Alan Tudyk's Disney roles are...

  • Duffle the Pilot, Narrator, and Announcer in Strange World.
  • The Scroll in Disenchanted.
  • Toucan in Encanto
  • Tuk Tuk in Raya
  • Guard, Northuldra Leader, Arendellian Soldier in Frozen 2
  • Iago in the 2019 Aladdin
  • Knows More in Wreck-It Ralph 2.
  • K 2 SO in Rogue One
  • Heihei (the chicken) and Villager #3 in Moana
  • Duke Weaselton in Zootopia
  • Alistair Krei in Big Hero 6
  • Duke Weselton in Frozen
  • King Candy / Turbo in Wreck-It Ralph.

He's made a rather memetic video on the internet of him making the various noises for Moana and then announcing "I went to Juliard" to the camera.

Hmm yeah, a rewatch on latest stuff doesn't really change my opinion. The movie better be worth it.

What does everyone think about the teaser trailer of the upcoming animated film?

Cause I think it looks great and I’m looking forward to watching it over November! [up][up][up]

I need an actual trailer, because the teaser isn't doing it for me, unfortunately.

It will take maybe two months of course, but I’m still planning on watching it as an honor of Disney becoming part of both my childhood, life, and future. [up][up][up]

Also I hope Disney understands how not only monetary gain is at stake here but rather their reputation and the faith people have in their movies.

[up] Strange World and Lightyear were disastrous to the company in terms of box office, but I don't think they are that desperate. Encanto was an enormous hit on streaming a few years ago anf Elemental, despite its terrible opening, has had great reception from the public and very stable legs.

oh hey how are you doing?

I'm tentatively optimistic for this.

So far, it comes off as someone going down some kind of "Disney Princess Movie Checklist," and it looks like Disney trying hard to present its formula again and show people it's the same as it was. Even the name comes off as kind of generic, back to basics Disney. I need trailers that show off what makes Wish, in itself, a distinct and interesting film.

Though to be fair, Princess and the Frog's early marketing gave off the same vibe (it's even also a movie about wishes, since that's a classic Disney thing), and the actual film ended up being a lot more than its early vibes made it out to be. But on the other hand, that said you can see a bit of trying to fit the mold fraying in the finished story of PATF even so.

It's mostly the artstyle that miffs me. As mentioned before, it's like they saw those movies that broke the mold and wanted to mimic them... but only did so halfheartedly.

I have a suspicion that the movie might have been originally planned to just have the typical Disney CG movie look and the decision to give it a more stylized look happened while production had already started.

That could explain why the cel-shading looks a bit sloppily integrated. Maybe it will end up looking a lot better in future trailers, when more work has been done on it?

Premiering in such turbulent and uncertain times was an awful idea anyway. I welcome this.

So because of the strikes, it might miss Disney's 100th anniversary, which was the entire point of the whole film.

[up][up]IDK what you mean by "doesn't deserve"; the only ones who need it to come out in time for the 100th anniversary are the execs, and if the choice is between them and the actual creatives, the creatives should be the ones who get what they need 100% of the time.
