Some of the Big Brother pages are normal and quite short, but there is an anomaly that I fear to take on alone: For whatever reason, seasons 16-20 of the US series got a TON of attention as they were airing.

Walls of text. YMMV tropes everywhere. Speculation about how the season will end that no one bothered to update. Flat-out insulting the contestants. Every single black female being troped as a Sassy Black Woman and/or a Scary Black Woman. It's a nightmare to sort through and I could use a little help here.

I'm going to start by questioning whether Scary Black Woman should be No-real life examples and removing the following.

This shouldn't need a folder but man are these long

  • Scary Black Woman: Played straight, especially when she gets enraged or angered. Da'Vonne is known to be very Hot-Blooded with a Hair-Trigger Temper and she can get set off rather easily to the point whee eh really loses her cool. A prime example of Da'Vonne coming off as very intimidating and playing into the unfortunate stereotype of the black woman was during a Jury House segment. Da'Vonne and Paulie had gotten into a huge fight in which Da'Vonne was resenting Paulie for him managing to snake his way back into Zakiyah's good graces. Da'Vonne was acting petty towards Zakiyah and Paulie because of it and this angered Paulie very much. Paulie and Da'Vonne exchanged personal jabs at each other such as Da'Vonne attacking Paul's height and calling him short and a little man and that he "had to be at least 6'0" tall to talk to her" while on the other hand, Paulie repeatedly called Da'Vonne classless and ghetto. But what really pushed Da'Vonne into downright scary and intimidating mode was when Pauli had the audacity to bring up Da'Vonne's daughter in the conversation by saying that Da'Vonne is setting a bad example for her daughter by the way she is acting and displaying ghetto behavior. Da'Vonne DID NOT take this well and she ended up getting up into Paul's face to the point where it appeared as though Da'Vonne was going to physically hit him. She got so into his face that the filters and producers had to step in to break up the fight between them. One thing is for certain, DO NOT attack her daughter or bring her up because Da'Vonne can sure become scary, intimidating and crazy!

  • Scary Black Woman: When Bayleigh loses her cool, she's absolutely scary and out of control. In Week 6, Bayleigh goes ballistic during a fight with Tyler after calls her out in front of the house for making up lies about how he wanted Angela to go on the block last week when she was HOH. Bayleigh was so angry that she was screaming like a banshee. She said that she was is blind with anger and rage that she "blacked out" and managed to bite her inner cheek while yelling so profoundly. Yikes!. She lampshaded after being evicted that it was okay to come hug her because she was no longer the "scary black woman".

So, the NRLEP policy doesn't really impact reality shows because everything is edited and sometimes pushed into a direction by the producers; so those women couldn't be called a Sassy Black Woman in real life, but the show isn't real life.

The wall of text, though, is a problem.

I don't know the show but I think using Scary Black Man for anytime a black person gets angry or intimidating is diluting the trope. It's supposed to be a stereotype and I can't tell if these women are supposed to represent it based on these entries.

They each got in about one fight each from what I can tell so I really don't think they qualify

Anyhoo some stuff snipped for being too long from Big Brother 16 The Jury

     Jeez this stuff is long
  • Abhorrent Admirer: Seems to be one for Derrick. Victoria seems to have a major crush on Derrick, but Derrick doesn't like Victoria in that way. He sees her as more of a sister. Plus, it is obvious that in some of their interactions with each other, Derrick gets downright tired of Victoria. However, it's later shown that she doesn't have a crush on him; he's just her only friend left (as she hates Cody), and is largely upset that their alliance doesn't have a name.
  • Hated by All: A lot of people in the house found Victoria annoying and intolerable. The only people in the house that seemed to like Victoria were Nicole and Derrick. During the week that there were no Have Nots and all of the beds were going to be free to use, Zach had said that nobody in the house wanted to sleep in the same bed as Victoria. Brittany commented that she didn't like Victoria because she found her to be a high maintenance Drama Queen and a ton of work to be around. Amber didn't like Victoria because Victoria was always catty and jealous towards her. Hayden wasn't a fan of having Victoria around because she seemed to display Clingy Jealous Girl tendencies around him and he was in a romantic relationship with Nicole. Christine hated Victoria because she found her annoying and useless in the game. Frankie used to like Victoria at the beginning but he started to see her as nothing more than a pawn to be put on the block repeatedly. Zach despises Victoria on a personal level and a game related level (even though they had plenty of sweet moments together). He has repeatedly stated how much he dislikes Victoria because she's useless and dumb. It didn't help matters when Victoria ended up cutting up Zach's pink hat in order to get revenge against him for the way that he treated her. Caleb just found Victoria annoying and a nuisance. Derrick was probably one of the only people in the house that genuinely liked Victoria and treated her like a younger sister. Despite this, it's clear that he was just using her for his game and he was manipulating her.
  • Odd Couple: With Zach.
  • Odd Friendship: With Derrick and Zach.
-
  • Knight In Shining Armour: Saw himself as this for Amber.
  • Knight in Sour Armour: Saw himself as this for Amber.
  • Yandere: In regards to Amber, Caleb was Not Good with Rejection and he veered into Crazy Jealous Guy and If I Can't Have You… territory! He got very jealous of Amber flirting with the other male houseguests, notably Cody and because of this, Caleb wanted Cody out of the house in order to get him out of the way. The CBS live show editing of the Caleb/Amber relationship made it come across as though Caleb's attraction to Amber was on Fatal Attraction levels. He became a Stalker with a Crush, following Amber all around the house and constantly trying to get her to say yes to a date with him in the real world. Caleb talked about Amber non-stop on the live feeds as well as on the live show. In fact, Caleb talked about her so much that it seemed as though the only word in Caleb's vocabulary was AMBER, AMBER, AMBER. Many of his allies, such as Devin, Cody, Zach, Derrick and Frankie, felt that Caleb's obsession with Amber was costing him his game and putting his alliance in jeopardy because he was blinded by his infatuation for her. What made Caleb come across as even more pathetic was that Amber didn't even like him. So his obsession with Amber was one sided and came across as more creepy and stalker-ish.
-
  • The Bluebeard: A Ho Yay version between Zach and Frankie, known as Zankie. Frankie was often sen as being in a sort of showmance with Zach. They were initially very close and had a strong bond and relationship both on personal and game level. But Zach started to act sketchy die to his chaotic, aggressive and irrational gameplay and behavior. This caused Frankie to start to distrust Zach and he eventually turned on him. When Frankie won HOH, he backdoored Zach after having Caleb taken off the block with the POV. Zach was evicted afterwards. Frankie also showed little to no remorse for backstabbing his once closest ally and "showmantic" partner in the game. Frankie received a lot of criticism, hate and backlash for turning on Zach and whatever popularity Frankie did have went down the drain.
  • Classic Villain: Frankie seems to have some of the criteria of this trope such as Pride, Greed, Lust and Envy. He is Pride because Frankie is very arrogant, cocky, smug and constantly brags about himself and his accomplishments, indicating a very self absorbed, selfish, narcissistic and vain personality. He is Greed, because he seems to only want to look out for himself and puts himself before anyone else; he is also in the game for the money and openly says that he doesn't really necessarily care about making friends. Frankie is Lust, because he has shown that he is very sexually perverted and lustful by always touching, fondling and caressing the other straight male houseguests much to their discomfort. And finally, Frankie exhibits traits of Envy since he has openly admitted that he is a jealous person by nature; he has shown that he is possibly jealous of his sister Ariana due to living in her shadow and her having fame and fortune while he doesn't. Frankie also admitted that he was jealous of Zach, his popularity and the attention he receives from Julie Chen as well as Donny for being popular with the viewers.
  • Invincible Minor Minion: Frankie seemed to have proven that he was unstoppable for a long period of time due to the fact that he won endless competitions to fight and stay in the game. This is now subverted as in Week 11, Frankie was tempted into pushing the Big Brother Rewind button which activated the twist which would rewind the entire game by a week. This twist that Frankie (and everyone else) activated ended up being Frankie's ultimate undoing in the game since not only did he lose his power (of being both the HOH and POV holder), but his nominees (Cody and Victoria) came off the block, there was no eviction, Frankie lost HOH to Caleb, Caleb turned his back on him for Derrick and Cody and nominated him for eviction and Frankie lost POV to Cody. And to top it all off, Frankie's demise was all manipulated and orchestrated by his ally and own fellow Team America member, Derrick. Guess Frankie was not so invincible after all.
  • The Juggernaut: Frankie is a competition beast and so far, it has been extremely hard for the other houseguests to take him out. Whenever Frankie happens to be in danger or happens to be huge target for eviction, Frankie ends up winning a competition which would ensure his safety. For example, the week when Frankie was nominated alongside Caleb, Frankie manages to win the BOTB competition singlehandedly without Caleb's help, ensuring his safety. Or during the Double Eviction, Derrick as HOH wanted to take Frankie out of the game, yet Frankie managed to pull off a POV win. On top of it, Frankie ended up winning the Final 5 Ho H, although due to the BB Rewind twist/button being pressed or activated, Frankie's HOH week will be deems dull and void. Whether or not Frankie will find himself vulnerable down the line is yet to be seen.
  • Love Makes You Evil: An interesting case in regards to himself and Zach. After Frankie backstabbed and betrayed Zach openly, this is when Frankie started to reveal his true character and did a Face–Heel Turn. Before, Frankie seemed like he was somewhat likable especially around Zach, but after he betrayed Zach, Frankie took such a 180 degree turn in his character and fell to The Dark Side. By betraying Zach the way he did openly, Frankie was basically letting everyone, including Zach, know that his true loyalties lied with Derrick (and Caleb) instead of Zach. Some fans are suggesting that Frankie betrayed Zach because he was in love with him and couldn't handle being in love with a straight guy and/or he was equally jealous of and threatened by Zach and how much attention he received, knowing that he could be the potential star of the season.
-
  • Abhorrent Admirer: Could be seen as this to Cody. Although Cody didn't openly reject her, it could be assumed that Cody was not attracted to Christine whatsoever and was probably using her or flirting with her simply for strategy. Cody obviously used flirting as a strategy in the game as he was seen to be constantly flirting with all of the other female houseguests. Cody even admitted in the DR that he only saw Christine as a friend and did not see her in a romantic sense. Christine herself admitted that she would use her sexuality and flirt with the male houseguests as a strategy in attempts to get farther in the game. Cody contemplated putting Christine on the block and voting her out. He ends up following through when he votes Christine out on Double Eviction, showing that his relationship with Christine was nothing more than game and that he did not have any loyalty to her over his boys.
  • Action Girl: Used to be The Load early on in the game when she didn't prove herself competitively, but as of lately, Christine has stepped up her game and has been winning more competitions as of late, especially after she was first nominated. Her fellow Detonator alliance members even commented that they feel that Christine is a huge threat competitively. Christine is particularly strong at mental competitions and physical competitions. Christine showed how much of a physical threat she was when she almost beat Caleb in the Week 10 Endurance Competition, which involved slipping and sliding and gathering liquid to fill up a large jar (other notable past houseguests who have won this competition have been Jeff Schroeder, Shane Meaney, and Becky Burgess). The guys felt threatened by Christine's strong mental and physical prowess and even called her "a beast". Hard to believe that the girl that the alliance saw as useless in the game became one of the stronger female competitors and players along with Nicole.
  • Yandere: Christine is this for Cody, because it's clear that she had a strong infatuation with Cody. She was a Clingy Jealous Girl towards him and became a borderline Stalker with a Crush when it comes to him. She is always in Cody's space trying to cuddle with him and she follows him around the house whenever possible. She was also noticeably jealous when other female houseguests would interact, flirt or act friendly towards Cody. Whenever Cody would flirt with Amber, Brittany, or Nicole, Christine would end up being in the background and giving all of the girls interacting with Cody extremely dirty and petty looks. Her infatuation with Cody isn't anywhere near the same level as Caleb's infatuation with Amber was, but it was pretty close. Also, considering that Christine was married and was acting jealous and clingy towards Cody made their relationship come off as more unfavorable.
-
  • Bash Brothers: With Cody, Derrick, Frankie, Caleb and Donny. With Cody, he had a very close friendship with him and bonded with him in the very beginning. However, as the game went on, Zach became more distant from Cody as many lies were being told to Cody about Zach by Frankie. This caused an extreme distrust between the two and the two drifted apart in the game. Zach was also close to Derrick and looked up to him. Derrick would often give Zach both game related advice and personal related advice. Zach even told Derrick that if he made Final 2, he would vote for him to win in the end (and he did). Zach's closest ally in the game used to be Frankie. They had a very close friendship and bond in the house and they had a Final 2 alliance in which they called themselves "Zankie". However, things took a sour turn for Zach and Frankie when Zach found out that Frankie betrayed him and threw him under thus along with Christine. After that, Zach and Frankie never trusted each other in the game again. Zach and Caleb became close as well and they bonded over fun times. Caleb has said that one of the houseguests he would miss the most if they left was Zach. And finally, Zach developed a very heartwarming friendship with Donny in the later weeks of the game. Zach has said that he really loves Donny as a person and that he felt really bad for Donny that he was so alone in the game. Zach and Donny bond over being left out and being the outsiders in the house and Donny and Zach had told each other that they will have each other's backs as much as possible. Although Zach had a relationship with all of the guys, in the end, the person whom Zach trusted the most was Donny.
  • Born Lucky: Has been nominated twice and has managed to not be evicted without even campaigning to the house to stay. During his first time being nominated, Zach stood up to Devin, the HOH, and told him openly that he wanted Brittany to stay, which put a target on Zach's back. Zach then told Devin to nominate him if the POV was used. Zach was backdoored by his own alliance member, called Devin out in front of the entire house, blew up his own alliance (the Bomb Squad), and still managed to stay by a 10-2 vote. During his second time nominated, Zach lost HOH, was nominated, lost BOTB, and lost POV. Zach was public enemy #1 and was planning on being voted out by his own alliance (Derrick, Cody, Frankie, Christine, Caleb) yet Caleb managed to save Zach and convince everyone to keep Zach in the house. So even though Zach was the number one target both times he was nominated, he still ended up not going home. Zach was nominated a third time but won the POV and will save himself from the block. In week 8, Zach was prevented from being nominated by a Skittle draw. Zach definitely seems to have nine lives in this game.
  • Born Unlucky: Despite having quite a bit of luck in the game, Zach has also had the worst luck and the hardest road in the house. He has been thrown under the bus repeatedly by his allies, comes in second (just shy of winning) in almost all of the competitions, had his number one ally in the game (Frankie) not only backstab him but nominate him by backdooring him, and has repeatedly been chosen as the scapegoat for Team America tasks which only puts a bigger target on his back. Zach is also frequently targeted from week to week and is always public enemy number one. It doesn't help that although production seems to love Zach for entertainment purposes, they also hate him at the same time.
  • Breakout Character: Many fans consider Zach to be the "star" of Big Brother 16. Many fans flat out say that Zach is Big Brother 16. Zach's star status is not surprising considering he has a very large fan base and the support of many Big Brother alumni, winners and greats such as Dr. Will Kirby, Janelle Pierzina, Rachel Reilly, Elissa Reilly, Andy Herren, Hayden Moss, Britney Haynes, Danielle Reyes, Jeff Schroeder, Evel Dick Donato, James Rhine, Kaysar Ridha, Daniele Donato, Dan Gheesling and Ian Terry (just to name a few). Survivor alumni Russell Hantz and Spencer Bledsoe are also fans of Zach. Even pop stars and celebrities LaToya Jackson and Ariana Grande are Team Zach. Zach was in the top three for America's Favorite Houseguest at the end of the season, solidifying the fact that Zach was one of this season's fan favorites and most popular houseguests.
  • The Chessmaster: Likes to manipulate the other houseguests by using them and getting them to turn on each other for his own amusement and in order to create chaos. For example, Zach managed to manipulate both Caleb and Amber and turn them against each other. Zach managed to get Caleb to dislike Amber enough so that he wouldn't care if she were to be nominated. Zach's plan of manipulating Caleb into disliking Amber and turning against her managed to work as Amber was successfully backdoored by Frankie with Caleb's encouragement. Because Zach distrusted Christine, Zach manipulated both Derrick and Cody into distrusting Christine and also got them to see that Hayden was a huge threat. Zach successfully turned the entire house against Frankie & Christine, getting everyone to hate them and to target them. Zach also manipulated Christine, who hates him to begin with, into nominating and backdooring her once closest ally in the game, Nicole and also got Nicole to be target for eviction all because he wanted to keep Donny in the game.
-
  • Worf Had the Flu: A very genuine case of Real Life Writes the Plot. In week 3, Jocasta got a stomach bug. She went on the block as a pawn at the worst possible time. During the Battle of the Block Competition, it was too hot and she didn't have anything to drink and was suspended mid-air in a harness, which only helped make her feel worse, and lost the challenge. She complained she was about to throw up after the competition ended, and needed a little help from Donny to steady herself. Caleb had to help her back into the house, and Caleb helped rush Joscasta to the toilet, where she finally puked. Donny suggested they could put a new liner on a trash can and have it by her bedside, and in her accompanying Diary Room session, she looks like and sounds like hell. She took ill, remaining bedridden and too sick to compete for the veto, so Derrick nominated someone on her behalf to compete (not on the block- as a stand-in) and Donny took her place. Fortunately, the plan to backdoor Devin fell into place when Donny won.

