Sauron, Devil, Lizard, Fin Fang Foom, Reptil...I'd relish a rise in reptilian representation. We don't even have Abomination.
But questions like these make me wonder - how big can you make a hero in this game, and how much can you shrink a comic character (like they did with SP//DR) before it gets silly.
It's difficult to determine exactly how big is too big, but I'm sure the devs would have somewhere they draw the line. There's already a fair bit of difference between the biggest and smallest characters, and that's with making Jeff bigger than his standard comics size.
I also think they can get away with shrinking some characters more easily than others. SP//DR isn't too bad, it's a suit of armour with a small person in it. Someone like Devil Dinosaur for example, would look a lot weirder.
The Scrappy of the Trope Pantheon, God of Thumps
Its really funny when Ultron’s kit was leaked, people thought he’d be balls to play but ended up pretty decent
Pantheon server for all who click here. Lost too much money and time, this coaster ain’t stopping.![]()
I know his ult is him screaming "ONE THOUSAND CUTS!" but it sounds like "ONE THOUSAND GODS!" and that's hardcore.
In Blade's sword, clearly. Too bad he already sliced you to pieces with it, Gorr! HA!
Localized invisibilty? I've gotten at least two sick ambushes off it and it's kept me safe while I wait for my team to regroup.
Blade's a pretty perfectly balanced DPS guy. Kind of a "Jack" character but being able to shoot melee characters and melee shooting characters means he's basically always got the tactical advantage in one on ones. The only people able to defeat my flanks so far are... Other Blades.
And right now there's always another Blade around.
I haven't played in months though so Emma, Thing, Torch, Jean and Ultron are all new to me too. Emma and Thing fighting on my shoulders to decide my new favorite tank. Haven't seen a single Torch in quick play, although I did decently as him in Doom Match. Ultron's all over the place.
You are not alone.Gabe Kunda plays Blade and talks a bit about what it was like voicing Blade. Notably he mentions that although he was cast back last year he didn't actually get called to do his lines until a little over a month ago. This extremely closed-to-deadline turn-around explains a few different things, notably why datamining has never grabbed character voicelines before.
He also teases at potentially having an idea of upcoming characters, which leads to the next vid:
Guangguang did an interview recently. A few highlights:
- They're doing a video going over how their matchmaking system works soon.
- Heroes take about a year to go from concept to releasable state. They largely focus on getting the kit sorted out first before putting art assets together, and the planned storylines for each season play significantly into which characters they decide to go with and when.
- On that note he effectively confirms that villains are being looked into for playable characters but doesn't dive further than that.
- They plan to address the disparity of roles (aka adding more Vanguards and Strategists) but he notes it'll take time, in part because their plans through the next year are already pretty much locked in.
- It's addressed more elsewhere but he reiterates the idea of supporting the game long-term - I believe there's another where he suggests going for 10 years and beyond.

Ooooh I definitely gotta check the Blade voice actor video when I have the time.
I was surprised that this Blade sounds a bit younger? I'm used to seeing Blade being a hardened veteran, with his recent return in film by an older Snipes and him getting a daughter in the books solidifying that view. But he feels solidly mid-20s in the game. In any case, Kunda absolutely nails it.
You are not alone.Apparently Gorr might be referenced in one of the unlockable Story Mode lore segment thingies. The Kings in Black is from All-Black's POV where she recaps her history: that she was created from Knull's shadow, refined in the severed head of a dead Celestial, and wielded to destroy the cosmos. She notes that she has been wielded by others over the millennia of Knull's imprisonment—including one unnamed host who venerated her and put her on a pedestal of godhood. All-Black realizes that Knull only sees her as a tool and gaslit her into believing that only he could unleash her full potential, and is surprised and confused to realize that she's proud and jealous of Venom for achieving a kind of symbiosis she's longed for but been denied by Knull, for overcoming the symbiotes' instinctual fear of fire to merge with the Phoenix Force while she recoils from it. All-Black laments that while Venom is a superior King in Black, Knull's victory is inevitable, and wishes that the hands who once revered her would wield her once more.
Despite speculation, they finally spoke about it to say they don't use EOMM.
They'll release a video next week explaining how their matchmaking actually works.
Cloak and Dagger have a skin that's not absolutely phenomenal challenge level: Impossible.
You are not alone.

I think Ka-Zar or Shanna's actually possible, but specifically because I think it's very possible they eventually decide to make the Savage Land a map, and if they do Savage Land they would have a character attached to it.
But on the other hand, if they do that they might do Sauron or Stegron instead, or have Devil Dinoaur & Moon Girl for it.
