I've suspected for quite some time that I at least have ADHD, if not also ASD to some degree. One of my goals for this year was to seek diagnoses for both, but other health issues that are way more pressing derailed that until probably the middle of next year.

I've at least been diagnosed with autism and ADHD. There are several conditions I might also have (such as depression, anxiety, and/or a trauma disorder), but I haven't currently been diagnosed with any of those as far as I know.
Cold turkey's getting stale. Tonight I'm eating crow.i've been suspecting myself to be autistic for at least 2 years now. i've noticed some symptoms, however i'm still not sure if i'm just being weird as hell and not be autistic. i understand it's a spectrum, so obviously everyone experiences autism differently- but i don't wanna be wrong, you know?
hey look it's my signatureI'm also on the spectrum, and yeah, I think this site definitely caters to people like us. Think of Abed from Community: he's basically the walking embodiment of TV Tropes and was (unintentionally) inspired by Dan Harmon's own autism (I say unintentionally because while he was writing Abed, he hadn't been diagnosed yet, but soon realized his behavior sounded a bit too familiar and went to a professional). Obviously, not everyone with ASD is like that, but it seems to be that TV Tropes does tend to attract those that are.
Disney100 Marathon | DreamWorks MarathonI'm an autistic adult with ADHD (among other things). MCYT is my special interest, so I edit MCYT related pages on here because it makes me happy.
I haven't received an official diagnose per se, because you can't get one in Sweden unless it actively interferes with your life in some way, but I have talked to a psychologist who said it's "very likely" that I'm on the spectrum. I even got a pamphlet that outlined several symptoms, and my family recognized several of them in regards to how I've behaved both in childhood and adulthood.
It would certainly explain my aversion to eye contact, my tics such as smacking my lips and chewing on things and my obsession with certain things - I'm probably hyperfixating.
... Actually, I have strong suspicions that my Dad is on the spectrum, as well. It'd explain a lot of his behaviors, as well.

I kinda realized at some point that TV Tropes itself has become one of my special interests.
And mine too. :)
I'm still pondering about something fun to do for my anniversary of when I joined. Should I bake a cake that's shaped like the Internet? ;)
Come on! Let's bless them all until we get fershnickered!I was diagnosed with Aspergers in 2007 when I was only 7. Though, because of the DSM-5, I guess it's more accurate to say high-functioning autism now.
Orcus on His Throne will always be my pet peeve. My doctor misdiagnosed with ADHD as a child and put me on Ritalin when I was 5. At the age of 11, a different doctor diagnosed me with Asperger’s.
I told my parents to keep me on Ritalin so I would focus on school more. I never found I was in the right to stand up against others. This lasted until I graduated high school. I wish I didn’t ask for this because I’ve grown up to become a sheep and it frustrates me and those around me.
Currently writing an autobiography on my struggles in life. Looking back, people with authority are blind and it turns kids into jerks.

To prove that not every person on TV Tropes has ASD, I don't! I went through the early stages of the diagnosis process and the doctors (or whatever the qualification is for diagnosing ASD) put it down as, "no need for further testing".
Still means that someone thought it was a good idea to send me there in the first place, because whatever else I have looks similar enough to autism or at least to people's idea of autism. So. I don't know if this actually proves anything about TV Tropes' demographics.
"He betrayed the Staaarks" is not the only problem here.

I just discovered that many Troper here has ASD, ADHD, Asperger or is neurodivergent in someway (PokecaptorSean, raikourwby and some other I don't remember - may include myself too but I am not sure)
So, are neurodivergent Tropers common on TV Tropes, and why?
