin, Alpine ibex, Eurasian lynx, wolverine, grey wolf, Japanese macaque and etc.). If you are curious if I will build this zoo from scratch or I use a workshop map, I quickly respond by saying that I will use this
beautifully designed Norwegian zoo entrance, which fits to me the vibes of the Northern zoos that kept cold climate animals such as those I mentioned earlier.
So we got an announcement trailer for Zookeepers Animal Pack, with the said pack adding to the game Pallas cat, markhor, Hamadrayas baboon, Kirk’s dik-dik, African spurred tortoise, Spectacled bear and Coquerel’s sifaka.
And I only can say that I'm very disappointed with this pack, and given how this is the only pack that I'm disappointed with really says anything.
Not only the only animals from this pack that I'm really excited for (and the ones that were high on my wishlist) are Kirk’s dik-dik (I wanted them for their cuteness and the fact that I saw saw them in person when I was in Wrocław Zoo in 2016 with my primary school class and my dad), African spurred tortoise (because they were in Zoo Tycoon 2, game of my childhood, and because we could had a new turtle/tortoise that isn't contained in exhibit box and, like dik-dik, is an animal that functions as great filler animal) and Coquerel’s sifaka (I wanted to have Aladar's family in game) but if this pack will really turn out to be the final pack, then it doesn't scream a final pack to me due to having a mish-mash of animals that don't belong in the finale pack. Also no birds or exhibit animal? Really Frontier? We are waiting few months for some news regarding new DLC and we are getting this?
If this really was a finale pack then the animals featured in it would had been the tree kangaroo, secretary bird (or any bird, except the ones that fly like eagles or parrots), echidna, New World monkey (like a spider monkey or a howler), walrus, American black bear, grey crowned crane, Nile crocodile, greater rhea, blackbuck, coati, ocelot, rock hyrax, honey badger, musk ox, yak, white stork, pelican, guinea fowl and some exhibit animal (like a leopard gecko, panther chameleon or king cobra). Instead, we got a weird mixture of some random animals with some of them (like Coquerel’s sifaka and dik-dik) not being that heavily requested by the community and/or could had been replaced by the more popular picks like a Australian echidna replacing our seventeenth African animal (Kirk’s dik-dik). Not mentioning that if this really is the end, then it means that we ended up with birds and South American animals being underrepresented compared to other animal groups and regions (I am not mentioning here Africa, since there's already too many animals from that continent). That's why I hope it's not the final pack and we may still got two packs (one in December, and second in spring) to leave us players feel satisfied.
Will I buy this DLC? The answer is yes, but unlike previous packs that I buyed immediately (or at least tried) I will wait to buy this one due to reasons I listed previously. Still, I can't wait to put Kirk’s dik-dik's, African spurred tortoise's and Coquerel’s sifaka's in my zoos. I'm out.

Even though Pallas cat (the one in the game, not the whole species in real life) will end up irrationally hated by me due to reasons I listed in my previous post, I must admit that they're huge chonkers
(both in game and real life).
Might be my childhood love of Zoboomafoo talking, but this pack is a 10/10 just for the coquerel's sifaka

Attachments are not the problem, Indifference is. Keelah se'lai
Same for me, but instead of Zoboomafoo, I discovered Coquerel’s sifaka's through Disney's Dinosaur. And this movie is the reason why I wanted this particular species of lemur in the game.

Zoo Tycoon 2 was LIFE, and yeah, modding could be a mess sometimes. But Planet Zoo? OMG, it’s everything we ever wanted and more! I totally get those childhood dream vibes. Also, yes to Nile crocodile and playgrounds!
our ninja plumber is here http://supermario64.cc/I will leave my negative opinions towards this pack for another post, but this pack having celebration/festive vibe fits perfectly not only because it's anniversary pack but also because this month is Oktoberfest. I just wish we could had gotten some animal that is native to Germany (or any European country) in this pack like chamois or white stork.
Edit: I no longer have any negative opinions towards Zookepeer's Animal Pack since today's Frontier Unlocked stream confirmed that we will get another DLC down the line!![]()

