Might be worth a rephrased first post to give people who don't know Len'en more context?

The Len'en Project (連縁Project / 鏈縁Project lit. Connecting Chain) is a Japanese doujin game series that specialises in shoot 'em ups by Trick Nostalgie, whose sole member is game developer Jyn X. The series is notable for taking heavy inspiration from the Touhou Project. As such, it is a series of 2D (with 3D background) vertically-scrolling shoot 'em ups. Although it takes inspiration from Touhou, the games are technically not fangames towards Touhou. It is set in a separate world which features an entirely new cast of characters, therefore having its own canonicity and plot.
The Len'en Project is set in the land of Mugenri, containing humans and youkai alike. It is sealed away from the Outside World by a mysterious spiritual barrier called the Mugenri Barrier. Yabusame Houlen is the main protagonist, and together with their friend Tsubakura Enraku, they are youkai exterminators who solve incidents. They were employed by Tsurubami Senri, the Shinto priest of the Senri Shrine. Tsurubami spirited away humans from out of Mugenri to force them to replace their job and go on a holiday to the Outside World.
In-game events are similar to the Touhou Project, except that it works more deeply with connecting the plot of all the games together. In Mugenri, incidents occur once in a while, where there's an event that affects all of Mugenri with an unknown cause at the time it occurs. Frequently, incidents are due to a person's whim or curiosity, and usually Yabusame (and in some cases others such as Tsubakura) would go to investigate it to then find and punish the perpetrator. Such incidents can exist from a range of heavy clouds in the sky to an outright war between two major factors.
While the project involves characters interacting with each other and having humour added to it, the stories can get very serious and deep in lore. Brilliant Pagoda or Haze Castle especially has a lot of dialogue hinting to the amount of plot added to the series.
So what I'm saying is, Len'en is underrated and needs more love.
Thanks for coming to my TED-talk.
Call out a personI've heard of this franchise before too. I heard that Jynx is currently working on a cafe sim spinoff and the 5th game, which will be a fighting game like the Touhou spinoffs instead of a bullet hell. Idk if the cafe sim is fully finished or if Jynx is still developing it. I last heard news of it like a couple of years ago when Jynx released what I think is a beta version.
And yeah, Len'en is really underrated. Doesn't help that it's been 8 years since the 4th game and that one of the reasons for the long gap is Jynx working on the two upcoming games under new formats they aren't familiar with and thus they need to teach themself how to make the games since they're developing Len'en alone. On the other hand, I respect their dedication even if a rather long time has passed.

And Bo TC is almost ready, and we got the first mention of Monochrome World in at least 6 years ago, so I think this is a good signal.
Something I want to discuss is :
Is Em Ev a prequel of sorts? Like, I have a headcanon that Daijin is Tsuba's dad, Serintsu is Yabu's dad, Big Boss is Suzumi's big bro, and Shinkuu, well, Shinkuu would be nobody.
And we've seen the Shitodo's true oldest sibling a.k.a Hoojiro Shitodo but why not the mother and father?

Call out a personResurrecting this thread for a while to discuss something: can the Len'en games considered part of the Horror genre? I've noticed people putting it in the same basket of the Project Moon repertoire.
"You can't spell 'Wario' without 'war'."It's because the creator emphasized more on how bad living in a traditional world where youkais roam free would be. There's even a predatory youkai in the fourth game who possesses children and let them die of starvation/dehydration.
Then there's everything about what another character, Suzumi Kuzu, does, the way they fight, and their backstory

Welcome degenerates to the shitpost central, Len’en.