Ok for some reason there's tons of Text Walls on the trope Hated by All, so here's a purge:

     Purging the hatred
  • Hated by All: Devin became extremely hated and disliked in the house. At the start, he had build a lot of allies by making a huge alliance called the Bomb Squad. Once his allies and the rest of the house noticed how Devin was becoming extremely controlling, they started to turn against him. It didn't help that Devin was completely erratic in his game making decisions. In the second week, he made a silly decision to put his own ally Zach on the block which only managed to cause chaos and mistrust amongst his allies. After making such an impulsive and erratic game move, all of the other members of the Bomb Squad started to realize that Devin was a liability to their game because of his unpredictability. In addition his unpredictable game moves which caused him to come across as untrustworthy, many of the other houseguests frequently complained that they felt Devin was The Bully who talked down to people when he didn't get his way. He would frequently talk down to the female houseguests in the house, notably Amber, Brittany, Paola, and Christine. By Week 3, he was public enemy number one and became the biggest target in the house. Everyone in the house, including his own allies such as Derrick, Caleb, Frankie, Zach, and Cody, wanted him out. Because of his bad behavior, Devin ended up being ostracized by everyone in the house and nobody wanted to interact with him, work with him or align with him. However, his eviction is taken in good spirits and the house is very quick to praise him as a good person... but not as a good player. Zack definitely grills him by calling him one of the worst players in the history of Big Brother because his social game was "godawful".
  • Hated by All: Nobody liked Joey in the house; they didn't hate her, they just felt annoyed by her wacky ideas and behavior. At the beginning, Joey wasn't much of a problem for anyone, but after a few days, the house learned she simply cannot dial it down. Joey was so wild and eccentric even houseguests like Frankie were overwhelmed by how manic she could be. Everyone thought that she was extremely strange. She was disliked and distrusted by both the men and the women in the house. The women disliked her because she was trying to start an all girls alliance so that they would be able to take out some of the male houseguests. Unfortunately for the majority of the women, they didn't want to separate from being aligned with the men. Plus, some women like Amber and Jocasta were against it because Amber was part of an alliance that involved mostly men (the Bomb Squad) and Jocasta thought it was beyond crazy for Joey to want to get all of the women in the house together to form an alliance because it would be too obvious. For that reason, Amber and Jocasta targeted Joey and Amber ended up ratting Joey out to the rest of her alliance which made her public enemy number one to the rest of the house. The men also disliked and distrusted Joey as well because she was trying to split the house and create waves which would end up causing tension and drama between everyone. The guys of the house ended up targeting Joey simply because she made attempts to get all of the women together and join in an all girls alliance. And then Joey did something unimaginably stupid when she dressed up in drag and assumed the persona of Alex, an insanely annoying fellow who campaigned for "his" own safety by shouting at the top of "his" lungs and cussing, which made everybody see her as cuckoo bananas. As a result of Joey's poor gameplay, the Bomb Squad and Caleb (as the HOH in the first week) ended up targeting her and putting her on the block, in which she was voted out. Nobody seemed to feel sorry for Joey being on the chopping block and finally getting evicted.
  • Hated by All: Nearly everyone in the house couldn't stand Tiffany. They found her to be extremely annoying because she would have constant emotional breakdowns. She became an early target for the other houseguests because many feared that she was playing a near identical game to her older sister Vanessa. They also hated Tiffany's constant paranoia which she happened to spread around the house. Houseguests, such as Paulie, Paul, Frank, Da'Vonne, Nicole, and Michelle, found Tiffany intolerable because she would constantly get overly emotional and have a constant Freak Out. Because of Tiffany's over the top emotional and crazy behavior, she became a target very early on in the game and she was an early boot. The only one who had any degree of compassion and empathy for Tiffany was Natalie and even she admitted that she got annoyed with Tiffany's behavior behind her back. Later on the live feeds, in an assessment of who would be easiest to live with, Paul rated everyone. When he got to Tiffany, he started with "Dear God" and from there it just got worse as he talked about her outbursts.
  • Hated by All: Downplayed. Although Matt is nowhere near as universally hated in the house as Raven is, he's still looked down upon by his fellow houseguests. The only person in the house that seems to find Matt tolerable is Raven. Every single houseguest has treated Matt as if he is a leper. Paul, although he was in an alliance with him, had commented privately that he found Matt to be irritating because he wasn't useful in the game — all Matt did was play house with Raven and lose competitions. Paul used Matt as a vote or a pawn and nothing more. Kevin has openly stated that he has found Matt (and Raven) to be incredibly annoying. The dislike between the two reared its ugly head in Week 9 when the two of them got into a huge altercation. Cody said that Matt is, annoyingly, one of the most useless players in the entire house. All of the houseguests have shunned him for his association with Raven.
  • Hated by All: As of the later weeks, nearly everyone in the house has come to dislike or hate Raven. Raven has shown that she's not the nice and friendly person that she tried to pass herself off as at the start. The other houseguests with the exception of Matt have commented how they dislike Raven's personality because she is an Attention Whore who tries to be the centre of attention constantly. Others are just annoyed by Raven's attitude and how she's a Consummate Liar who embellishes stories or makes exaggerations about her physical illnesses including her Gastroparesis. Alex has stated that she can't stand Raven because she comes off as attention seeking and a huge liar. Paul says that Raven is annoying because she constantly tries to include herself in his conversations and copy what he says. Christmas dislikes Raven because she has a habit of taking her stuff without even asking. Cody disliked Raven because she had told many lies about her turning Cody down romantically and how he made installs about her inability to have children. The majority of the house is NOT a fan of Raven and her attempts at trying use her illness to earn sympathy from the house isn't working.

Be on the lookout for Fatal Flaw examples. I've seen some followed by subbulleted tropes in BB sheets.

I've also cleaned up a text wall or two doing TRS cleanup for Hundred Percent Adoration Rating. In one case, one Wall of Text example was split into two separate examples.

This does genuinely seem to be a gross/racist/bully cast but the walls of text... they are too much

Trimming coming shortly

Ok let's do this one at a time

    The first boot
  • Too Dumb to Live: Cameron went into "Hit the Road" thinking it would be best not to show everybody he was a threat, but unlike the traditional two-part HOH opener, this one came with the risk of randomly going on the block as opposed to being nominated, and Cameron brought the wrong strategy to the table. He did the exact opposite of the situation that took place in Season 15 where three of the guys who stayed in the first competition the longest went out first back-to-back... and got screwed when he was one of the unlucky three next to Jillian and Christmas (whose run would only get unluckier as this would be one of her only times showing her athleticism before sustaining a broken foot) and lost his safety and was stuck campaigning against two pretty ladies to stay in the game.

Removing this because it's not even a good example of the trope AND is a wall of text

No?

  • Doomed Moral Victor: Cameron's own fault, in fact. He blew his chances for safety by throwing the challenge, then, sounding very awkward in front of everyone, couldn't do a thing to convince them to keep him around. The catcher? He was the only contestant this season who actually wanted to play the game for himself right from the beginning- like people really should do- and probably wouldn't have been taken in by Paul and could have kept the season from becoming "Big Paul" where competitions were thrown left and right, half the cast didn't even try to strategize because they were Paul's lapdogs, and practically everybody turned out to be worse off because of it. Cameron could have saved us from a season of misery at the hands of Paul. Or maybe not- Paul is so controlling and elevated onto a pedestal that nothing could have feasibly stood in his way after he got the Pendant of Protection.

Wall of text and I fail to see how he is the doomed moral victor here.

  • Always Someone Better: He's essentially the beta male to Cody's alpha male. Cameron knows how to find the learning curve at challenges and was really in the zone during the competitions in the Battle-Back Showdown. In Billboard Bashers, he initially had the advantage against Cody, but he lost his edge when he knocked out so many board panels it became hard to be precise. He lacked the stern focus Cody did to look at problem calmly and simply modify his launch power to a slow release to be more controlled. Instead, he started winging balls in the direction of the panels at aggressive speeds and overthought the issue.

Trimmed down a lot.

I would like Paul's Pronouns to be changed to they/them among other things despite the show being beforethey transitioned, but yes, the 19 page is a mess though I think it's more complaining about the HGs rather than actually being constructive. That's why I like the newer page format of having less complaining.

Fair warning: I can get pretty emotional and take things too seriously.

I removed every Buxom Is Better entry, but since I saw a lot of creepy speculation about whether contestants with big boobs had cosmetic procedures I'll be checking Big-Breast Pride too.

Edit: Not sure if creepy gushing or body shaming is going on here. Maybe both. The worst of it's on Elena. I removed a couple of Big-Breast Pride entries as they amounted to "woman with big boobs wears revealing clothes".

This is frustrating because on the one hand this isn't technically real-life, but the real people are actually getting bodyshamed and slandered and whatnot.

Ok back to the first boots

Second boot (quit due to PTSD so I'm just removing the nastier stuff on principle)
  • Alpha Bitch: Downplayed and Subverted. According to the other houseguests, Megan was a bitch and she was extremely unlikeable. She didn't get along with any of the houseguests and she had a big attitude. Much of her poor behavior could be a Freudian Excuse as she did have PTSD. But her bitchiness and her bossy personality (at least before she had an emotional breakdown) turned many people off and rubbed everyone the wrong way. However, on the outside of the house, she doesn't seem to be a bitch and in fact, comes off as more of a Nice Girl who was just a victim in all of the misunderstanding that happened in the house.

