Makes sense. Very few Dragonball fighting games - or anime tie-in fighting games in general - make an effort to be balanced. I remember it was huge deal with the fanbase when Fighter Z came out, because people straight up refused to believe it would be balanced for a while. For a long time people thought half the cast would be designed to have intentionally bad characters but have good assists.
Don't get me wrong, I get why the character balance is so intentionally off kilter - it's to ensure that the coolest characters can do the coolest things, which is basically what this series is about. But where things like ranked battles are concerned what that translates to, to me, is "I can't pick the characters I want and have a good time online," so the online part of the game is probably going to be a miss for me.
I'm spending days in that scenario creator, though.
I dunno how or why and I'd probably take this info with a grain of salt, but this Italian gaming news site might've accidentally revealed a new character...
Not only does it say Chi-Chi is playable, but it even describes one of her attacks, "unleashing her fury with a barrage of slaps."
Like the thing is, there was a leaked screenshot of Chi-Chi shown in the background of the Custom Battle menu (a handful of characters got leaked through menu backgrounds in fact), but a lot of people thought that character in particular would only be a story NPC.
Onto some more concrete news, Shaka and Kazunoko are going to be hosting an hour long presentation of Sparking Zero on the 23rd.
They're going to be playing the story mode, online PvP, and Shaka is going to make a custom battle for Kazunoko to play.

If this is true, then I'll be sure to title my What If video, "What if Chi-Chi was actually relevant in Dragon Ball Z powerlevel wise?"
Then she gets locked with Goku in the time chamber.
"The Black Rage makes us strong, because we must resist its temptations every day of our lives or be forever damned!"Another thing I forgot to mention is that the article states that there's a point system, where you can spend points to customize characters attacks and appearances. Unlocking new costumes makes sense, but the confirmation of custom movesets is quite big, because that was a major feature of Raging Blast.

Chi Chi finally having a child for every dragon ball like she wanted while trapped. ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
Interesting, the line referring to Chi-Chi got removed from the article.
I guess the interviewers might've jumped the gun on that bit of info. It would be random to reveal a character DURING AN INTERVIEW and not a trailer.

Alternate...
It's the only outfit she ever fights in, so that'd be the main one.
Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie. Check out my art if you notice. To be honest, I'd rather have a serious martial arts moveset for Chi-Chi than a gag one. See Super Dragon Ball Z on the PS 2. You can even get her to do the Kamehameha!
I remember when people were getting excited Kushina was going to be playable in Naruto Shippuden Ultimate Ninja Storm Revolution and she was just a gag moveset. Iruka also disappointed me in that game because he was also a gag moveset instead of badass like in Clash of Ninja.
She has nothing to base a real move-set off from...
But they can make something, they should not do so out of integrity
This won't be a balanced game, so they'll probably stick with gags for the child version.

"Hi ya ho. Here we go, he's the man with the plan to uplift the good and root out the bad."
What I love about Great Saiyaman isn't even the posing, or that Gohan is such a dork.
It's not that he's traumatized or made to do any of this. We see Goten and Trunks actually act semi-normal as the Great Saiyaman. This isn't Gohan not knowing what he's doing as a teenager because even as an adult he's still doing this. He just genuinely thinks that he looks cool doing it and that makes it cool it in an ironic way.
It's earned it's place on the roster for how unabashedly eccentric and off-key it is. The movie even gave Gohan a more refined version of his intro.

Now that was a fun trailer!
- Super Vegetto vs Jiren
- DBS Future Trunks vs Roasie & Ribrianne
- Yajirobe vs Spopovich
- Dabura vs Mr. Satan & Anilaza
- UI Omen Goku vs SSR Goku Black
Also, while the trailer's roster did update with the new characters, there's still a few characters that haven't been added despite already being revealed:
- DBZ 17
- Dr. Gero
- SS2 Teen Gohan
- Base Trunks (Melee)
- Semiperfect Cell
- Super Saiyan Gohan (the one on the roster is SS2)
- Great Saiyaman

Having those really powerful characters cost more/have better throws/stronger Blast 1s and 2s feels right.