I remember being really excited back when they added red crowned cranes, who could fly a bit around their habitat and everything. Sad to see they haven't capitalized much on that with aviaries, or even just some more big weird birds (spoonbills, potoos, and some kind of vulture/carrion bird would rule).
Really excited to see pallas cats and dik diks though! Smaller animals with reduced space requirements are fun to try and fit in around the acres needed for elephants and penguins. And a new pack means new build elements and plants and that's always a good time.
Seeing those
two
compilations of birds in The Lion King series posted today by Vtoony
has me wishing that we should get more birds in the game.
NEW ANIMAL PACK CONFIRMED IN TODAY'S FRONTIER UNLOCKED STREAM!!!!!!! I AM SO HAAAAAPPPPPPYYYYYY!!!!!! I hope that this pack will feature Nile crocodile, South American coati, American black bear, secretary bird, echidna, tree kangaroo, greater rhea, rock hyrax, musk ox, walrus, Brazilian tapir, sea otter, olive baboon, blackbuck, yak, Masai giraffe, North American elk, North American porcupine, Virginia opossum, southern tamandua, Patagonian mara or ocelot alongside with some exhibit animals like king cobra, panther chameleon or leopard gecko since we didn't get any in the latest two packs (Barnyard and Zookepeer's).

Hayo Zookeepers!
I came today with the news that Frontier may reveal new pack in the upcoming Frontier Unlocked
! I don't know yet what it will be about or what animals will be there, but I'm already looking forward to it!
Official news from today's Frontier Unlocked stream:
We are getting a Wild West/Mexican/Central American/Latin American/Americas DLC with coyote, rhea and probably American flamingo, bighorn sheep and white-faced saki!!!!! Here's link to the pack's teaser
. WE ARE SO BACK GUYS!!!!!
Rhea will finally complete the ratites (which are a family of birds that include the ostrich and the emu) and my childhood dream of having African ostrich, emu, southern cassowary and greater rhea in the same zoo game will finally came to fruition! Once I get this upcoming DLC, I will put rheas in my capybara habitats, since those two South American animals tend to live together with each other in the same habitats in Polish zoos.
Coyote just like African leopard is another animal that I wanted but others didn't, and it's addition makes my hopeful that black-backed jackal (another animal from that category) also will be added to the game one day. I wanted this canid to be added to the game due to the fact that coyotes are one of the few archetypal North American animals to us Europeans, just like cougar, American bison and prairie dog (which are already in game). My desire for coyote also stemmed from the fact Looney Tunes and Barnyard are one of the staples of my childhood, with Wile E. Coyote and the Road Runner being my favourite Looney Tunes characters and Dag being one of my favourite villains in the animation world. Who knows, maybe this pack will also add roadrunner to further drive Looney Tunes references? And I wonder if coyotes will have Native American names like cougars and prairie dogs do in order to reference Coyote from Native American myths? Anyway, I can't wait to add coyotes into my Wild West-themed zoo!
As for the rest of the animals who appeared as flags in the teaser, I remain cautious given that I don't know if they are really 100 percent American flamingo, bighorn sheep and white-faced saki (given that American flamingo may actually turn out to be a Chilean one), but for now, I will treat them if they're really them so I will review them. Good for those folks who wanted American flamingo, I personally didn't really wanted them (I only wanted them for their pretty red feathers) due to prioritizing other birds like emu or previously mentioned rhea, but I will gladly welcome them in my zoos. The same goes for bighorn sheep. When it comes to wild sheep, I personally wanted to see mouflon before bighorn sheep (given the fact that they're European animals and live in my home country, Poland, most likely had something to do with my decision of having them) but I don't have anything against putting them in my North American zoos. I hope that they will choose species as a whole and not specifically a desert bighorn sheep subspecies, given that this sheep having both Taiga and Desert biome tags could allow for some diversity in building different habitats for them. When it comes to white-faced saki, I would have preferred a howler monkey, a squirrel monkey, or another capuchin monkey (specifically the species of capuchin monkey that Dexter belonged to) to be our next monkey from the South America, but I will gladly welcome saki into my zoos given that we seriously need more monkeys and South American fauna in the game.
Anyway, I am much more hyped for this DLC in comparison to the previous one, mainly due to the fact that it has two animals from my wishlist (coyote and rhea), it focuses on the region that doesn't have much animals in comparison to other continents (aka. South America), and it has two birds (a far cry from the previous pack that didn't had any birds)!!! And I wonder what is the rest of the pack's animals? Maybe American black bear and coati? Or mara and ocelot? Or maybe even Frontier will spoil us with the third bird, with said bird being roadrunner? I don't know, I'm just so hyped for this pack!![]()
When the trailer for the pack will be released, I will inform you about it fellow Zookeepers.