Ok this is just... not that trope then jesus

  • Big Beautiful Woman: Averted. Megan is overweight and is one of the larger set women of the season. However, she's not physically beautiful or attractive and she's much more of a Plain Jane who's a tomboy.

SHE'S NOT BEAUTIFUL G Uy S

  • The Big Girl: Megan was one of the larger set women of the season. Not only was she larger set in terms of her physique but she was also one of the taller female houseguests as well. Most of the other women in the house have slimmer or slighter builds and they are much shorter in height. However, she subverts this trope because although she fits the trope physically (being a taller, larger set female), it's uncertain if she was a competitor since she didn't have a chance to show her competitiveness or athleticism due to quitting the game.

She subverts this trope too so lmao

  • The Bore: Played Straight. Megan was said to be extremely dull and boring according to the other houseguests. She didn't have much of a personality and she hated having fun while in the house. When the houseguests were having fun socializing with each other, Megan had told everyone to be quiet and stop having fun because she was trying to sleep. Does Megan not understand the concept of Big Brother is socializing and interacting with the other houseguests? Does she not realize that telling people to stop having fun and socializing with each other is a way to get yourself targeted early in the game? Not only did she not provide anything of substance or value in the game but her DR sessions were as monotonous, dull and boring as her personality was. Outside of the house, Megan is more of a contemplative and whimsical person.

Take that Megan.

  • Despair Event Horizon: Megan ends up suffering a complete breakdown after she gets into arguments and confrontations with Alex, Jessica, Cody and Josh. Not to mention that Megan was completely disliked by the rest of the house and nobody liked her on a personal level. She loses hope that anyone would believe her regarding what happened about the Alex and Jessica situation and feels that she can't take all of the chaos that's surrounding her. As a result, Megan ends up breaking down in the DR and quits the game. It turned out that Megan broke down and quit the game because she has PTSD (due to being sexually assaulted by a man in the military and being a veteran in the military) and it was triggered by all of the excessive confrontation that was being hurled at her all at once.

Trimmed down for being too long

  • Does Not Like Men: Megan appeared to have not gotten along with any of the men in the house, mostly Josh and Cody. She made it clear that she didn't feel comfortable around them because they had been attacking her constantly and bullying her. Cody straight up told Megan to her face that he didn't like her while he was giving his nomination speech in front of the entire house during his nomination speech when he was nominating her. Megan didn't take Cody's comment against her very lightly and she bared a grudge against him. Josh also went on the track against Megan during the first HOH competition where he flat out told Megan that he didn't like her to her face because he thought that she was a snake and was untrustworthy in addition to feeling like Megan would target him if she got handed the HOH due to their group winning. Cody and Josh continued to personally attack Megan and bully her until she eventually couldn't take the bullying anymore and had a complete emotional and mental breakdown in the DR to the point where she quit and left the game. It was later revealed that Megan had a standoffish approach to many of the men in the house because they triggered her PTSD. It was also revealed that she was sexually assaulted in the military by male soldiers in the military and that is why she is wary around men in general. However, her opinions on men are contradictory since Megan stated in her pre season interviews that she prefers the company of men over women and even downright said that she can't stand the company of women or being around her making her come across as a Female Misogynist.

I don't even know where to start with this one so I'm just gonna remove it for being a Wall of Text

  • Dramatic Irony: When she left the game, Alex replaced her on the block, and the house didn't want her to go and were feeling sore about the "Panda" name-calling incident that made her into a fool. Instead, Jillian, the person put up as a pawn to get her out, was voted out.

This isn't dramatic irony lol.

  • Dumb Blonde: As seen in her military pictures, Megan's natural hair color without the dye is blonde. She is by no means stupid, but she qualifies for the trope due to making pestilent comments in the house that got thrown back in her face.

So she's not dumb or currently blond. Seems legit.

  • Hysterical Woman: It was evident that Megan was on the emotionally and mentally unstable side but it's justified since she suffers from Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. After getting into a fight with four different houseguests, Megan had a huge breakdown and ended up quitting the game due to her emotional instability and mental illness.

I just feel slimy leaving this there.

  • The Lad-ette: Megan is very tomboyish. She seems to have a strong inclination to engage in more male dominated pastimes. She's also One of the Boys and prefers to hang out with men over women mostly due to her experience in the military.

I thought she hated men based on that earlier trope I cut. Pick a side please.

  • No Social Skills: Megan was apparently highly anti social while she was in the house. According to Cody during his interview with Dominique, there was a situation when Megan had told the entire house while they were socializing and talking with each other to be quiet and stop talking just so that she could get some sleep. Cody, who isn't even the most sociable person himself, even admitted that Megan telling everyone to be quiet and stop socializing or having fun was one of the worst social moves in Big Brother history. Her lack of ability at getting along with some of the other houseguests also made her social game very weak. During the time she was in the house, she had gotten into fights, arguments, confrontations or disagreements with four different houseguests, Josh, Cody, Jessica, and Alex, in the first week alone. Josh called out Megan for being untrustworthy and being a snake. Cody straight up admitted to Megan while he nominated her that the reason he out her on the block was because he simply didn't like her on a personal level. Jessica grew to hate Megan because she was lying about her being a racist due to misconstruing something that Jessica had said about Alex—Megan mistakenly thought that Jessica called Jessica "Panda" (a racial slur word for someone of Chinese descent) when she actually called Alex "Pao Pao" due to her strong (mostly of a physical nature) similarities to past BB16 houseguests Paola Shea. And Alex blew a gasket at Megan once she discovered that Megan was trying to destroy Jessica's reputation by making up a lie that she's racist and that she called her a racial slur word. Megan's social skills and social game was so terrible that everyone unanimously wanted her out. When Megan quit and left the game, everyone was relieved and somewhat pleased, even though there were some houseguests that felt compassion and sympathy for her situation. It's safe to say that overall, Megan had one of the worst social games of the entire season and she just did not fit in with this group at all right off the bat.

Wall of text, snipped.

  • One of the Boys: Megan states in her pre season interview that she doesn't like to hang out with other women and she prefers the company of men over women. Her inclination to hanging out with men over women shows that she may be a Female Misogynist. Interestingly enough, Megan didn't really get along with any of the guys in the house, despite her preference of associating with men. Cody and Josh simply couldn't stand her and wanted her out of the house ASAP.

Wall of text, badly used trope, contradictory, etc.

  • The Squadette: Megan is a classic tomboy who was a veteran in the military. Because she was surrounded by mostly men in the military, she's most definitely One of the Boys who prefers the company of men over women and she even states as much in her pre-season interview.

I had a look at the page history for series 19, and it looked like most of the edits came from two tropers: hiddenelastic and Maddoxsort. hiddenelastic wrote the walls of text we're now wrangling (and got banned for the same reason), while Maddox is still active and added one or two sentences to the walls of text (and expressed concern about hiddenelastic's edits). Will it be worth messaging Maddox about this thread?

Honestly might be, especially since they've probably seen the show before that could really help.

     Third boot
  • Big Beautiful Woman: Downplayed. Jillian was slightly overweight while she was in the house but she was nowhere near fat or obese. Despite her weight struggles, Jillian was a very pretty and attractive girl with a pleasant personality to boot.

um ok

  • Incorruptible Pure Pureness: Despite some of her more irritating qualities–such as her naivety, her gullibility and her flightiness–Jillian is ultimately the nicest person. When you compare her character to the other houseguests, she's the epitome of goodness and kindness. Unfortunately, her goodness and kindness was taken advantage of and she was sent home for it. Even when things got bad, she never let her personality or character be corrupted by any dark force or influence. After all of the other houseguests had turned into complete train wreaks and many of them became villains who did a Face–Heel Turn due to becoming The Corruptible to Paul, Jillian ended up being seen as the nicest person in the house filled with a bunch of horrible people. Let's not forget that Jillian was also wary of Paul and had warned other people about how dangerous and corrupting Paul and his influence would be on the other and she was completely right. It shows that she was not fooled by Paul and his manipulations from the start and that she never would be, unlike her friend Alex.

Trimmed.

  • Kill the Cutie: Jillian was completely blindsided when she was evicted that she even ended up having a shocked expression along with a Jaw Drop. She couldn't believe that she was evicted and she expected Christmas to be the one that was going home. Even though she was evicted, it was still sad to see such a nice person-but one that was incredibly gullible and naive at the same time–be complete blindsided because she had thought that she was the one that was staying over Christmas. Even though Jillian was pretty much a non entity in regards to personality, she was still too nice to be blindsided like that, especially when one realizes that she was so much nicer than 90% of the rest of the cast who turned out to be such terrible people.

Trimmed.

  • Valley Girl: Downplayed. Jillian dresses a little glitzy and has some airheaded moments, but she's by no means a drip.
  • Walking Swimsuit Scene: If she's not in a cocktail dress, chances are Jillian's rocking a sexy swimsuit. It's worth noting Jillian lives in coastal Florida and has a Tijuana tattoo- she loves beaches.
  • We Hardly Knew Ye: Sent home at the end of the first week, receiving minimal screentime due to her status as a pawn. To drive the point home, she had zero diary rooms on her eviction episode. However, she has a chance at coming back. It gave her just a little bit more exposure, but she did the worst out of the four evictees. But at least she got a fiiine body shoot to remember her by in "Inked & Evicted".

pervs lol

     Fourth boot

  • Against My Religion: Dominique has said that she hates lying, backstabbing and manipulating other people in order to get further in the game mostly because her faith and God wouldn't approve of such behavior. Does she forget that she's playing a game that requires lying, backstabbing, and manipulating in order to get to the end and win? Plus, it makes Dominique a bit of a hypocrite because she has had to lie (maybe not as much as the other houseguests) in order to further herself in the game at some point.

All but first line removed for obvious obvious reasons.

  • Arch-Enemy:
    • Paul. Understandably so considering that it was Paul who orchestrated Dominique's demise after exposing her reckless and careless behavior. Ironically, Dominique used to work with Paul and they used to be trusted allies and friends from the very beginning. However, Paul grew to distrust Dominique due to he sketchy and strange behavior during her talk show interviews. He realized that she was using her talk show interviews to gain information about the other houseguests so that she could eventually use it against them in the future to benefit her game. Dominique eventually discovered that it was Paul that was the one who was throwing her under the bus to everyone and making her public enemy #1 in the house. Once she found out that Paul betrayed her trust, she confronted Paul in front of many other houseguests and tried to humiliate him in front of everyone by referring him to a backstabber, a liar and a snake. By Dominique going off on Paul, who is so well received and liked in the house, she only managed to make her target even bigger and bigger than before. Although Dominique was originally friends and allies with Paul, she realized that Paul backstabbed her and therefore, she knew that he couldn't be trusted. She also made it her mission to try to get everyone to realize that Paul was not to be trusted and that he was a snake who would betray anyone if he wanted. But nobody believed her or bought her argument about Paul because they felt that she was completely unhinged and was just trying to find a way to stay in the game by throwing Paul under the bus.
    • Elena. It's not completely understood why Dominique really disliked Elena but it could either be chalked up to Irrational Hatred towards her, a lack of trust, or because she was in a relationship or showmance with Mark, who was her closets ally and her best friend in the house. Dominique has said that Elena is manipulative and untrustworthy. She's said that doesn't like her that much because she feels that she is using Mark for strategy or game related reasons. Dominique has mentioned that she feels like Elena is phony and that she's not being genuine with Mark. It could be chalked up to petty reasons and jealousy as to why Dominique doesn't like Elena. Her rivalry with Elena is pretty personal in nature as it centres around their relationship with Mark.

WHY IS THERE SO MUCH TEXT

  • Belief Makes You Stupid: Dominique had a habit of making her use of her faith and her religion way too far in the game to the point where she came off as delusional and crazy. Many of the other houseguests were questioning Dominique's sanity because her obsession with using her faith and God in the game made it seem like she was out of touch with reality. Dominique would make strange sweeping proclamations (normally to her herself) about how God will help to salvage her game and that He would be there to get her to the end because He wants her to win.
  • Berserk Button: Betraying her or backstabbing her is a HUGE no-no. She doesn't take it lightly when she's stabbed in the back or thrown under the bus by people that she believes are her friends or allies. When she discovered that Paul as well as the rest of the house had thrown her to the wolves, Dominique didn't handle it well at all and became completely unhinged.
  • Beta Bitch: In the first week, Dominique was this to Jessica's Alpha Bitch despite being a Nice Girl for the most part. She would constantly gossip about the other houseguests with Jessica and she would sometimes partake in the trash talking of other houseguests, normally about the outsiders. She was nowhere near as mean or catty as Raven and Elena, each also a Beta Bitch to Jessica, when it came to the trash talk about others in the house. If anything, Dominique was more of a Lovable Beta Bitch.
  • Beware the Nice Ones: Dominique is generally a Nice Girl but if she's pushed too far, she has quite a tough side that's very surprising. She's logical most of the time, but when she gets upset, she can become quite irrational and out of control.
  • Be Yourself: Subverted. Being herself in real life in the BB house was what screwed up her game because she wore her heart on her sleeve.

