The protagonist finds a letter that's 1 shade of white too dark.

Currently Reading: N/ANobody Poops: Subverted, actually we get to see our protagonist doing his entire nightly bathroom routine wordlessly and in real time. In 20 minutes the most exciting part is the splash when a single regular sized turd reaches the water in the toilet.

Charlie probably doesn't even know how to villain. (credit to Deadly Espresso for this)This shot lasts three-minutes, and is overlaid with another shot of a stick-on letter in the shape of a capital Pi (though it's actually just an E with the bottom half cut off). The sound of someone coughing can be heard at 1 minute and 26 seconds in. This is followed by 3 seconds of footage of Robert A. Taft hesitating during a speech.
In the dream, the guy is working a desk job at a slightly different office than the one we're shown while he's awake. There is a copy machine in the office. Whenever the copy machine is in frame, a slowed-down, nearly subsonic sample of a bird chirping can be heard. The guy uses the copy machine, and the sound is slightly louder until he's done using it. Exactly 3 minutes after he uses the copy machine, we're shown him waking up.

As he's standing around, trying to remember, he thinks of a hypothetical scene in his favorite detective show. This is All There in the Script: we're never shown what he's thinking.

I'm kind of bored right now, so let's make something that can bore us all! We need a plot that starts dull and gets duller as it goes on. I'll start with the setting, a company who's main business is making those stick-on letters (ie, the ones you see on mailboxes and such).
