Mr. Rogers is too closely associated with his show, blurring the line between real life and live action TV. And Biden has been a highly polarizing figure in recent years for obvious reasons, so having him as the page image would have ROCEJ issues. Chuck, in addition to being one of the most famous examples of a Memetic Badass, is well-known enough for his characters to be subject to I Am Not Leonard Nimoy.
Shit, I completely forgot that Chuck is on the main page.

to all:
- I would rather not use any recent politician. Someone who's been dead a couple centuries is probably fine.
- To understand the Mr. Rogers ones a reader would have to know both who he is and Thor lore.
- Chuck is already the image on Main.Memetic Badass.

How about this (from the same ad as 1.4 here

Image Pickin' Backlog
I don't know. It kind of requires you to know that he is a real person.
Mr. Rogers is such an iconic figure and his show was on for so many years, I think there's a good chance someone familiar with Thor would at least know of Mr. Rogers, even if by Pop Culture Osmosis.
It feels kinda weird to have a Memetic Badass page for Real Life individuals, doesn't it? Maybe to miscellaneous concepts ("Florida Man", 0.01% of germs, duct tape, etc.) but this feels like just a smattering of random gushing about anyone with a fanbase.
Thanks for playing King's Quest V!That's a very big assumption. Mr. Rogers is an American icon, keyword American.
weak
to 8.2. It involves someone dead for a long time now so will be less fussy, but is still very American.
I mean, The Mighty Thor as depicted in the image originates in an American comic series, albeit based on Norse Mythology (and on that note, Only the Chosen May Wield Mjölnir comes from Marvel; there's times in Norse mythology where it's stolen or otherwise picked up with unheroic purposes).
^^ Umm...I don't think that addresses the Fan Myopia concern either. To put it another way, to understand the image:
- You have to know Mr. Rogers is a paragonal pop culture figure
- You have to know Mjolnir's Only the Chosen May Wield deal
I don't think either of those are well-known enough on their own, let alone together, for the image to work. "Everyone knows who Mr Rogers is obviously" is Fan Myopia.
8.2 is passable because the caricature does indicate some old timey memeyness, but I think it needs an explanatory caption telling us who this is.

8.2
. Teddy Roosevelt is well known even outside the USA and is not a contemporary figure.
18 (my favorite) and 8.2 work for me. Teddy Roosevelt doesn't have a spotless legacy, but even his detractors can't deny his Memetic Badass status. Contrast with Biden - even among his supporters, his Memetic Badass status isn't universal, whereas the discourse around Teddy is "he was a Memetic Badass" vs. "he did some not good things and thus shouldn't be considered a Memetic Badass (or at least his image should be a little more nuanced)". The status itself isn't in question.

If it doesn’t count as an image macro, 18.2 works, and 8.2 isn’t too bad either.
(I agree with what everyone else has said. Also, even if he weren’t on the main page, I’d prefer someone a little less obvious than Chuck Norris.)

Join the Five-Man Band cleanup project!Chuck Norris is good exactly because he is obvious, but the suggestion with him is an image macro. I still prefer 8.2 for being simpler and less texty than 18.