Trashing Dominique for the most part

  • Big Good: How Dominique saw herself. She felt that she was the ultimately good houseguest in the house and the one that was meant to defeat all the evil forces in the game. She had a mentality that God put her in the house to get rid of the bad players so that she can make sure that good prevails and gets to the end to win the game. Yes, Dominique is a good person, but she clearly had a bit of God complex and her beliefs about morality and goodness were quite skewed.

Snipped

  • Big Sister Instinct: Played Straight towards Mark, Jessica, Raven, Josh and the rest of her alliance members. Even though Cody and Jessica were the ones running things in the first week because they were the ones in power, Dominique was the one that was really protective of her alliance, especially the ones that were younger such as Jessica and Raven, who had a tendency to get too emotional and impulsive at times. For example, when Jessica was getting too overly emotional about Cody and his game plans of wanting to include Alex into the alliance, Dominique was there to calm Jessica down and give her advice on how to approach Cody about the subject. Outside of her alliance, she also had a strong big sister instinct towards Josh. Dominique was one of the few people who actually cared for Josh on a personal level whenever everyone was ostracizing him because of his immature behavior. Dominique would give Josh advice on how to act and try to calm him down if he became too emotional. Dominique was basically his emotional support system before Christmas took over the role for Josh.

Wall of text, trimmed down

  • Black and Nerdy: Lampshaded by Jeff Schroeder in pre-season interviews when he made fun of her extensive vocabulary.

Preseason, cut!

  • Black Dude Dies First: Dominique is Black and is the first POC who ends up being evicted this season. To add salt to the wound, she doesn't even end up making it to jury.

She wasn't even first! WTF

Snipped the last part

  • Cassandra Truth: Dominique had Elena pegged from the start. She said that Elena was a fake person who wasn't as nice as she tried to come off. Turns out that Dominique was right about Elena's character. Post-season, Elena's true colors have come out to shine in the form of tweets that she wrote on her Twitter. Elena revealed herself to be ignorant, racist, sexist, and an abuse apologist. The fans are now finally seeing what Dominique saw about Elena all this time and they now say that Dominique was justified and vindicated in her grudge against Elena.

postseason stuff, cut!

  • The Chessmaster: Dominique was one of the most smart and strategic players in the game. She was good at planting seeds of doubt amongst the other houseguests. She was also strategic in trying to gather intel from other houseguests by using a social game and creating a talk show which involves interviewing he other houseguests about their personal lives and their games. Unfortunately, her scheming ways managed to catch up to her and was exposed for her sketchy gameplay.

0 examples

  • Clingy Jealous Girl: Towards Mark. Dominique clearly hated Elena and didn't trust her because she was jealous that Mark was interested romantically in Elena and only saw Dominique as a friend. Even after she was evicted and three months later when the season is finally over, Dominique is still holding a jealous grudge against Elena. She even stated in her Backyard Interview that she sees all of the showmances having a shot at longevity outside of the house with the exception of Marlena. She gave them 27 days of lasting outside of the game. Ouch. Jealous much, Dominique?

Postseason stuff. Also speculation

  • Combat Clairvoyance: Zig-zagged. Dominique has a spiritual gift where she's capable of hearing the Holy Spirit talk to her, and she attempts to make it give her advice on what to do as she plays the game, but it doesn't seem to be willing to help her compete in a game that doesn't seem like it would please God at all. It helps her through the first stages of the game, but then it seems to help get her kicked out of the game because the house environment is very irreverent. When it came down to it, it was trying to show her that the material world of the house was no place for a believer.

WTF am I reading?

  • Despair Event Horizon: Once she realizes that everyone has turned on her and nobody trusts her due to her poor gameplay, Dominique loses all hope and becomes extremely cynical about her life span in the game. During the week that she's on the block, Dominique loses it so much that she ends up isolating herself away from the houseguests and spends all day in solitary confinement reading her bible and preaching about the Lord. Even when other houseguests try to comfort Dominique, all she manages to do is shun them or push them away. The fact that Dominique went from being one of the best social players in the early start of the game to someone who became anti-social, constantly isolated herself and shunned the comfort from other houseguests, only emphasized how hopeless and over the game Dominique really was. In truth, Dominique blew up her own game by making stupid mistakes and exposing her own strategy by conducting talk shows in order to gather information from other houseguests in order to use it against the other sin the future to her benefit.

This is like, lies from what I can tell, the house systematically isolated her (they suck).

  • Dogged Nice Girl: Showed shades of this in her relationship with Mark. Mark clearly had a romantic attraction towards Elena, but Dominique in turn clearly was attracted to Mark. However, Mark obviously didn't share the same romantic attraction to Dominique and didn't reciprocate Dominique's more than friendly feelings towards him. She did consistently stick by him though and constantly tried to warn Mark that Elena wasn't always to be trusted even though Mark may have liked her on a romantic level. Plus, she tried to get into Mark's good graces and appeal to him by showing him as much Undying Loyalty as possible. Turns out it didn't really work in Dom's favor since not only did Mark end up choosing Elena over her but he was okay with Dominique going home.

Wall (claps) of (claps) text

  • The Dragon: For Cody and then for Paul. Dominique had originally been working for Cody in the very first week but she ended up pledging her allegiance and her Undying Loyalty to Paul once Cody decided to turn on the entire alliance by throwing all of his allies under the bus. Once Dominique discovered that Cody was unpredictable and untrustworthy ally, she decided that staying loyal to Paul is in her best interests.
    • Co-Dragons: She was this with Mark for Paul, along with the majority of the other houseguests. But since Mark was her ride or die in the game other than Paul, she's a Co-Dragon with Mark for Paul. Dominique was one of Paul's strongest allies in the game and she was of great value and importance to Paul's game in the first couple of weeks. Dominique had such a strong social game and strategic game which was considered to be useful for Paul's benefit in the game. Dominique would often be the one to gather information and spill to Paul in order to make game moves.
    • Devour the Dragon: Once Paul discovered that Dominique was extremely sketchy and untrustworthy due to her constantly using her talk shows in order to gain intel and eventually use that intel that she gathered against other houseguests in the future in order to benefit her game if she ever were to find herself in trouble, Paul decides to it's time to cut Dominique out of the alliance due to going off as shady and untrustworthy. Paul had always thought of Dominique as one of the strongest assets to his game, but once he realized how unpredictable she was, he realized that she posed a serious threat to his game as well as the games of his allies. Paul orchestrated Dominique's demise but Dominique wasn't aware of who exactly wanted her out of the house at first. She eventually came to realize that Paul turned on her and was plotting to get her out of the house. Once Dominique tried to blow up Paul's game once she found out that Paul was trying to get her evicted, Paul made it his mission in Week 3 to get Dominique out and not only that, but for her other allies (especially Mark) to completely turn on her and make her look untrustworthy to the entire house. If Dominique didn't make so many crucial mistakes, Paul possibly would have kept her longer, even though he had realized that she was one of the strongest players in the game.
    • Dragon-in-Chief: Downplayed. Dominique was one of the strongest social and strategic game players from the very beginning of the game. Despite this, she was nowhere near the same level of social and strategic mastery that Paul was. Many other people also thought that Dominique was a huge threat in the game and that if she continued to stay in the house, she would run the house, steamroll and make it all the way to the end. So while Dominique was a huge threat in terms of strategy and social game, Paul was still a way more dangerous threat especially since Paul outplayed her and outsmarted her by orchestrating her eviction much to her oblivion.
    • Dragon Their Feet: Inverted. Once Dominique found out that Paul was targeting her and had backstabbed her, she had went on a mission to sabotage Big Bad Paul's game by trying to humiliate him and expose him to the entire house. Unfortunately for her, nobody took Dominique's side and they all sided with Paul. So even if Dominque wanted to or even attempted to try to take out Paul and have him evicted, she would end up dramatically failing because everyone had taken Paul's side over hers.
    • Noble Top Enforcer: She's MUCH nicer than Paul in that although she's a strong strategic player who doesn't play games and she can be pretty tough in the game, she's nowhere near as manipulative, cutthroat and ruthless as Paul is. In fact, part of the reason why Dominique ended up turning on Paul as because she discovered that Paul was a schemer, a liar and a backstabber that couldn't be trusted. Other than gameplay, Dominique was also deeply moral and religious and she depended on her faith and her belief in God to get her far in the game. However, Paul was the opposite. Even though he's religious in the real world, he chose to forsake most of his morals and using his faith while playing the game making him come off as way more immoral in comparison to Dominique.
    • The Starscream: Played Straight and Justified. Considering that Paul had backstabbed and betrayed Dominique, it's completely understandable why she wanted Paul out of the house. She felt like she had been betrayed by Paul when she discovered that he had been plotting to get her out much to her oblivion. Once she discovered this, her respect and loyalty for Paul turned into downright disdain and distrust. Not only did she no longer trust Paul but she went out of her way to warn everyone else and let them know that they also shouldn't trust Paul or have any loyalty to him because of the fact that he's such a schemer and a backstabber. Dominique's belief regarding Paul was that if he was willing to backstab her without a second though, what makes anyone think that he wouldn't backstab anyone else in the same fashion?

WHY?

  • Drunk with Power: Seriously believed that she was such a special person that God was solely trying to assist her in the game and help her to get to the end so that she could win. At the same time, she ended up turning against all of her allies and believed that she was superior to them once her game was officially blown up.

What power was she drunk on lmao

  • Egocentrically Religious: Dominique took her use of her faith and religion in the game way too far to the point where she built up a God complex. She constantly brought up God while playing the game much to the annoyance of some of the other houseguests. Her obsession with her faith ended up causing her to lose her sense of logic and game sense. Dominique believed that the Lord and her faith were going to help her in the game and get to the end to win. She would also tout that God wanted her to win the game above everyone else and that as long as God was on her side, she would be just fine. One of the houseguests that was completely annoyed with Dominique constantly using her religion as a tool in the game was Paul. He had stated that he doesn't believe religion or faith have any place in this game and that religion should be off limits when it comes to playing Big Brother.
  • Et Tu, Brute?: Dominique didn't take it well when she discovered that Paul, someone whom she had a lot of trust in and respect for, was the one who was plotting her demise. She was so angry about his betrayal that she ended up going after his character personally by suggesting that Paul was nothing more than a liar, a schemer, a manipulator and a snake.

Paul fans clearly wrote this. Walls of text and some serious biases.

  • Fatal Flaw: Dominique had a few that led to her ultimate demise in the game:
    • Her Anger. Dominique's biggest weakness sin the game was most definitely her inability to control her anger. She has let her emotions dictate her judgement and cloud her logic. One of the reasons why she became a fast target was because of her blowing up in anger at the other houseguests instead of calming trying to defuse the target that was placed on her back. Once she found out that the other houseguests had turned on her, she decided to play into the unfortunate stereotype of black women. She lashed out in anger at all of the other houseguests instead of using her power of communication or persuasion to convince the others to not target her and to get them to trust her once again. The unfortunate thing is that even though Dominque appears to be rational, calm, cool, and collected, she is very much a Hot-Blooded person with a Hair-Trigger Temper and she becomes easily provoked into anger and irritation. Once she gets angry, it's hard for her to calm down and use her sense of logic. The week that she was nominated showcased just how much of a temper she really has. She would angrily lash out at houseguests were simply trying to talk to her or communicate with her. She also went on endless angry, bitter tirades by herself and made no effort to try to fix her situation. Dominique had a few flaws while playing the game, but it can be argued that her anger and her inability to control her temper was most definitely biggest weakness.
    • Her Blind Faith. Dear GOD (no pun intended), if anything brought Dominique down in the game, it was her excessive need to constantly use her faith and religion in the game. There was never a time or instance in the house when Dominique wasn't bringing up God or her faith. She insisted on using her faith to determine her success in the game or her chances of getting to the end. She was also delusional enough to believe that God had an influence on who would win the game and that if she were to find herself in peril game wise, God would be there to save her or help her along the way and make sure that she wins. Because of Dominique's fanatical need to use her religion and her faith in the game, many of the other houseguests, such as Christmas, Elena, and especially Paul, have commented that her bringing up religion in the game is harmful and unnecessary and makes them uncomfortable. Paul has last out stated that he believes that God and religion have absolutely no place in a game for entertainment like Big Brother. He has bashed Dominique for constantly using her faith to get by in the game. Dominique's constant obsession with her faith managed to blind her to what was really important, which was playing the game without being clouded by personal matters such as religion. Dominique let her faith and her religion control her thoughts too much to the extent that she came across as delusional. It was almost as if Dominique was choosing to leave her fate in the game in the hands of the Lord instead of trying to actively determine her own path or destiny in the game herself. Although she could be a very strong, strategic player, her addiction to using God and religion and the delusions that came along with using her religion in the game managed to ruin any chances she had of making it far. Her blind faith also destroyed her social game as her constant fanatical preaching about God rubbed many of the houseguests the wrong way and turned them away from her.
    • Her Egotism and Narcissism: Dominique was incredibly narcissistic in her attitude. She had a superiority complex in the game and felt that she was more deserving to be there because of her belief in God. With time, she grew more and more arrogant to the extent that she believed that God wanted her to be in the house so that he could get her to the end and make sure that she wins. Her constant preaching about how she's a woman of God and that it makes her a better person because of it reeked of serious narcissism and self idolization. Dominique developed a bit of an A God Am I mentality. She believed that she was The Chosen One of the house and that she was the only one that God was rooting for to win because of her belief in the Lord. Other houseguests were turned off by her egotistical behavior and frequently bashed Dominique for acting arrogant and self involved. Dominique also had a sense of superiority regarding her intelligence. She came off as arrogant regarding the fact that she was one of the smartest people in the house and she shows a sense of superiority by the way that she would talk down to some of the other houseguests. There's no doubt that while Dominique may be a generally nice person, she does have a seriously huge ego and she is incredibly self absorbed to the point of coming off as narcissistic. Her narcissistic and superior attitude managed to turn many of the houseguests off and it caused the target on her back to become exponentially larger.
    • Her Extreme Views on Morality: Dominique has a very black and white view of morality. She has the belief that everyone is either all good or all bad and she doesn't seem to see things in the grey areas. Her black and white views are very apparent in how she perceives the other houseguests such as Paul. To her, Paul is an evil person that needs to be taken down no matter what. She fails to see or understand that Paul's actions in the game leaned more towards a grey area during that time. She failed to comprehend that Paul turning on Dominique had more to do with her own actions and that he was simply removing someone from the game that he perceived as a threat. Dominique took Paul's betrayal as a personal attack against her when it wasn't. She made a big deal about Paul playing the game and instead chose to personally attack him by calling him evil and a snake instead of trying to understand why Paul may have wanted to target her. Dominique also seems to place herself on a high pedestal of ultimate goodness. She held the firm belief that she was the ultimate Big Good of the house and that Paul was the ultimate Big Bad of the house and all she wanted to do was bring down the evil force. Everything that Dominique perceived in the game was from a black and white perspective, but it could be thanks to her extreme religious views why she may hold such a strong black and white mentality or view of things.

