Old Complete Monster cleanup thread
Welcome to the new Complete Monster (CM) cleanup thread! This thread is where we clean up or cut already-existing entries.
If you're looking to add new entries, please see the approval thread.
IMPORTANT: Before you begin any discussions on this thread, please see the Frequently Asked Questions and Common Requests List. Here, you'll find explanations of the criteria for the trope as well as our rules/procedures for approving and cutting candidates.
What goes through this thread?
- Cut requests. If you believe a CM has been approved and they do not count, this thread is where you propose their removal. To know how to go about this, please see the FAQ folder on the Administrivia page, where the process is explained in detail.
- If we ever need to consider cutting multiple examples without individually reviewing them (e.g. if we discover widespread plagiarism with a particular troper's CMs), the initial discussion will be on this thread and we'll then escalate to the mod team (as described here) to get a formal consensus if we decide to recommend a mass cut.
- If an entry was put on the wrong subpage/YMMV page, you may propose where they should be moved to.
- Full rewrites of existing entries, including expansions, trims, and ground-up rewrites. If your rewrite is approved by the thread, feel free to add it to the drafts page so that other users can check grammar and the like before it is included with the rest of the weekly swaps.
- If an entry on a work's YMMV page doesn't match the entry on the media subpage, you can bring it here to discuss which entry works better.
What does not go through this thread?
- New candidate proposals - as stated before, those are done on this thread.
- Unapproved wicks - if a Troper encounters either of these kinds of wicks, they can be cut with no approval.
- Any CM link on a non-YMMV page - as a YMMV trope, it should not be linked on those pages regardless of any cleanup effort. The only exception is if the wick is being used within the definition of another trope.
- If an CM link on a YMMV page refers to an unapproved character. If it refers to an approved character on any such page, the wick can stay. On the other hand, if the unapproved character being linked to sounds like they might have promise (and you don't feel like checking it out for yourself), feel free to mention it on the approval thread - someone may already know why they don't count, or it could invite a brand new discussion!
- Proposals for images, quotes, and videos of already-approved CMs - quotes and images are proposed on the approval thread, while videos can be uploaded normally as they are screened for approval by the moderation.
- Crosswicking examples to YMMV pages - if an example has already been approved and added to the main page, you do not require any special permission to add the example to a work's YMMV page (assuming the work has a page already). If a YMMV page doesn't exist yet, then you can make it yourself, but either way, feel free to just add the example without asking.
- Small changes to existing entries - these can simply be done on a Troper's own prerogative with no approval.
- Spelling and grammar fixes.
- Pothole changes.
- Minor rewordings.
- Spoiler tags.
While these changes do not require any kind of approval, it is requested that should you make any of these changes, you do one of the following:
- Make the same changes on the relevant Sandbox page, then add the Sandbox to the list at the bottom of the drafts page. This will add the Sandbox to the weekly swaps and ensure that the edits end up on the relevant locked page. If the Sandbox is already listed, then once you make the edits, your job is already done!
- If you don't know how the Sandboxes work or simply don't have the time to find it, then you can simply post on the thread about the changes you made. Someone else can then make the edit on the relevant Sandbox and add it to the weekly swaps.
- Alternatively, you can simply request that the change be made directly to the locked page on the Locked Pages thread. Members of this thread keep track of that one, so we will ensure that the changes are made in the Sandbox so that it doesn't get deleted during the next swap.
Again, these changes don't require any approval, but we prefer to keep the entries on the YMMV pages and the locked pages the same in order to avoid any miscommunication or errors between entries, so if you do make the change, we would greatly appreciate it if you could ensure the change is made on the locked page as well.
As a final note, we do not care what other sites have to say regarding whether or not a character counts. We have our own criteria and they have theirs for their CM equivalents; while they are similar, they are not exactly the same and should not be treated as such. Another site removing a character from their equivalent should not be a reason why a cut is proposed here, and if this is the case, it will likely lead to mod intervention.

Yeah, I say cut as well unless someone provides a really good reason why that's not mitigating
Also here's the entry for posterity's sake
- Jack Dante is the psychopathic scientist of CHAANK Industries who is the head developer of the Hardman Project, and, due to illegally ordering some supplies without the company even noticing, caused numerous of casualties that ended up staining the company's name. When the CEO, Hayden Cale, tries to confront Jack about what he has done, Jack blackmails her about her personal life. When one of the higher ups of CHAANK got his key stolen by Cale, Jack sends his machine to brutally kill said higher up; it is also revealed that he did this to previous CEO. When three eco-warriors infiltrate the company and Jack got fired from his position, Jack tricked the eco-warriors to open Vault 10 and sends his machine to kill all of the people in the office while demanding to Cale that he wants his job back, and asks her to interface him on regular basis. When the heroes tries to stop Dante once and for all, he then knocks one of them unconscious and tries to rape Cale while taunting her about her dead baby.