So yesterday this anteater-themed video
popped on my Youtube main page, and after I saw it I started to think: "Does this means we will get southern tamandua in upcoming American-themed pack?".
This day had finally came! We have a trailer for Americas Animal Pack!
Now in my humble opinion I'm not mad at Frontier that we got ocelot instead of coati, since this South American felid was on my wishlist and for quite some time I was afraid that it's not gonna make it to the game, but here we are, and all I'll say is that it's inclusion was a welcome surprise. Now just give me a serval and I will be satisfied with game's cat roster. I can't wait to put them in my South American zoo.
As for the bush dog, it was not an object of interest to me when it comes to South American animals that may appear in the game, as I gave more priority to animals such as coatis, rheas, squirrel monkeys, and sloths. In other words, I feel the same way about the bush dog that I did about the dama gazelle in the Arid Animal Pack; it's not the animal I wanted, but I understand why others wanted it. But hey, it's still a good thing that we get more South American animals in this pack, which means that South America will no longer be the least represented continent in the game when it comes to animals.
So even though I'm a little sad that we didn't get South American coati and greater roadrunner in this pack (maybe they will come in the next one, who knows?
), I'm still looking forwards to this DLC, and as soon as it premieres on Steam, I will buy it and put the new animals from this pack in my zoos.
Have a nice day everyone!
I overslept a bit (so to speak) and didn't noticed that today was Frontier Unlocked, but on the stream that I previously mentioned, Frontier revealed that we will be getting another DLC later down this year!
It's also a funny coincidence, since today my dad bought my Americas Animal Pack!

Official news from today's Frontier Unlocked stream:
We are getting a India DLC that will feature honey badger/ratel and lion-tailed macaque! Here's link to the pack's teaser
.
Honey badger will be our third large mustelid after the European badger in "Europe Pack" and wolverine in "Eurasia Animal Pack", and will also be another iconic African savanna animal that will be added to the game, similar to how African leopard was added in last year's anniversary update (I'm still hoping that we will get the Nile crocodile before the game's support ends). And here's a funny story from my childhood that involved ratel's/honey badger's; when I was playing Zoo Tycoon 2, the reason why I never put ratel's in my zoos was due to the fact that I was mad at game's developers that those badgers aren't European badgers, since before Zoo Tycoon 2 I didn't knew about existence of those critters and assumed that they're European badgers that are normally found in my country (Poland). So my introduction to this species was... interesting to say the least.
Lol.
As for lion-tailed macaque, I'm extremely happy to see another primate/monkey, given that this group of animals isn't as represented as other animals in the game, so I would take any monkey, especially given the fact that until then we only had two Asian monkeys (Japanese macaque and proboscis monkey), so seeing another Asian monkey makes me happy. And even though I tend to think more about rhesus and bonnet macaques when I think about Indian monkeys, I still welcome lion-tailed macaque with open arms due to their pretty black-and-white coloration and lion-like mane. And who knows, maybe in this DLC, in addition to the lion-tailed macaque, we will also get the rhesus macaque?
I also noticed herd of elephants in the background, but if we really getting a third elephant, then I will say that the African and Indian elephants are enough for me when it comes to getting more trunked pachyderms, so I'm hoping those Asian elephants are only for the stylistic sake.
When it comes to those animals that weren't yet revealed, I'm hoping for a blackbuck and nilgai, since those two antelopes are in my opinion two last animals that are essential to complete India in the game. Blackbuck especially, since many players (even since the game's release) want to see this Indian antelope in the game, including me, since I want to add them in the ungulate area of my European city zoo that is inspired by ungulate area in my home zoo in Cracow, where there are also blackbucks. I'm also hoping that this DLC will finally bring to the game a cobra species, but I'm worried we will not get this snake due to the fact that previous DLC's didn't featured any exhibit animals at all, but I am not losing hope. Besides those two antelopes (and the cobra), I can't think of other iconic Indian animals since most of them are already in the game. I'm think that gaur could be a good option, but I think it's inclusion is unlikely due to the fact that we already have Indian buffalo in the game, which has the similar niche as gaur.
This DLC will probably be the first one where I won't be expecting what animals I'll see, considering that the region it focuses on (India) already has most of the iconic animals in the game. That being said, I'm looking forward to this DLC, and when the trailer for the pack will be released, I will inform you about it fellow Zookeepers.
We've got a trailer for Asia Animal Pack featuring ratel/honey badger, lion-tailed macaque, Borneo pygmy elephant, Père David's deer, raccoon dog, blackbuck and nilgai! Additionally, we will get a new butterfly in the update that will be released together with the DLC, with this butterfly being malabar rose butterfly!

