Yeah, the easiest way to fix it imo is to just have a relationship before she falls into the sleep.

Then it's not some random asshole rolling up and kissing the body of a girl he either didn't know or just met for a second a while ago, but a tragic moment of someone having a last moment with a person they loved who is now gone.

Still kissing a body, but less of a gorchy presentation.

They did meet before then at the start of the original film; Disney didn't have enough experience animating realistic male characters back then so further scenes with the Prince were cut. (Prince Charming from Cinderella had a similar fate.)

Or at the very least, friends who were far more than comfortable with smooching each other. Smooch buds.

[up][up] Why specifically male characters, I wonder? It’s not like they had much experience with female ones either…

They had The Goddess of Spring as a test run for animating women.

And that famously did not work cause Persephone looked like she had noodle arms. XD

Then again, I think it's more one was asking what was the lesser of two evils: animating women, or animating men.

They were men who liked drawing pretty women.

Please remember that, ultimately, fictional works of entertainment are just that.

On the bright side, it's doing better than the Pinocchio remake (which got a 27% on RT).

Yeah, This is actually higher than I expected. I might see it to support Zegler (sometimes I see movies I know aren't great just as a show off support to whoever the alt-right's dogpiling at the moment) but I'm still on the fence due to the disability erasure and Gadot, from what I understand, being kind of nuts about that thing we can't talk about here.

[up]*2. I think the biggest mistake with Pinocchio was apply Adaptational Nice Guy in the main character, which makes Pinocchio's status as a “mischievous boy” just an informed attribute.

It also doesn't help that it was overshadowed by the Memetic Mutation of a So Bad, It's Good Pinocchio film released prior and the acclaim and Oscar win of a Pinocchio film released afterwards.

I'm happy that all reviews are universally praising Rachel Zegler.

But yeah, reading them, even the positive ones basically boil down to it's So Okay, It's Average.

Yeah Rachel seems to be the one thing most reviews like. Which is nice to see after all the hate she got.

With all the hate on Youtube being directed entirely as Rachel, you've got to wonder if the Nerdrotics and Shapiros would have praised the movie if the lead role was given to someone else.

Keep in mind the rest of the movie looks like this: https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/snow_white_dopey_cgi.webp
