Clock Tower is one of those games that interested me when I first heard about it, but I never got a chance to play it. I'm definitely thinking of picking up the remastered version and finally experience it.
"I squirm, I struggle, ergo I am. Faced with death, I am finally, truly alive."Not a fan of the change to a generic anime artstyle that they showed off while talking about updating the cutscenes. The original was honestly striking in how it captured the look of a classic VHS horror movie; the realistic portraits and such were a big part of that. I hope there's some kind of Monkey Island/Halo Anniversary style option to toggle back to the original graphics.

Funnily enough, I first heard of Clock Tower from a book that talked about Pokemon cards, of all things. Specifically, it had an advertisement for Clock Tower II: The Struggle Within.
I don't remember what caused me to look up the series on a whim, but I learned about the very first game and was pretty fascinated.
"I squirm, I struggle, ergo I am. Faced with death, I am finally, truly alive."I first heard of it when I saw ads for the PS 1 game (which was actually a direct sequel to the SNES game).
Since the Western release was simply titled "Clock Tower", I didn't realize for the longest time that it was a sequel.
Disgusted, but not surprisedI think they will change the portraits since the 1st Clock Tower game was inspired by the 1985 horror movie, Phenomena, which even the main protagonist of the game looking like the main protagonist of Phenomena, Jennifer Connelly.
This has happened before like Metal Gear 2. When it was officially released in English, they changed Snake's potrait from the original game since his old look was based on Mel Gibson from Lethal Weapon to his current look.
WayForward just put out a trailer for a physical release of the updated game:
No release date yet, huh? Still, it's nice to see this pop up again ever since it was first announced.
"I squirm, I struggle, ergo I am. Faced with death, I am finally, truly alive."The WayForward YouTube channel posted a "Full Gameplay Trailer."
The number of "Clock Towel" comments on that video honestly surprised me; that video is almost ten years old and people still remembered that joke after all this time. 😅
"Hey, least I didn't lose all my artistic talent when I crash landed in the arena here."The WayForward YouTube channel recently posted a video of the animated intro:
The biggest thing I want from a remake of the second game is to NOT have a romance between the 15-year-old lead and a 26-year-old creep.
"I squirm, I struggle, ergo I am. Faced with death, I am finally, truly alive."
My post was referring to Clock Tower 2; I saw "second game" in the post above and assumed it was talking about the sequel to the first game.
I guess that is what happens when the very first game in the series never got localized and you start localization with the second game.
If they did end up remaking The Struggle Within, I wonder if they'll actually keep the Japanese setting and names this time instead of trying to westernize the names.

"I squirm, I struggle, ergo I am. Faced with death, I am finally, truly alive."Bumping this thread because Clock Tower: Rewind has been released.
"I squirm, I struggle, ergo I am. Faced with death, I am finally, truly alive."

One of, if not, the most terrifying SNES games ever is coming to the WEST OFFICIALLY!
