I mean, anyone more substantial would still have to fight for spotlight against three leads and a cute cat subplot
Ronan wasn’t much of a villain either because the focus was on setting up an entire team of characters
I would argue that more could have been done her being the Savior of Hala with her people desperately loving her. But her backup dancers seem to disappear after planet musical
Forever liveblogging the Avengers
True its a hard situation for any villain.
Hell I'm pretty sure she's the only named villain here. Like she doesn't even have a recurring lieutenant who serves as a miniboss. At least Ronan had Korath and Nebula.
There's not much to work here villain-wise. Its just Dar-Benn, generic foot soldiers, and some ships.

"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."She had that one guy who kept telling her how cool she was
I do not remember if his name was ever said and he was the toadie kind of subordinate instead of the dragon kind
Forever liveblogging the AvengersAs said before I feel like it would have been interesting if they did play up her sympathetic traits more. Maybe make her an expy of the more Noble Demon version of Ronin from the comics.
I am fine with pure evil villains, some of my favorite villains are like that. High evolutionary was a phenomenal villain for example. But here I feel like making her more 3 dimensional would have served the story better.
Bow to the PrototypeA villain is more a showcase of the story.
So an underwhelming story sometimes signify's an underwhelming story which is kind of the case here.
Ben-Dare being simple isn't really an issue as long as the story is really tight.

"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."Was this movie really bad? Because I was planning to watch it when it's on Disney plus.
"Now it's starting to feel like a game!"It's definitely more enjoyable than good. But that's what I want from my MCU movies.
I mean, there's a scene full of cats (sort-of), featuring "Memory" from Cats blasting in the background.
That's probably the best bit of non-original music in a scene the MCU has had since She-Hulk and "Rude" by Shygirl.

The movie is fun. The leads are entertaining and bounce off of each other well. Id say its a movie that runs more off of vibes than anything else, though. It kinda falls apart once you start scrutinizing it, but thats not what its about.
A semi-solid 6-ish out of 10.

I also enjoyed The Marvels and would definitely recommend watching it in theaters.
I assure you, I'm perfectly trustable personYeah, this isn't a bad movie in the slightest. Not the absolute peak of the MCU, but definitely fun and enjoyable.
Disney100 Marathon | DreamWorks MarathonIf it weren't for Disney+ kneecapping casual viewers, I'd think this would likely get a pretty decent bump from holiday viewings in the US.
But instead I think we'll get a lot of people going "wow, glad to hear it sounds okay. Looking forward to it on Disney Plus."
Found a Youtube Channel with political stances you want to share? Hop on over to this page and add them.I think thanks to stuff like money being tight. People are more inclined to not go for a film they don't think is good but not great or has personal nostalgia attached it like FNAF or Mario.
"That's right mortal. By channeling my divine rage into power, I have forged a new instrument in which to destroy you."

Fun Fact, Dar-Benn is a character from the 80's whose only had a total of 3 appearances before being killed off.
Yeah making her the villain over literally anyone a little bit more substantial is fairly questionable.