How the hells is someone writing this much about DOMINIQUE?

  • A God Am I: Dominique seemed to have a serious Messiah or God complex and had consistently made an effort to enforce her faith and her religion in the game. Her extremism regarding her religion ended up clouding her logic in the game to the point where she believed that God Himself was influencing the game somehow and that He was helping her try to win. The other houseguests found her beliefs about God helping her in the game completely out there, bizarre, abnormal and strange. Paul had commented that Dominique was so delusional and crazy to believe that she was so special that God would be trying to help her in a game of Big Brother. By the week that she was on the block facing eviction because her game had royally blown up in her face, she was so delusional about her belief that God was sending her guidance during the game and was answering her prayers that it was evident that she had gone through some sort of Sanity Slippage.

Not what the trope means.

  • Green-Eyed Monster: Dominique was clearly jealous of Elena because she had Mark's undivided romantic attention. It's apparent that Dominique may have had more than friendly feelings for Mark but Mark clearly wasn't interested romantically in her and saw her as just his friend. Jealousy is the only reason why Dominique would be holding some type of petty grudge against Elena three months later and after the game is over.

Jeesh they're more obsessed with this jealousy than Dom is.

  • Hot-Blooded: Normally the Only Sane Woman, but when she gets fired up or angry, better watch out because Dominique erupts into a volcano of fire, fury and passion. Also, once Dominique gets going and she's really fired up, she doesn't stop. It's safe to say that Dominique is a rather feisty, passionate and hot headed person if she's pushed too far.

No examples on a Black Woman being called Hot-Blooded kinda sus? Cutting to be safe.

  • Hysterical Woman: Many of the other houseguests had felt that Dominique was crazy or wasn't alright upstairs because she was extremely engulfed in her religion and the Lord while playing the game. She would constantly be preaching about how the Lord would help her in the game or save her whenever she found herself in trouble. Paul thought that Dominique was unhinged because she managed to bring up her faith almost every second of every day. Her mental state was in even bigger question during the week that she was put on the block and was the intended target to go home. She clearly went through a Sanity Slippage after she was exposed for her sketchy behavior and gameplay. Once she was the target for the house, Dominique conducted very crazy and strange behavior. She ended up throwing everyone under the bus even those that she was close with, isolating herself from everyone, and constantly talking to herself about God and preaching about her faith.

Not what the trope means.

  • Magical Negro: She would often appear as the Only Sane Woman to her alliance and would provide her other alliance members, which mostly consisted of White people, with advice and logic about the game. It seemed as though Dominique's purpose in her alliance was to help her non-POC allies to advance their game further.

I...

  • Villainous Breakdown: Inverted, it's more of a martyr's breakdown. Dominique wasn't a villain or a bad guy at all, but she did suffer a major Sanity Slippage and Heroic BSoD once she realized that she was the target to go home instead of Jessica. She realized that her entire alliance had turned on her because she had been acting very strangely in the game and they felt that they could no longer trust her. After she was nominated, Dominique had a mental and emotional breakdown and exhibited strange and crazy behavior such as isolating herself from everyone, throwing everyone (including her friends and allies) under the bus, and preaching constantly to herself about her faith and the Lord.

Not what the trope MEANS

Sent them a message. To be honest, I've never watched an episode in my life. I came across this behemoth when I was Wick Cleaning, but now I understand why Earnest Hemmingway hated adverbs.

Ok so I'm not touching Jessica yet because it's just calling her a b***h over and over and I don't think that's super accurate from what I've heard, so not ready.

Now we come to the true hellhole of the bb19 pages, the jurors...

    Juror # 1

  • 13 Is Unlucky: Cody's date of birth is April 13th and he became a Butt-Monkey who faced many struggles, adversities and extreme amounts of bad luck (or bad karma) in the game. Cody managed to have some luck when he won the Safety Competition that would prevent him from being nominated and evicted on Day 1. He also won the first HOH of the summer, but everything went wrong for him from that point on. Under his HOH, he had to nominate FIVE DIFFERENT PEOPLE within the span of one week. First, Megan quit the game after she had fights with Cody, Josh, Alex and Jessica, because her PTSD was triggered from a real life experience that happened (sexual harassment in the military). Thus Cody was forced as HOH to nominate a third person — Alex. But going by his emotional response during the nomination ceremony, he really didn't want to do it because he had formed a strong bond and emotional connection with Alex. After nominating Alex, Cody felt guilty and remorseful for doing it because he wanted to keep Alex in the game and find a way to save her. He went against his entire alliance and threw the POV competition to Alex to ensure that she would get off the block. That turned his entire alliance against him. After Alex won the POV and took herself off the block, Cody was forced to nominate a fourth person and he chose Paul as the replacement with the intention of backdooring him and getting him out the house. Unfortunately for him, this backfired dramatically as Paul secretly received the Pendant of Protection which gave Paul three weeks of immunity from being nominated or being evicted. Angered by this blindside and after failing to backdoor Paul, he was then forced to nominate his fifth houseguest in a single week and he chose Christmas to put on the block because of her friendship and close association with Paul. After turning against his alliance by trying to protect Alex and trying to backdoor Paul (which wasn't in the plans for the rest of his alliance), the entire house turned against him, wanting to get him out of the house. On top of it, Cody failed to get his intended target Christmas out of the house, instead Jillian was blindsided and went home instead. It didn't get much better when Paul, his Arch-Enemy, won HOH next and backdoored him. Cody was evicted in Week 2, but his game was revived during the Battle Back competition when he won three rounds of it and beat Paul to return to the house. His luck ran out in Week 5. The house led by Paul made it their mission to bully Cody and Jessica. Cody received some minor luck when Jessica won the Halting hex Temptation which gave her the ability to halt or stop any eviction of her choice. In Week 5, she stopped either Cody and herself from being evicted. Things got worse for Cody after that. Josh, another Arch-Enemy to Cody and Jessica, won HOH. Jessica also threw the Temptation Safety Competition, in which she unleashed as a punishment on the entire house as a consequence for exorcizing the Halting Hex temptation. She became the third nominee alongside Elena and Mark and later Raven. She also lost the POV which would have saved her and given her a chance to take herself off the block. She was evicted under Josh's HOH and didn't even make it to jury. Bummer for Cody. It gets worse for him the following week. Alex won HOH and Cody knows that he's in trouble. Cody isolates himself and refuses to even think of having some semblance of a social game. He loses the Safety Competition to Mark which would have given him immunity from being nominated or backdoored. And to give him extra bad luck on top of it, his chip doesn't get pulled to play the POV competition, so Cody can't save himself from going up and going home. Even though he does make some effort in trying to get Alex to not nominate him by coming up with a plan, it falls on deaf ears due to the house's Undying Loyalty to Paul. He gets backdoored and sent home on Double Eviction of all evictions. It's a wonder why Cody didn't snap after having everything in the game go against him.

JEEZ

  • Abhorrent Admirer: For Alex in the earlier weeks. Cody isn't physically unattractive by any means but his personality is unpleasant. Cody has a strong admiration, affection, and respect for Alex and he wanted her to be in an alliance with him. However, Alex didn't reciprocate his offer. Despite Cody going out of his way to help Alex and to protect her (including going against his entire alliance, throwing the POV competition to her, risking Jessica getting mad at him, etc), Alex has still stated (both behind his back and to his face) that she plans on nominating him. Alex has admitted that she doesn't personally care for Cody, instead, she has a love-hate relationship with him. That didn't stop Cody from still trying to pursue her and get her to align with him. Alex has complained on the live feeds to others about how she feels uncomfortable with Cody constantly obsessing over her and trying to convince her to be in an alliance with him.

Trimmed down

  • Affably Evil: While Cody is more Faux Affably Evil in most situations, there are times when he does show some genuine kindness, compassion and sympathy to others but it's a very select and small group of people. He's shown compassion towards Jessica and Alex. Jessica is his romantic partner so Cody showing affability towards her is not a surprise. And Cody had a very strong admiration, infatuation and respect for Alex which caused him to let out some warmth and emotion around her. Cody made a genuine attempt at trying to befriend Alex and align with her in the game out of sheer admiration and respect fo her as a person and competitor. When Cody was forced to name a replacement nominee after Megan quit and he had to put up Alex, Cody was near tears during the nomination ceremony. Jessica even called out Cody for almost crying and choking up after he nominated Alex, showing that he did have strong compassion for her. Most of the time, Cody is The Stoic and isn't the most friendly person around the block, but when he develops an emotional attachment to someone, he lets it show.

Trimmed down.

  • A God Am I: In the first week of the game when he was in power, Cody suffered from a serious case of HOH-itis. He had quite a strong hero, martyr, or God complex, believing that he was going to be the savior of his entire alliance. On the side, Cody also tried to proclaim that he'd do anything and everything to protect Alex and keep her safe — much to Alex's disconcertion. As a result of his hero and superiority complex, Cody made many stupid decisions which resulted in his entire alliance turning against him and no longer finding him trustworthy. Cody's huge ego and superiority complex is his biggest Fatal Flaw and will be his downfall.

I fail to see how this represents the trope and lmao at the "this will be his downfall"

  • Alpha Bastard: Try finding anybody from even the earlier seasons of this show and compare them to Cody's obsession with being number one. He wants to be the biggest man of the house, is a whole snake pit of smug, and crushes anything that so much as looks at him wrong.

"The second boot that got none of his targets evicted CRUSHES anything that so much as looks at him wrong"... I don't think this is accurate, tho the trope is probably applicable.

  • All Take and No Give: How Cody saw his relationship with Alex (and to a lesser extent, Jason). Cody has stated in his Exit Interview after he was evicted on Double Eviction that he tried to protect Alex and save Jason in the game. He even stated to Alex's face that because he threw his game away for her, she should consider trusting him and having some loyalty to him. However, Cody felt that Alex was completely ungrateful for what he tried to do for her. Cody stated in his interview that Alex (and Jason) never gave anything in return to Cody despite constantly sticking up for her, especially to Jessica when she wanted to get rid of her. Cody felt the need to call out Alex (and Jason) by saying that she played a dirty game and attempted to make her come across as disloyal and untrustworthy to the rest of the house.

Trimmed

  • The Aloner: Cody is a loner and he has one of the worst social games in the house. All he did while he was in the house was lay in bed with Jessica all day. After Jessica was evicted, he becomes an even bigger loner. He spends all his time alone in the Have Not room just waiting for his eviction to come because he doesn't want to put in any effort in socializing with the other houseguests or campaigning to try to stay in the house. Cody's poor social game and his loner status is self inflicted and completely his choice. Amazingly, he sulks in the Have-Not room by choice; it was noted to be the most painful one ever (as of this season), with blunted spikes attached the mattress rests so that anybody who rests/sleeps in there will feel them jabbing at them through the cushions.

Trimmed

  • Arch-Enemy: He and Paul never got along from Day 1. It got to the point where both men want each other out. While Cody might not like Paul, he at least seems to have some respect for him as a competitor, even going so far as to call him a fellow "alpha." Josh, however, he flat out loathes.
    • Josh also seems to be an arch enemy of his considering Josh voted to evict Jillian instead of Christmas. This further plays when Josh tries to make peace with Cody, and Cody simply pushes him away. Josh's childish tantrums don't seem to please Cody either.