Hi everyone, new troper here and this my tenth thread on This Very Wiki.
Hayo Zookeepers!
One of my favourite things in my childhood was playing Zoo Tycoon 2. I always loved building zoos for animals (and dinosaurs and other prehistoric creatures), but I only had two problems with this game - limited creativity and lack of some crucial animals. For example: I wanted to build my own shelter for animals but the game didn't let me to do it. Or I wanted to build petting zoo, but the game didn't had domestic animals. And this could go on and on. When I discovered that there is such a thing as "mods" that add what I wanted (e.g. species of animals that I wanted to have in the game), I started downloading them, but it did not satisfied me because the mods sometimes were breaking my game. Back then, my dad advised me to collect money for a potential Zoo Tycoon 3, but I didn't listened to him, stubbornly believing that it was better to have Zoo Tycoon 2 with modifications than to wait for a game that would never be created.
I was wrong. Oh how wrong I was. Because one beautiful day, Frontier Developments announced Planet Zoo, Spiritual Successor to the Zoo Tycoon series and... Oh. My. Gosh! When I saw announcement trailer I had goosebumps through the whole time (and I was also probably crying out of happiness, I don't remember correctly) and I immediately thought that this game is for all intents and purposes Zoo Tycoon 3, and I regretted that I had been ignoring my dad in the past. I probably never had been so hyped for a game in my entire life: not only because of childhood nostalgia of me playing Zoo Tycoon 2, but also because this game was basically my childhood dream come true. I was finally able to put official Indian rhinos, bactrian camels and spotted hyenas (three species that I wanted in Zoo Tycoon 2) in my zoos and having an ability to build my own custom animal shelters and african village inspired zoos. I was also so happy to hear that animals in the game will have more than one biome, since in Zoo Tycoon 2 I was frustrated by the fact that Indian elephants and Komodo dragons have scrubland biome as their biomes, while I associate these two species with tropical jungles. During this time I had been watching GamerEmpire
(now ReviewGen) speculation videos of potential species that will appear in game (and if I remember correctly, some of them did make it, while the others still wait for their time to appear).
And when game finally came out, it becomed my most played game on Steam (by the time of writing this I have 769,7 hours on it), while I becomed member of Planet Zoo family. During this time (me getting game and me currently writing this thread) I have gotten many of the animals from my wishlist - that actually goes way back to my childhood when I was still playing Zoo Tycoon 2 - added to the game, and every time each one was announced I was squealing with joy in the inside (or in case of wisent from Eurasia Animal Pack, I was literally crying of happiness). Currently, another childhood dream of mine concerning zoo games came true, and that's petting zoos in the form of newest Planet Zoo pack, Barnyard Animal Pack, since having farm animals and being able to build petting zoos for them was something that I always wanted to do in Zoo Tycoon 2, but I wasn't able to do it. Now I can, and before writing this thread I had build first half of petting zoo in my North American temperate zoo.
Well... that was a long introduction, wasn't it? So in this thread we can speculate what animals will be added in the future (I personally want to see Nile crocodile and African leopard), what future updates will bring in (who else wants playgrounds and addition of the shops from Planet Coaster World Fair DLC?) and the other things related to this game, like what we today builded in it. I hope that everyone who reads this has a good day!
Gonna build a mountain, from the little hill... I love this song so much!
I think it fit perfectly into the game's announcement trailer, and was one of the reasons why I fell in love with this game. So I'm adding it here, so you can also listen to it.
I'm also adding game's launch trailer, so all of you can see this game in all of its glory.
And given that I'm writing this in the wake of the new DLC, I'm posting here its launch trailer:
