Oftentimes here in Trope Talk, we get questions about whether or not a given trope is tropeworthy enough, or is an example of the kind of non-tropes discussed in People Sit on Chairs. These threads are extremely frequent, and per discussion in the TRS meta thread, this megathread was created.
This will be a centralized place to ask: is this article I found tropeworthy? Does it convey meaning or is it used to tell the story, or is it just something that happens to exist in a work? Ask here, and hopefully you will get the answers you need.
Remember, something that is "(people sit on) chairs" means it's happenstance or conveys no meaning. Something that also happens in real life, is common, is rare, or seems minor is not the same as being chairs.
As an additional note, keep this in mind when bringing tropes in, as noted by amathieu13:

Paused Interrupt is barely above starving but I'm not even sure the idea is tropeworthy since it's about an unintentional pause in dialogue often caused by poor voice acting, i.e. not a thing the creator added to convey a specific meaning. Thoughts?

This shouldn't be a main trope. But I think it's barely thriving because it's an old trope or happens rarely. I myself never came across such trope.
Added amathieu13's note to the OP since it was pinned.

TRS Queue | Works That Require Cleanup of Complaining | Troper WallIs Hermaphrodite tropeworthy? It's just "a character who's intersex."
Doesn't sound like it. We previously disambiguated Transgender, Asexuality, and Bi The Way for similar reasons.
On top of that the term is apparently now considered offensive. Per the linked article:

TRS Queue | Works That Require Cleanup of Complaining | Troper WallIntersex Tribulations and Everybody Wants the Hermaphrodite are tropes, Hermaphrodite is more of a Useful Notes and an obsolete term.
TroperWall / WikiMagic CleanupIt is not supposed to be “intersex character”; it had semi-recent TRS that redefined it to “any species with functional M/F genitalia”. It is offensive in humans, but certainly some fantastical species could be described as hermaphroditic.
However I am not sure how well cleanup proceeded afterwards.

Well, the description consistently focuses on humans with only 2 full sentences about other species/fantasy races. The description seems to define the trope as hermaphrodites exist.
I feel like the description should be about "fictional depictions of hermaphrodites" more than just defining the hermaphrodite phenomenon. But IDK if that would change the trope too much that it'd need TRS for us to do so.
I am guessing that is because it started as a mostly-human-hermaphrodite trope and the "2 full sentences" address the expansion. A cleaner description that clarifies the scope would not be a TRS job.

Sounds like it might need a trip to the Trope Description Improvement Drive.
Is The Promise tropeworthy?
It was previously filling the role of being a supertrope for promise-themed tropes, but I just made Promises and Vows Index so that's not needed anymore.
The Promise sort of frames itself like Chekov's Promise, which could be a thing, I suppose? But at the very least the current name seems broad and chair-ish.
Edited by Eievie on Mar 13th 2023 at 2:33:37 AM
It's supposed to be for foreshadowing and plot-important promises, not just any time a character makes an irrelevant promise.
The description states, "A dramatically-made promise that serves as foreshadowing. The promise will eventually be called in and action will be required."
Like I said, Chekov's Promise?
Maybe a wick check can be done to see if the examples are ZCEs/chairs-y with "X makes one" or "the plot is about this" kinda ZCEs since the name is too broad.
Chekhov's.
I had a dog-themed avatar before it was cool."Chekhov's promise" is one way that can turn out, but not all examples need to be a Chekhov's Gun, just plot-driving. The very first example on The Promise appears to have been revealed early in the work and the entire premise:
That said, I still think a wick check might be useful since the title is a bit chairs-y.

This deaf, dumb and blind kid sure plays a mean pinball.A rename can be decided after a wick check is done first, maybe the trope is doing fine despite the chairs-y/broad name and nothing needs to be done after all. I'd make one myself but I'm busy nowadays.
Found Jet Pack by clicking on "Random Trope" a lot. Is it tropeworthy, or just "jetpacks exist"?
TRS Queue | Works That Require Cleanup of Complaining | Troper WallIt’s a common piece of fantastical magitek, like a Flying Car.
Edited by Synchronicity on Mar 14th 2023 at 2:35:10 PM
Jetpacks don't actually exist in the convenient forms found in fiction and usually serve a purpose, so unless a use check indicates high ZCE count or something, I count them among the cool gear tropes like Grappling-Hook Pistol and Hollywood Glass Cutter.
Got it. Was just curious. Thanks for the feedback.

Role-Playing Game 'Verse's Webcomics folder looks to me like it has ZCE issues and
Given how it's only at ~100 wicks pointing to it, and LitRPG exists, along with possibly broader ZCE issues, I'm wondering about its tropeworthiness.
