But why maybe? Why is there even any doubt? Are we supposed to believe the DC side of the negotiations knew it was a nazi hint, but never said anything about it? Or that the Fortnite side knew and thought it would be super fun to recall it once the episodes got to a certain point?
You and I remember Budapest very differentlyWhy would they? Its a secret twist, telling everyone tends to ruin that kind of stuff.
You and I remember Budapest very differentlyI mean I have heard James Gunn did not do test screening for the episode although I think he did show the episode to some specific people? I just recently heard he said that somewhere I think in an article that came out where he said that nobody did not notice anything off until the twist happened.
But yeah he did kept the twist under wraps.
Reminder that not all audiences are internet and trope savvy.
So its a good thing Gunn didn't try to pull the wool on his own twist just to trick the people who figured it out.
"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."Exactly, it was kept underwraps. Nobody involved in the Fortnite deal knew about the details and thought it was just a goofy dance move from the opening credits.
You and I remember Budapest very differentlyLex Luthor is not a bully. Lex Luthor is clearly instead a delusional psychopath. For all the fucking difference that makes.
Self-professed Wild Card who thinks cynicism isn't so bad.Luthor is basically using a lot of Double Think to justify both his grudge against Superman and why the guy doesn't just splat him.
Wake me up at your own risk.He doesn't want to be reduced to a helpless puny earthling that needs rescue. Never mind that there are plenty of Superman stories that subvert the Puny Earthlings trope. Like how the Daily Planet crew saved Superman's reputation by exposing Lex Luthor as the villain.
Ego is really the one big thing to guide Lex Luthor along... which, you know, the man is literally Superman's arch-nemesis. Kind of a given.
Self-professed Wild Card who thinks cynicism isn't so bad.Why does this Superman seem highly unlikely to pull the Red Eyes, Take Warning to almost kill Lex? Other than the fact he didn't do that in this movie despite all the awful stuff this Lex did.
because he's not Henry Cavill's Superman? Who actually did that to his Lex when he showed pictures of Martha being held captive, which there may be something subjective there when Superman's family is actually threatened.

Perhaps part of that is the room allowed in for Alternate Character Interpretation, regarding the scene where Superman's seen freaking out about losing Krypto the Dog. That dog being Kara's, the scene could be viewed as Superman being all "BITCH, I'M FREAKING OUT FOR YOUR SAKE, WHERE'S THE DOG?!?"
Jeeez Luthor's mooks really are a pack of depraved psychos
Like...goddamn, bro. Who hurt you?

The division of DC dealing with Fortnite might've had no idea the meaning the division of DC creating the series was intending.
Please remember that, ultimately, fictional works of entertainment are just that.