This is really really funny if you know how the season ends. Leaving it anyway

  • Arrogant Kung-Fu Guy: Arrogance seems to be one of Cody's defining personality traits. He seems to have a strong sense of superiority and believes that he's better than the other houseguests because he doesn't fit in with the rest of the others whom he feels are losers. Cody's arrogance is the biggest reason why he has a poor social game and can't socialize with the other houseguests effectively.
  • Asshole Victim: While Paul and his supporters crossed a line by tormenting him and Jessica, it was after five weeks of these two tormenting them first. Doesn't make it okay, but the treatment they faced is no different than what how they treated others.

YMMV tropes

  • Ax-Crazy: On the live feeds when he discussed his past in the military, he smiled creepily while bragging about how many people he has killed in combat. Cody is also prone to threats, violence and aggressive behaviour. Despite being The Stoic most of the time, he does have a Hair-Trigger Temper when he's provoked into anger and he can become quite scary and intimidating when he lashes out. He's threatened Paul and Josh, among others. When Cody was nominated in Week 5, Cody became irrationally aggressive and got into Paul's face threatening him and yelling at him. Paul questioned Cody's mental state inciting that Cody was a violent, aggressive person that was unstable and dangerous when he's provoked into anger. Also, in Week 6 during a fight with Josh, Cody threatened to physically beat up Josh outside of the house. Cody's facial expressions also don't help when it comes to questioning his sanity and psychological or mental stability.

Trimmed

  • Badass Boast: Cody is never afraid to call people out on their BS, even at the risk of making him seem like a huge jerk or making himself a target. He's called out Paul and Josh of all people numerous times. Cody got into Paul's face during Week 6 when he nominated Cody and Jessica. He told Paul that he treats the other houseguests like dogs and that he refuses Paul to treat Jessica in such a manner by telling her to lower her voice. And he yelled at Josh in Week 2 when Josh didn't vote to keep Jillian. Cody has zero problem with calling out other people and making himself a target because as he says, he's not a giant pussy

That's not boasting

  • Big Bad: Cody is portrayed as the villain of the season to the audience. He's also antagonistic towards the other houseguests which solidifies his status as a villain. Inside of the house however, Cody is more of a Big Bad Wannabe. Cody wants to be in control of everything in the house yet doesn't have the skills (good social game, strong strategy) to do it. Considering that way he's acted and treated other people, his status as a villain is completely understandable and justified. In addition, Jessica is The Dragon to him and Cody and Jessica are a Big Bad Duumvirate.
  • Big Bad Duumvirate: With Jessica. Cody and Jessica were the original main villains of the season. However, in the bigger scheme of things, Cody is the Big Bad and Jessica is The Dragon to Cody who is working for him to push his goals and agenda.
  • Big Bad Wannabe: Tries to pretend that he's the strongest player and tough competitor, but he little to no control over anyone in the house because he has a horrible social game, has no allies in the game (except Jessica), and makes constant terrible strategic moves that often result in blowing up in his face. Cody probably hates Paul so much because he knows that he doesn't have a chance in beating him.

Does not seem to be the case.

  • Big Eater: Cody noticeably eats a lot, he's gained weight since the start of the game to when he left. The other houseguests have also commented how much weight Cody has gained saying that they believe that he's gained 10 to 15 pounds because he eats so much. Although part of that may be stress eating (and the final three told Pop TV it's easier to gain weight in the house as opposed to lose it or stay the same weight do to having free access to tons of junk food and nothing but junk food, less incentive to exercise, and stress making them eat more), considering what he has to put up with on a regular basis...

text wall

  • Blatant Lies: When he ran out of time to enact any other strategies before his impending eviction, claimed that Alex and Jason set a secret plan in motion to take over the whole house together. Jason and Alex gave him a thumbs down and blew a raspberry at him. Then Josh falls for the lie after witnessing Alex and Jason arguing in the storage room.

I fail to see how this is blatant lying since Josh fell for it.

uh huh

  • Bullying a Dragon: Cody thought he could bully people like Paul and Josh, two people who could easily destroy Cody on a game level and a personal level.

No bias here lol. Also I do love how Josh is someone who could easily destroy Cody on a game and personal level, it amuses me knowing what I know about Josh.

  • The Caligula: During the time that Cody has been in power as the HOH, he managed to treat his other alliance members terribly, which caused a lot of unnecessary mistrust. He also showed little to no remorse for bullying Megan to the point where she had an immense breakdown and quit the game. He's personally attacked other houseguests, specifically Josh, in order to make them feel small. Cody didn't seem to care that he was backstabbing his alliance by not telling them his plan that he was going to backdoor Paul. He also showed little concern for Christmas when she broke her foot. Overall, whenever Cody is in some sort of power, he mistreats other people without any remorse and abuses his power. He also shows that he's mentally and emotionally unstable by showcasing an unnecessary aggressive, intimidating attitude towards other houseguests.

Shortened, a lot of this isn't applicable to the trope.

  • Cute and Psycho: On the surface, he looks completely normal. However, it's obvious by his behavior in the house that he's mentally and emotionally unstable and is battling serious emotional issues. What makes him scarier is the fact that he always comes off as The Stoic yet he's an emotionally repressed individual that could easily snap if he's provoked. There have been times when he's come off as very unstable such as when he's acted intimidating and threatening towards his fellow houseguests such as making physical violence threats towards Josh that he would beat him up outside of the house and make his life miserable.

Wall of text + Speculation

  • Dark and Troubled Past: He's a single unwed father to a five year old daughter. That means Jessica is taking the place of an ex. His ex-girlfriend has majority joint custody of their daughter, with implications that the love child is the main reason they broke up because she has not planned to become an unwed mother. In addition, his older brother tragically died in a motorcycle accident six years ago and Cody was supposedly very close to him before his death. Finally, Cody has serious emotional problems due to being a veteran and engaging in combat who has done a few tours of duty in the Middle East. Cody is possibly suffering from various mental illnesses, most likely PTSD, General Anxiety Disorder or Major Depression.

Cut all but the Veteran part since I'm reasonably sure they didn't say all this on the show.

  • The Determinator: Cody is extremely persistent when he has a goal or an agenda. He was so determined to align with Alex early in the game out of interest and respect for her but Alex had declined his offer. That still didn't stop Cody from trying to find a way to get Alex to align with him. He also made it his number one goal in trying to get Paul out of the house. However, despite his determination, he hasn't had any luck at all and due to his persistence in trying to get rid of Paul, he managed to turn the entire house, including those who were in his own alliance, against him.

Slightly trimmed, wall of text

  • Dirty Coward: Has no issue with putting other people down, intimidating others, and backstabbing people when it benefits him especially when he's in power, but as soon as the tables are turned and the rest of the house goes against him (and Jessica by extension), Cody makes himself look like a victim (something that he claims to hate) and cries about how everyone that he trusted has backstabbed him.

Tears do not equal coward

  • Do Not Taunt Cthulhu: Cody tried to backdoor Paul and get rid of him in the first week because he was the veteran of the house. Unfortunately for him, he dramatically failed and Paul targeted Cody for the rest of the game. It didn't help Cody's chances of staying in the game when he decided that it would be a grand idea to get up into Paul's face in Week 5 simply for nominating him and Jessica. By bullying, intimidating, taunting and mocking Paul on a personal leave, it only made Paul even more passionate in wanting Cody out of the house. Even Jessica has to call Cody out on his actions because even she didn't think that it was a good idea to piss off the HOH, especially when that HOH is Paul who wanted their heads on a silver platter to begin with.

Paul is not an eldritch abomination and nominating him is not even taunting him.

  • Entitled Bastard: Cody has an extremely entitled and It's All About Me attitude. He flat out refuses to let his alliance know about his game plan as HOH in Week 1. As a result, his entire alliance started to mistrust Cody and felt that he was acting shady because he refused to communicate his plans with anyone. The funny thing is that he expects complete loyalty and trust from everyone that he's aligned with but he refuses to really give any loyalty and trust back.
  • Entitled to Have You: Cody was arrogant enough to believe that Alex should have a degree of loyalty to him because he's stated that he wants to protect her or keep her safe in the game. He also had a sense of entitlement over Alex in the first week when he tried to make an alliance with her. Once he realized that her plans didn't coincide with his and that she wasn't sure on aligning with him, he put her on the block (understandably so). Cody has always had an entitled attitude when it comes to Alex but he hasn't really openly done anything to earn her trust or loyalty except declare that he wants to protect her or act nice towards her.

For some reason these have an extra sentence on the end each. Snipped those.

  • Fatal Flaw: Cody has so many that led to the downfall of his game.
    • Arrogance: Cody is a very arrogant person who has the mentality that he's better than everyone else. This is even lampshades in the first week when he states in his DR that he will only include people in his alliance that are physically appealing and won't give any time of day to the people who are referred to as outsiders. His arrogance also caused him to alienate his entire alliance due to not communicating with them and deciding to keep all of his plans to himself. By displaying arrogant behavior, he backstabbed not just one but two of his allies in the first week because he wanted to make a big move by getting the sole veteran (Paul) out of the house. His sense of pride has also managed to alienate many of the other houseguests. He believes he's superior to the rest of them and they aren't worthy of associating themselves with him. His pride has also led to the downfall of his game because he refuses to acknowledge the mistakes that he's made in the game and how he's treated the other houseguests.
    • Cruelty: Cody has been a very mean, aggressive and unfriendly person for the majority of the game. He's been rude to nearly every single houseguest at some point (including Jessica) and he doesn't seem to show any remorse for the way that he's treated people. He treated Megan and Josh terribly. He humiliated Megan in front of the entire house during his nomination speech by saying he put her on the block because he didn't like her and he has bullied and threatened Josh on numerous occasions. Cody is anti-social and doesn't know how to get along with people. His lack of kindness and his inability to socialize with the others have been a major downfall in this game for him.
    • Disloyalty: Cody doesn't know how to be loyal to anyone in the game with the exception of Jessica. Everyone else is expendable to him except himself, Jessica, and at the start of the game, Alex. In the first week alone, he went against his entire alliance in order to save Alex (someone that his entire alliance wanted out) and possibly align with her. He was willing to go against nine people all for one person (Alex). He also backstabbed and went against two of his allies (Paul and Christmas) by putting them on the block without even letting any of his other alliance members know about his plan to do so. After making such a move, he lost the trust of his entire alliance except Jessica and everyone realized that Cody was a completely disloyal person.
    • Consummate Liar: Cody never communicated to his alliance about his plans, so they felt he couldn't be trusted. If he were a little more open and honest and could communicate to his allies more effectively, Cody could have gotten farther in the game. His actions during his HOH reign had shown that he was capable of being dishonest if he felt that something wouldn't benefit him or Jessica. Because of Cody's dishonesty and lack of communication to his allies, they all turned against him believing that he was not capable of being honest.
    • Lack of Empathy: Cody was completely apathetic about the wellbeing of his allies with the exception of Jessica. He also showed little to no compassion for his fellow houseguests. He didn't care that he acted aggressively and treated them in a mean spirited fashion. He has repeatedly stated that he doesn't care what people think of him and that he doesn't care that people hate him. His generally apathetic and uncaring attitude was a major contributing factor of why his social game failed and why he was a big target.
    • Narcissism: Cody felt that he was the only one in the house who was actually playing the game. He also believed that he was the only one who could take out Paul because he believed himself to be the strongest and best player to do it. His ego also caused him to alienate the people that he was aligned with as well as people he wasn't aligned with. He also said in the first week that he only wanted to align with physically attractive people or people who had a personality. Cody also had a huge enough ego to believe that he could turn on his alliance in Week 1 by making a power move and taking out the sole veteran (Paul) without consulting his allies about it first. Cody also had a huge hero and saviour complex, believing that he could protect and save his entire alliance of nine people simply by making deals left and right. He had a serious A God Am I complex and his ego made him a huge target.
    • Obsessiveness: Cody was a very obsessive person and it led him to make some irrational decisions in the game. His obsession with getting Paul out since Week 1 caused his game to blow up in his face. After trying to get Paul out the first week, he didn't even try to fix what he messed up but instead continued to obsessively hate Paul and go out of his way to continue targeting him. In addition, Cody became obsessed with Alex to the point where his admiration and "respect" for her caused him to make irrational decisions that didn't benefit his or his allies' game.

This is basically just bashing Cody, so I feel fine removing all of it.

  • Hate Sink: Cody may very well be the coldest, angriest, and most vicious houseguest ever, because some of the rotten things he's said and done are in a league of their own. He's been one of the most hate-worthy players and has done almost nothing to warrant the kindness of others. But there's a certain novelty in watching him play the game with so much apathy and the catharsis of watching him lose in all he does.

YMMV trope. Normally this isn't a YMMV trope from what I can tell, but it's being used as one.

  • Hypocrite:
    • Started hating Josh for doing something cowardly in taking the Golden Apple and disliking it when people do things at the start of the game that are selfish. This was right before he revealed his true colors to the whole house.
    • Constantly claims that he hates people who act like victims or make constant victim noises. Yet when the tables were turned and the entire house went against them for their bad gameplay and their poor behaviour towards the other houseguests, Cody makes himself a victim or target of harassment and mistreatment by the other houseguests.
    • Cody has also complained how he and Jessica are constant targets and are constantly being bullied by the other houseguests. However, in the first few weeks, they had little to issue with using their power to bully, intimidate, and hurt other people, including people within their own alliance.

