The new one was added by Arctic Yoshi 45 with the reason "Added a more apropos quotation and picture to reflect the breadth of the trope".
I'm discussing the quote change here
. As for the image, here's the original; I like it better.

Why don't we pick the best images from the two collages and mix them together? I suggest this because the board game hobby space is becoming more mainstream these days.

This deaf, dumb and blind kid sure plays a mean pinball. My issue is that I don't get what the new one is going for since, outside of Ticket to Ride, I've never even heard of these games, so I don't understand how it's more "apropos", or how it's better at "reflect[ing] the breadth of the trope". Fan Myopia, basically.
I have seen a copy of Catan Junior in a supermarket, and in Coronation Street Wingspan made an appearance in one episode.
This deaf, dumb and blind kid sure plays a mean pinball.I prefer the current. It shows a greater variety of board game types. We might replace one of them with one in the current, but I don't think it is needed.
Fjón þvæ ég af mér fjanda minna rán og reiði ríkra manna. After looking it up, I see that three of the games in the new pic are fairly new (Azul is from 2017, Root from 2018 and Wingspan from 2019). That's why I'm unfamiliar with them, these are probably better known among tabletop-gaming circles.
Like I said, this new one feels like Fan Myopia, while the old one shows games most people would be familiar with.
ETA:
If it's aiming for variety, maybe a better caption would help?

Whoops! I wanted to say I prefer the original.
Fjón þvæ ég af mér fjanda minna rán og reiði ríkra manna.Maybe a mixture of obscure and well known games could be a good idea.
This deaf, dumb and blind kid sure plays a mean pinball. If we're going by variety, I'd aim for different kinds of tabletop games.
- A "traditional" board game, such as Monopoly, Risk, Settlers of Catan, Candy Land, etc.
- A card game, such as Uno or Magic: The Gathering
- A tabletop RPG, such as Dungeons & Dragons or Warhammer
- A public domain one, such as Chess or Go
Don't we already have a Tabletop Games page? Also Warhammer isn't a TTRPG, it is a miniature wargame that has a TTRPG.

This deaf, dumb and blind kid sure plays a mean pinball.Board Games are a type of Tabletop Game that have a board you play on. Not all Tabletop Games have a board.
