I was wondering what it had to do with 40K's race of Terminators.
Unfortunately, I'm pretty sure the answer is nothing and they'll have to change that name to avoid the wrath of Geedubs' legal.
Wait a minute.
...Is this supposed to be a reboot/reimagining/sequel of the DreamWorks movie Small Soldiers? Because if it isn't, they might want to do some name changing or have some talks with DW, because otherwise there might be some ceasing and desisting in the near future.

My rename suggestions would be Infinitesimal Infantry, Tiny Troopers and Miniature Marines.
It is unfortunate Puny Privates would not work for obvious reasons, I do find those words kinda innately fun to say. Wee Warriors would be laughed at even by children.
Possible name drama aside, (its a very clear sequel or reboot concept) what's everyone's thoughts on the content, because I was blown away.
The toys move so well, they all have very cool designs and the story on the back of the Necronite leader's box sounds very interesting.
Honestly if it ever gets fully developed, I'd like to see the Space Elite avoid the fate of Chip Hazard, and realize, like Moriarty did, with the help of the Necronite leader, that they don't have to follow the script written for their toyline.
It could be their "No more hiding" moment
Oh, and they could just call them "Toy Troopers", if they have to.
That or Action Fighters.

But yes, the trailer was extremely impressive, I've seen other proof of concept cinematics that were certainly made with far less care, though granted I don't think the ones I have in mind were ever released for marketing.
But seriously, I figure either 1: They did get permission to use the names (I could see DW doing that, but GW is kind of infamous about being lawsuit-happy), or 2: They're banking on the publicity of the lawsuits, after which they will immediately change the names.
Writing a post-post apocalypse LitRPG on RR. Also fanfic stuff.I'm not sure about this. The fun part of Small soldiers is Tommy Lee Jones and a bunch of awesome action movie stars (plus 90's starlets sarah Michele gellar and Christina Ricci) haming it up. Without them I dunno if this is that interesting a concept.
"That's right mortal. By channeling my divine rage into power, I have forged a new instrument in which to destroy you."Plus the bad guy of Fire & Ice. It's a pretty common villain name.
"That's right mortal. By channeling my divine rage into power, I have forged a new instrument in which to destroy you."To be fair, those are comparatively ancient films where Geedubs wasn't as big and they would definitely have nothing to gain by being litigious over them even if they did succeed. Also, I'd think they'd have to a kerfuffle over that with 20th Century Studios, who is owned by Disney, which surely would be insanity for them to even contemplate.
Wait a second, this thread is in the video game forum, and I know it's animated with a video game engine, but is this a video game? The video description sounds like it's a trailer for a movie.
Comadran Studios apparently does both games and movies, which doesn't help.

Anyway, I like how the story seems to be going for a more complex tale, as the original film had the Commandos be the deranged soldier antagonists and the Gorgonites a group of peaceful explorers cast as villains. Here the Necronite characters appear just as willing to fight as the Space Elite, with only their leader being reluctant to do so.

If you paid any attention to the box art, details are shown: such as the silver-haired Space Elite leader is Ray Razor who is a Platoon Commander, or that the Necronite Leaders' name is Khadenn, but was formerly known as Caden Cannon: Ray Razors' brother who suffered a fatal injury but was sent to the Necron Pits by Ray in order to try saving his life; even though it meant that the brother and sister were now on opposite sides of the war.
Not really, it's clearly doing the same thing? The monster leader's avoiding a fight and having his guys retreat despite clearly outnumbering the soldier girl, and doing the Spock empathic hand on glass thing while she's raging at not being able to kill him.
The soldiers meanwhile are all modelled with grotesque, psychotic faces.
Like, seriously, it's not even being subtle about it lol.

Right now it's just a "Proof of Concept" video, but it's a very good "Proof of Concept" video, created with the Unreal Engine.