"Revealed his true colors" = was forced to nominate half the house by a twist, and he was literally bullied by the entire house, no duh he took issue with it

  • If I Can't Have You…: His obsession with Alex caused him to harbor some bitter emotions throughout the game.
    • Cody spent the first few weeks of the game trying to convince Alex to join him in an alliance. Unfortunately for Cody, Alex turned down his offer and even went as far as to boldly state to his face that she plans on going after all of the showmances in the game, including Cody and Jessica. As a result of Alex rejecting Cody, he put her up on the block as a replacement nominee after Megan quit the game. Even after Cody put Alex on the block, he was still persistent in trying to get Alex on his side.
    • In Week 7, Cody's obsession with Alex goes from extreme admiration and respect to serious hatred and vengefulness. Once Alex nominated Cody as a backdoor option, Cody became extremely spiteful towards Alex, even going as far as to say that he hates her and wants nothing to do with her inside or outside of the house. He even decides to personally attack Alex by eating her entire box of cereal by himself just to spite her for "betraying him". On Eviction Night, Cody twists the dagger more when he makes a nasty speech (that was filled with Blatant Lies) to Alex in front of the entire house by trying to paint her as a big backstabber and liar playing a dirty game. Cody knew he was going out the door. Because he was rejected multiple times by Alex in trying to get her in an alliance with him, he decided that the best way for him to leave is to leave with a bang by throwing Alex under the bus and blowing up her game.

I'm not clear on if targeting someone for targeting you is "If I cant have you...." lol

  • I Love You Because I Can't Control You: Cody, who is The Stoic and a major Jerkass, can't help but have high admiration and respect for Alex, an Asian and Nerdy Genki Girl, because she has no problem challenging him. He had so much respect and admiration for Alex because since the start, Alex was one of the few people who has always been a straight shooter and completely honest and upfront with him. In the very first week when Alex and Cody were the last two left competing in the Safety Competition, Cody tried to use manipulation and reverse psychology in order to get Alex to throw the competition to him. Alex didn't fall for it and instead told him "No offence, but I hope you eat shit." Cody found this humorous and he bared one of the few genuine smiles that was ever seen in the game. Ever since then, Cody has never been able to let go of his Alex admiration to the point where it affected his game.

Full o filler.

  • I Warned You: To everyone who ended up in the Jury House with him because they didn't heed his warnings that Paul was only using them to his own end and dumping them as soon as they became a liability to his game. Also, his response to the jurors who are now witnessing how stupid it was of them to leave Christmas in the house over Jillian after seeing her immense social and strategic game in action and vastly prolonging her longevity in the house and being behind several key evictions.

I watched the jury clips, Christmas was barely mentioned. Also lol at her immense social and strategic game, no bias here.

  • Jumped Off The Slippery Slope: Double subverted. He seemed like he was taking a stab at Raven's inability to conceive children. However, Raven made that up just to spite Cody and make Matt attack him. Then he levied an Implied Death Threat at Josh that he would destroy his fat ass outside of the house the week Josh was HOH and they argued, and a certain conversation came up that he and Jessica wanted to slander Josh as a sexual predator and ruin his life outside the house by exploiting a misunderstanding that he peeped at Raven in the shower (which Raven herself denies). When Josh's own mother wrote in the letter he got bundled with the HOH basket expressing fears over the threats made at him, Paul finally decided it was time to go after Cody and Jessica.

I don't even know where to start with this. Middle part is probably the fairest but it's out of game from what I can tell.

  • Kick the Morality Pet:
    • Nominated his Morality Pet Alex after she declined his offer for an alliance — her plans didn't align with his. On the other hand, Cody did feel bad about putting her on the block and got emotional over it.
    • In Week 7, Cody said that he "hated" Alex to her face. He ate Alex's entire box of cereal just to spite her. Cody randomly did so because he was angry, hurt and upset at Alex for nominating him and he wanted to make a statement.
    • In his Eviction Speech, he decided to throw Alex under the bus in front of everyone by saying that she played a dirty game and that she tried to flip the house on Matt, Raven and Paul along with Jason.

I fail to see how Alex of all people is his morality pet.

  • Laser-Guided Karma: Cody tried to tilt all the heat on Elena in the hope Alex would want to evict her over him. Unfortunately, he's too much of a target to ignore and it's Double Elimination Week, so Alex intends to use her sway as HOH to get the house to eliminate Elena next.

So the karma is that he and the person he was trying to get evicted over him were evicted. Whuh?

  • Love Hungry: Game wise, Cody was so desperate for Alex to like him and to be aligned with him. He went to extreme measures to get Alex to want to be on his side of the house. He was willing to throw his alliance under the bus and nominate two of his alliance members in Paul and Christmas in order to get in Alex's good graces. Cody was willing to throw a Veto competition to Alex so that he could keep her in the game. He was ever so persistent in his desire to have Alex on his side out of his strange obsessive adoration and respect for her. His own alliance members pointed this out to Cody and other people but that still didn't stop Cody's persistence and determination with Alex in the game.
  • Love Makes You Crazy: In the earlier weeks, Cody had a personal connection and bond with Alex that caused him to make irrational and crazy decisions that affected the games of himself and his allies. Due to his irrational behaviour over keeping Alex in the house (when his ENTIRE alliance wanted her out), Cody's obsession with Alex managed to ruin his alliance members perception of him. His own alliance members were very confused and shocked by his desire in wanting to protect Alex and prevent her from being evicted. In trying to protect Alex, Cody went against his entire alliance's wishes, refused to share any of his plans, backstabbed his own allies, and threw a POV competition (much to his alliance members' horror) to Alex in order to ensure her safety.
  • Love Makes You Evil: A variation. At the start, Cody made it obvious that he had a strong infatuation and respect for Alex (to obsessive levels). At first, Cody just seemed to really like Alex on a personal level and he enjoyed her presence and her company. However, when he was in power as HOH in Week 1, Cody's admiration and obsession for Alex turned him into The Caligula who became completely unhinged and unpredictable because of his desire to keep Alex in the game. Cody also suffered from a serious power trip and part of what made his HOH reign so chaotic was his extreme obsession with trying to recruit Alex to his side of the house. He also had a strong desire to protect Alex and keep her safe. In doing so, he managed to become completely unhinged and crazy in his game plans. In trying to save Alex and keep her in the game, he acted like a power hungry Jerkass towards other people, completely jeopardized his status in the game, made himself the number one target for wanting to align with Alex, caused complete distrust among all of his allies, threw a crucial POV competition to Alex against his alliance members wishes, blew up and destroyed his entire alliance over Alex, caused drama and chaos to ensue because of his crazy behavior, refused to tell any of his allies about his plans on what he was going to do, and backstabbed members of his own alliance by putting them on the block (Paul and Christmas). Cody may have been a jerk to start with, but his mission to save and protect Alex and his desperation to align with her and get her on his side pushed him into Big Bad, villain or full fledged antagonist territory.
  • Mad Love: Cody, in the early weeks of the game, was extremely persistent in his attempts at trying to get Alex to be in an alliance with him and join his side of the house simply because he had such a deep respect, admiration and infatuation for her. Yet, Alex had openly and boldly said to Cody that shall she get into power, she would have no problem in targeting him and nominating him (As well as the other couples). Unfortunately, this didn't seem to stop Cody as it seemed that Cody liked Alex constantly rejecting him and telling him that she didn't want to be associated with him. In fact, it only made Cody chase after her even more and made him want to align with her even harder. But he just didn't seem to understand Alex's intentions in regards to aligning with him in the first place and that she really never had much interest in aligning with him at all.

Ok dudes this isn't even love, they even admit it here.

  • Morality Pet:
    • Strangely, Alex seems to be Cody's. Despite not being in his alliance and openly admitting she wants him gone, Cody is by far at his nicest around her and only seems to have positive things to say about her as a contestant and as a person. Despite bringing out the best in him, his admiration and respect for her starts to become obsessive in nature to the point where he becomes unhinged game wise and it destroys his entire game.
    • Raven appears to be one as well, with Cody caring about her well-being and genuinely wanting to help her in any way he can.
    • Jessica is his showmance and the only person who really stuck by his side, so that's why she would keep Cody in check when he becomes too intense.

Removing all but Jessica.

  • Must Make Amends: This will really surprise you. Once Josh won the game, Cody immediately went and apologized to Josh's folks for his misconduct in the house, proving that all the stuff he said was brought out by anger and not truly personal.
Josh: It was so crazy. He came up to me and shook my hand and congratulated me. I was not expecting that and he said, 'I apologize. It was just a part of the game.' I apologized too and he then went to my family and said, 'I apologize. It was just a game move and just a show. If I hurt you guys I'm so sorry.' That was huge. As a man I really respected that and it meant a lot. Even though we're not friends and we probably won't talk after this, I really appreciated that and it meant a lot to me.

Normally I would remove this for being out of game stuff but it is kinda sweet so I'll just leave this one.

  • Never My Fault: Cody can't own up to all of his bad behavior, his poor attitude throughout the game, and the many horrible things that he said while he was in the house. He doesn't own up to anything, including the fact that he was an abrasive bully who threatened and abused people while in the house and was also completely and unnecessarily rude to other people for no reason. He also refuses to take responsibility for being transphobic and making hurtful comments about the Transgender community (such as referring to them as "trannies" and saying that he doesn't care about their cause because they are only 0.00001% of the total human population). In fact, when an interviewer for Buzz Feed had mentioned that there was a military transgender ban that was implemented by President Trump a few months ago, Cody widely grinned at this, meaning that he was very supportive and happy that this was the case and that transgender people were no longer allowed to be patriots, join the military and serve their country like everyone else. Cody is seriously a bigoted person and he is very ignorant and has a lot to learn. The fact that he didn't even apologize for his actions and instead, chose to brush it aside and condone it makes his ignorance and bigotry that much more worse and problematic.

The transphobia is disgusting but I am removing that segment of this because it does not represent the trope. at. all.

  • Nice Guy: The only nice guy in Cody's alliance. Especially shows when he is among the first to ditch Cody completely. And when everybody, including Raven (who just caught hell from Jessica), moves in on Cody and Jessica for a group hazing, he walks away and says in the Diary Room a little later that this is not what he wanted his game to be. He also went as far as to confront Christmas about antagonizing Cody after Paul set the plans in action. However, despite being nice, mellow and down to earth most of the time, it's not wise to make an enemy out of him by either betraying him or lying to him.

I loved when Cody was the first one to ditch Cody.

  • Sanity Slippage: Cody pulled a mini-Audrey style breakdown after Jessica left the game. After she was evicted, Cody started to act strangely. Since he knew that he was the target, he didn't bother to build any more relationships or create any more allies to help him in the game. After Alex twisted the knife in his back by backdooring him, Cody became even more isolated than before. He spent all of his time alone and away from everyone in the Have-Not room reading the Bible all day. The only time that he would come out of the Have-Not room was when he had to use the bathroom or when he had to go to the kitchen to eat. Houseguests noticed Cody's antisocial behavior and constantly discussed how strange it was. Cody also lashed out randomly at other houseguests by telling them that he hated them and didn't want to be friends with them once the game was over. Cody became extremely vengeful and spiteful towards Alex and, lashing out at her in the worst ways imaginable. He even took Alex's box of cereal and ate the whole thing as a way to spite Alex. He didn't take it well after Jessica left. Cody has had a soft spot for Alex and has tried to work with and protect for the entirety of the game, but when she threw him to the wolves, it just made Cody lose it even more. Cody mentally and emotionally checked out of the game and lost his sense of stability and his anchor in Jessica. It was clear that Cody was going nuts. He even lampshaded this during his Exit Interview with Julie Chen saying that he was finally happy to be out of that house because he was finding it way too emotionally taxing and exhausting. He was not too thrilled when he learned that it was a Double Eviction and that another one of the lunatics left in the house was going to be joining him in the jury house considering that he just wanted some peace and quiet after going crazy in a house filled with people that he didn't like. It's apparent that even though Cody is mentally unstable to begin with, being in that house, playing that kind of game, and being around a bunch of people that he didn't like or click with did nothing for his sanity and mental stability.

Jeez look at that wall.

  • Star-Crossed Lovers: With Jessica. His relationship with Jessica has been nothing but endless chaos and turmoil. the two loved each other so much yet they were constantly being torn apart. They were constantly targeted because everyone hated them and wanted them out of the house. Cody and Jessica tried to do everything in their power to try to stay together so that they could be with each other for the rest of the summer but unfortunately for them, the Big Brother Gods went out of their way to keep them apart. First, Cody was separated from Jessica in Week 2 when Paul backdoors and then evicts Cody. A few weeks later, Jessica and Cody were reunited once again when Cody wins the Battle Back Competition which ensures that he has a second chance in the game. Unfortunately, just because Cody won his way back in the house and Jessica was granted the Halting Hex Temptation from America (the temptation which would give Jessica the ability to null an eviction of her choice over a span of four weeks) didn't mean that they had any luck in staying together. As soon as Cody and Jessica were reunited and sharing in their romantic bliss as they were the ones in power with Jessica being the HOH, it all came crashing down afterwards. Once Cody and Jessica were vulnerable, they both became the number one targets of the house once again. Paul won HOH and put them on the block but with their luck, Jessica used her temptation to stop one of them from being evicted. But it didn't change their fate all that much in the game or their chances from being split apart as the following week Josh won HOH. Although Josh didn't nominate her, Jessica became the third nominee after losing (more like throwing) the Safety Competition (a curse that Jessica herself placed upon the entire house when she decided to accept the Halting Hex temptation). Jessica was evicted one week before jury starts, which means that Cody and Jessica are separated from each other for the rest of the summer. A week later, Cody gets evicted after Jessica and goes to jury without Jessica.

