HELL yes, Hi Hi Puffy AmiYumi mention! i only very briefly saw it on my childhood but i when i did decide to actually watch it years later, i found it entertaining. sad it was one of those toons that only had a short run, but like you said it's still a great show nonetheless
also, the show's turning 20 this year? dang… they weren't kidding when they say time's a social construct

We're coming up to the 20th anniversary of this underrated gem, which means it's time for nostalgia to kick in for those who caught the show during Cartoon Network's "new look" era. I speak for them as I've had fond memories of watching the cartoon antics of the J-pop band while being introduced to that genre of music. It didn't matter if the flash animation wasn't top-notch; the distinct personalities and likeabilities of the girls (in addition to their striking designs admittingly) were what made it enduring. It may have been a gimmicky Band Toon but it was not afraid to have some fun with that concept.
And like the collected few who were devoted to the animated tour, I was baffled and confused by its abrupt cancelation in 2006 and the illusion given that the show never happened and we all fever-dreamed it the whole time. No explanation was given, leading to wild speculation and theories that haven't been confirmed or denied. Some never forgave CN for that decision and the fact that it happened close to the network's "dark age" didn't help. The only way to keep the spirit of Puffy alive was to seek copies of episodes on the fledgling web, which led to the cult status it has today.
In hindsight, considering the worse treatment other CN shows got by its flailing parent company, the plight of Puffy seems rather quaint and the network may not be at fault at all. The fact that they're now acknowledging the show's existence recently seems to challenge the antagonism fans brought upon them. Regardless, the spirit of Puffy Power will live on even if its impact was short-lived. This bumper sums it all up nicely:
