Fire Emblem Engage (Spoiler Thread)

I applaud IS for finally shaking up the little girl-looking manakete formula.

Finally, you have all the reason to actually punch out a child in the series.

Ever since IS made Heroes' Eitri I wanted them to make more evil gremlins, and I'm glad it's finally happening tbh.

Truthfully, it's more interesting than making vapid innocent mascot #22.

I've mentioned before that seeing the Emblems become corrupted gave me Dragon's Dogma vibes, specifically when one of the dragonkin enemies attempts to brainwash your party members into trying to kill you.

Knowing that Veyle is a dragon and might be the one doing the corrupting just adds to that vibe. I do wonder if we'll get to see Veyle's dragon form at some point in the game.

FYI, someone on Serenes Forest was fortunate to put together a summary of the chapters up to Chapter 11.

• Prologue: Some kind of premonition
• Chapter 1: Alear wakes up, the twins gets separated, fight Corrupts to save them
• Chapter 2: Tutorial time with Lumera
• Chapter 3: Lumera gets killed, fight Elusian, meets up with Alfred
• Chapter 4: Meet Celine and rescue her retainers
• Chapter 5: Fight in Firenese castle and save queen Eve
• Chapter 6: Go find Micaiah's ring in a village, meet Yunaka
• Chapter 7: Go to Brodia, meets Alcryst, defense the bridge against Hortensia
• Chapter 8: Brodian defense map against Ivy. Gets Leif after complete
• Chapter 9: Snow map, so looks like in the border between Brodia and Elusia. Fight against Ivy again. Looks like Morion is killed here, then turned into a corrupted
• Chapter 10: Fight against Hyacinth and Hortensia. Hyacinth has Lyn, Hortensia has Byleth. At the end of chapter, Sombron eats Hyacinth. Veyle is revealed to be Lumera's killer, then she steals all the rings we have (Marth, Celica, Sigurd, Roy, Micaiah, Leif) and rewinding time crystal
• Chapter 11: Escape map. No emblem rings or time rewinding. Enemy has stolen Emblems. Boss seems to be Veyle. The Four Hounds chase you down. Ivy joins mid map with Lyn and Lucina rings. Seems like next destination is Solm. Hortensia does not join at this point

About that, trailers and previews have showed 2 different models for the famed Fell Dragon (with one being far more freaky and bulky), so it's highly likely the other one is Veyle's given she's canonically a Fell Child (which IS considered a dragon class).

Hyacinth needed Royal blood to fully revive Sombron, so he kills Motion and makes him a corrupted to get it.

Also they’re going with Mage Dragon in Engage from the sounds of it. Likely due to Fell being Fallen Divine Dragond so that’s to differ Zephia.

Yeah the Bond Rings are just in class order as I hear Bernie is before Dimitri, and the Three Houses Bracelet goes Edelgard > Dimitri > Claude as the order for names as well.

Poor Flayn as the only SS representative. Not even adding Cyril as the only other student to represent them.

This isn’t all that weird this is how the datamined always shows the characters are coded in order as well. Black Eagles take priority due to coding them first, then BL, and finally GD.

Edit: The top bond isn’t always romance either, Ike’s top Bond is his sister Mist, and there’s zero romance between them. So expect incest memes about Ike and Mist now.

I'm definitely going to be expecting such jokes. Incest jokes are basically the go-to for lazy/uninventive fans.

Just to show how meaningless it is to use bond list as an example the only missing second place is likely Titania as the rest are mostly Greil Mercenaries and Lethe + Ranulf near the bottom with Greil.

Hell ILYANA made the list which is why there’s no reason to read into these beyond that.

Ike x Ranulf is an underrated ship IMO

You can get a special code from Heroes that gets you some items in Engage:

I remember one of the leaks of Engage mentioning Alfonse. I wonder if this promotion is what that leak was referring to.

The character page has been updated with some english VAs

So just gonna throw this out there but anyone else getting the feeling that the game is going to pull a Grima when it comes to the final boss.

I'm not expecting an exact repeat of Grima, but if the bit about Alear possibly being Veyle's sibling is true, we may be getting something somewhat similar if the story decides to go "Alear used to be malevolent but then became more heroic due to their experiences with others" or something like that.

I'm waiting to see what future spoilers say.

I actually wasn't expecting "Enragement Child Veyle". Good twist, IS.

She is actually just being mind controlled, essentially, through a split personality.

Lindon the old Ellusian Sage you can recruit gets one of the best game skills(+20 crit when weapon is lower than the enemies).

Also it might be possible for the Emblems to perform a miracle and bring someone back to life. They apparently talk amongst themselves about using this to revive Lumerra.

Someone posted concept art of all of the casual outfits in the game.

Mauvier and Veyle also have casual clothes, so the two will turn good eventually?