Couple suggestions to expand some writeups.
- Hell's Paradise: Jigokuraku:
- The Iwagakure village chief poses as an immortal to control his people. The chief raises children as ninja via grueling training which involves them killing each other and consuming a poison which causes one to feel they are being raped and tortured for three days, with nine out of ten dying from the drug's effects. Women of the village are put through the same torment and taught their only purpose is to breed children, the chief scarring his own daughter Yui's face when she states her wish for a normal life. With his army of mentally broken pawns, the chief oversees countless bloody assassinations and when his ace pupil, the current "Gabimaru the Hollow", and Yui try to leave him, the chief sets Gabimaru up to die in an ambush and isolates Yui, hoping she will die alone brokenhearted. When Gabimaru survives and is sent to the island of Kotaku on a mission by the shogunate, the chief dispatches his ninja pawns to the island to kill Gabimaru and reclaim the title, having them slaughter dozens of criminals to prove their skills to the government.
- Shogun Tokugawa Nariyoshi is a selfish, depraved manchild who loves violence as an art. The Shogun's rule sees a bigoted genocide targeting nomads, with peaceful villages regularly wiped out to the last. Having numerous convicts engage in brutal death matches, the Shogun intends to send them to the mysterious island to hunt for the elixir of immortality despite knowing most will die because the Shogun intentionally sent numerous others to their deaths on "test" voyages first. Steadily revealed to be worse and worse throughout the series, the Shogun even has entire families executed, including infants, just to watch the joy of bloodshed.
The rape-torture drug killing nine out of every ten users and the chief only having one daughter we meet of the ten he's said to have had is an implication worth noting. Likewise the Shogun has stiff competition from all the shit the chief pulls and he's indicated to have wiped out Iwagakure following the chief's execution which is populated by broken kids thanks to said chief, so I think noting that's important. Here's what I'm thinking.

So I've been told my edit to Eleanor's writeup is "more than fixing a small error" and needs to be assessed in this thread. For context's sake, here's her original writeup:
The last sentence is slightly inaccurate, as Eleanor isn't quite an Omnicidal Maniac (and for the record, I was the one to add that wick to her writeup there

Alright so having watched his episodes again. Let me propose a cut. From TMNT 2012.
- "The Curse of Savanti Romero" through "Monsters Among Us": Count Dracula, as vile as ever, is an evil vampire who killed thousands, if not millions, of people, to the point where his basement is littered with skeletons. In order to gain more minions, Dracula has his werewolves attack and bite victims; one of them is Raphael, who Dracula uses in an attempt to lure his brothers to his castle and kill them. During battle with the Turtles, Dracula attempts to bite the neck of Esmeralda, daughter of the werewolf Vulko, and turn her to his side. After joining Savanti Romero out of fear for his life, Dracula manipulates Igor into helping them create Frankenstein's Monster and manipulates both of them into joining forces with them. Dracula causes mass chaos in New York City, having his werewolves bite and brainwash victims into being his servants. After betraying Romero and brutally murdering his minion, the Mummy, Dracula attempts to take over all 10 dimensions and turn everyone into vampires, eradicating humanity from existence.
So a couple of issues with this.
- Nowhere is it stated he's killed thousands, if not millions, of people. Yeah we see skeletons in his crypt but the number is vague. And it's also a crypt. So just saying he killed everyone here when the episode doesn't say that is imo very much an issue.
- I'm going to be honest. I don't think he's heinous enough. Like yeah he plans to vampirise humanity which is shone to be reversible by his death and umh well this show has an enormous standard I don't think he crosses.
- Krang Prime plans to wipe out and terra form the earth.
- Rat king is a horrible mind rapist and sadist
- Overmimd wants to destroy the universe.
- Kavaxxas wants hell on earth.
- Shredder tries to destroy the world.
- Newtrilizer wants to wipe out the Utroms and new york. And helps Lord dregg try and destroy the earth.
- Lord Dregg wants to destroy the earth
- And Captain Mozar and Zar nanon and...Like a dozen villains.
Most of these guys also come with often horrible kick the dog moments that Drac is really lacking In. (Rat king mind raping and torturing splinter, Shredder killing Splinter's wife anf raising his daughter as evil, kavaxxas trying to eat April's soul)
All in all. I think he's outdone.

If Kavaxxas were to count it would be on the basis of like everything else he does. And whether it's worse than everyone else.