Oh my god this one is even longer, trimmed!

  • Sore Loser: Also he was salty and bitter when he was getting evicted. When it was announced that he was evicted, he showed how much of a poor sport he was when he decided to climb on top of the living room glass table and walk over it so that he could leave the house without hugging anyone or wishing anyone else left in the game good luck. And just before that, he made up an eviction speech where he threw Alex and Jason under the bus and made up Blatant Lies about the two of them trying to flip the house. Cody chose to throw Alex under the bus because she didn't want to work with him.

This is fusing two evictions into one and also he hadn't lost by the point he threw Alex under the bus. Keeping the Table part.

Removing the reference.

  • Woman Scorned: GenderInverted
    • Cody spent the earlier weeks persistently trying to get Alex to be in an alliance with him. Alex rejected Cody and his offer by telling him point blank that she was going to target him and the other showmance couples. Cody didn't take Alex's decline too well and he nominated her.
    • In Week 7 after Alex had put Cody on the block as a replacement nominee, he ate the whole box of Alex's cereal (she told him that he was only allowed to have some of it) just to spite her. Before that, he had told Alex that he hated her and didn't want anything to do with her when she and the rest of the house confronted him on what he had done. On the other hand, Cody being nominated wasn't what made him angry, it was the fact that it was Alex of all people that did it. It could also be assumed that Cody was also getting revenge against Alex for both declining an alliance with him and nominating him. Talk about Cody being majorly scorned!
    • And during his Eviction Speech, he calls out Alex solely, saying that she played a dirty game and that she had the intention of getting her number one ally Paul out of the house (which is NOT true since she was faking with Cody when he was trying to campaign to her). In addition, he tells Paul that basically Alex is a backstabber and cannot be trusted. If Cody feels betrayed or disappointed by anyone in the game, it's Alex. He's a man scorned!
  • Yandere: For Alex — in the earlier weeks of the game, Cody had a strange yet strong obsession and infatuation with Alex. Cody has repeatedly stated that he has a lot of "respect" for Alex because she is an athletic girl who is a strong competitor. Cody seemed to have an obsession with keeping Alex in the game even though the rest of his alliance wanted her evicted. He was willing to go to some extreme lengths to protect Alex and keep her in the game, such as going against his entire alliance and throwing the POV competition so that Alex would win. Cody also dived into Murder the Hypotenuse area when he decided to target and backdoor Paul because he (Paul) had been targeting Alex hardcore in the first week and Cody admitted that it bothered the f—- out of him. Cody was also highly persistent, to Dogged Nice Guy and Stalker with a Crush levels, in trying to get Alex to be in an alliance with him simply because he had such a strong interest in her. When Alex rejected Cody's offer for an alliance, he nominated her for possible eviction. On the live feeds, it seemed that every time Cody was talking, he couldn't help but bring up Alex every minute, even to Jessica. Hell, the guy was so obsessed with Alex and had her constantly on his mind that he called Jessica "Alex" while they were snuggling in bed together! Even Jessica has frequently complained about Cody's obsession with Alex! Christmas even lampshades it on the live feeds when talking to Alex. Alex had said that Jessica thought she was trying to hit on Cody and Christmas had said it was because Cody was obsessed with her.

Again this is not a romance, it is trying to get someone on his side.

  • Zero-Approval Gambit: Cody made no bones about going after Paul first and foremost. Yet in doing so, he incurred the wrath of the house and America itself. They're directly responsible for getting Cody out of the game and then netting him his haters in-house because they gave Paul the Pendant of Protection the very same week he tried to oust Paul and that trickled down into a brouhaha. Additionally, the entire gambit failed since it resulted in his eviction and Paul gaining an extreme amount of power and support inside the house. This was before the tables turned when America saw how much all this power was going to Paul's head and felt very bad for poor Cody and are strongly campaigning for him to be favorite houseguest of the season.

Removed the "are strongly campaigning"

My goodness, that's just one person.

This is gonna take awhile.

^Speaking of Jessica (Fifth Boot), I removed some tropes that were obvious misuse/YMMV. My comments are in pink.

    Removals
  • Aloof Dark-Haired Girl: Subverted. Jessica is very attractive, exotic and beautiful with dark hair, brown eyes and olive tanned skin and appears that she would have the personality and demeanour of an Ice Queen since she's a mega Alpha Bitch. However, she's the opposite of icy, cold, and aloof (although she does have her moments especially when she's being catty or bitchy) in regards to her personality, attitude and demeanour. Instead, Jessica is much more on the Hot-Blooded, emotional, feisty, and passionate side in terms of her personality.
Not a subversion. Plus, I find it amusing that some troper hated her for being racist but calls her "exotic". And by amusing, I mean hypocritical.

  • Annoying Younger Sibling: When Jessica and Cody were discussing their families and their siblings, Jessica said she's the youngest child and the baby of her family. She has an older brother.
Doesn't say whether her brother finds her annoying, snipped.

  • Hell, how about the entire house? It seems that NOBODY likes Jessica anymore. Even the people that were somewhat close with Jessica before, such as Mark and Elena, have distanced themselves from her (and by extension, Cody). At least by the end of it all, she is still with Cody.
Removed from Arch-Enemy, misuse.

  • Celebrity Resemblance:
    • With Ariana Grande; it got particularly notable after Jessica wore cat ears for a period of time. Funny when you consider Ariana's own brother Frankie is one of the most (in)famous former houseguests, and Jess behaves similarly.
    • With Jessica Alba. Bonus points for sharing the same first name.
YMMV, snipped.

Was commented out for being zce.

  • Domestic Abuse: Averted for the most part. Although Jessica is a major bitch to everyone else and doesn't treat the majority of the other houseguests in a nice manner. On the other hand, she treats Cody the best out of everyone but it's understandable considering that he's her romantic partner. Despite this, she does have her incredibly bitchy, hostile and catty moments with Cody and she can be very manipulative, combative and argumentative towards him especially when she doesn't get her way with him. Cody even stated to Mark that he finds Jessica controlling, bossy and domineering at times and he doesn't like the way she treats him sometimes.
Aversions are not examples, and I felt gross just reading this.

  • Heel–Face Door-Slam: When she kept hating on Josh on a week when he strongly considered getting rid of Elena, Josh simply bowed to the house majority and she was overwhelmingly flushed out of the game. Kevin also left her to her fate because with all the blowups the showmance bore witness to, he clearly saw that she and Cody were poison.
Doesn't explain how she tried to do a Heel–Face Turn, misuse.

  • Irony: Did you think the producers were really going to stop with the fun of temptations so soon? Her decision to take the last temptation of the Den of Temptation extended the recurrence of temptations in the game for 3 more weeks. Looks like the producers have a contingency plan.
Where's the Irony in this?

Edit: I've removed most of the Ax-Crazy examples as they were misused for when female contestants got angry. Only one I kept was Series 19's Cody, as I'm not 100% on that one.

Wait, since when was AV a YMMV trope? And even if it isn't, a contestant on a reality show about lying, cheating, and backstabbing is deliberate misuse of the trope even if he was voted out. I guess you could argue he was a victim from hazing but a lot of viewers actually sided with Cody and Jessica on that and felt the house literally doing Paul's dirty work was unnecessary. Speaking of Paul, have fun cleaning them up. I'll try to chime in when I can.

I'm not seeing a whole lot of Paul references that need cleaning, and yeah the trope misuse is really bad here. So much just complaining about the players disguised as normal tropes. It's especially bad with Fatal Flaw which has just walls and walls of text bashing whomever.

And it's all magnified for the s19 pages which got so much more attention than it really deserved.

And thank you thank you for cleaning Jessica's a little, was not looking forwards to that one.

I'm stuck on cleaning Juror #2 right now...

     Juror # 2

  • Abhorrent Admirer: Downplayed. Elena doesn't really go for Mark's type because she prefers challenging intellectuals and not just muscle-heads. He keeps trying to win her over but she's just not that into him. They also had some... well... yeehaw. She also has an admirer in Josh, who she admits that she is Just Friends with and does not see him in a romantic sense despite him having a mega crush on her and openly admitting it to her face.

So downplayed it's not really accurate

  • Affably Evil: She was The Dragon for Paul and was working for the bad side in the earlier part of the game (that is, before she decided to turn on him), but other than that, she appeared to be affable, sociable and friendly regardless. But just because she had a generally outward friendly and flirty persona didn't mean that there wasn't a bitchy, catty and mean person underneath it all.

It begins...

  • Ambiguously Bi: Elena shared a good-bye kiss with Raven on the lips.. She also had major Ship Tease with Christmas earlier on in the game. Elena would cuddle Christmas in bed! It seems that Elena doesn't care which gender she's showing love to as she seems to like 'em both. However, despite her flirtations with both sexes, relationship wise, she prefers to be with men over women since she engaged in a showmance with Mark.

Removed... last line ig

  • All Love Is Unrequited: Played Straight and then Subverted in regards to Mark's feelings towards Elena. Mark has always visibly had an attraction to Elena and always wanted to be in a romantic relationship with her, constantly talking about her to other houseguests. Everyone knew about how much Mark liked Elena. However, Elena didn't reciprocate Mark's feelings at first because she wasn't physically attracted to him. Elena had commented that Mark isn't her type and that she doesn't go for overly athletic muscle heads like Mark but instead is drawn to nerdy, intellectual types. The other reason why Elena didn't reciprocate Mark's feelings is that she wasn't sure if she wanted to get involved with someone while playing the game because it would prove to be too distracting and too challenging and it could make her a target if she coupled up with someone. Elena even admitted to other people in the house that her feelings for Mark weren't that real and that she was simply using him to help her game. However, it's later on subverted as Elena does eventually develop true feelings for Mark and she does get into a romance with Mark in jury and outside of the house.

Wow it's a completely inaccurate wall of trope. cut.

  • Ambiguously Evil: Elena's alignment is so ambiguous that it's really difficult to tell where she really side. It almost seemed as though Elena was teetering between being one the good or bad side. Originally, she was working for the Big Bad Cody as she was in a majority alliance with him. But when Cody betrayed the alliance, Elena chose to side with Paul. For the majority of the game, Elena's loyalty was to Paul and she was The Dragon to him. Once she discovers that Paul is controlling everyone and discovers that she is expendable to Paul, she becomes The Starscream and attempts to join up with Cody and Mark in order to get Paul out of the house. Elena is a selfish player who would to backstab others and go back on her word if she feels something won't benefit her. She decided to go back on her word to Alex when she made a promise that she wouldn't curse her in the prize and punishment POV competition. Elena chose to take $5,000 from Alex and give her a gruelling Camping Punishment which resulted in exposing to the house how selfish, petty and greedy she is. Elena's moral alignment in the game is so confusing because she's constantly zig zagging between being on the heroic side or the villainous side. However, for the majority of the season, she's been on the bad side because of her loyalty to Paul. All in all, Elena will benefit Elena no matter what the costs.

Wall of text, removed all but first line.

  • Ambition is Evil: Elena is extremely selfish when she wants something. She's willing to lie and backstab in order to get what she wants. In Week 7, Elena had made a promise to Alex that she wouldn't curse her during the POV competition. But because Elena was so ambitious and greedy to win money at any costs, she decided to go back on her word and betray Alex by taking $5,000 from Alex and subjecting her to a brutal Camping Guide Punishment. Even Alex called out Elena for her ambitious and greedy ways. Elena even admitted to Mark and during one of her DR sessions that she didn't feel bad for stepping on Alex's toes in order to win that small amount of money.

...

  • Arch-Enemy:
    • Interestingly enough, Elena used to like Alex on a personal level. However, they became enemies in Week 7 when Elena decided to break her word when she had made a promise to Alex that she would't curse her during a prize and punishment POV competition. During the POV competition, Alex came in 2nd place and Elena won the competition coming in 1st place. However, Elena won the Camping Punishment and therefore wanted to switch with another houseguest. When it came time for her to choose which prize or punishment she wanted out of Alex's (5G's), Matt's (The POV), Jason (the Extremitard Punishment), Paul's (Tandem Skydiving Punishment), or Mark's (Colorado Trip), Elena chose the $5,000 and giving Alex the Camping Punishment, breaking her promise to Alex in the process. This caused Alex to become extremely bitter and salty towards Elena. Alex was so mad at Elena the she wanted to target her over Cody and get her out of the house. Elena, on the other hand, didn't show any guilt for taking the $5,000 because she knew that her life span in the game was going to be short-lived so she decided to break her word and take a gamble by taking what she can get before she leaves. The tension between the two continued to build throughout the week with Alex growing more resentful towards Elena every single time that she had to conduct her Camping Punishment (which consisted of wearing a camping costume, lugging around the house with numerous camping gear and luggage and a grill, and having to cook hot dogs for the entire house every time a bugle sounded off at any time of the day for an entire week). There was a point when Alex even wanted Elena out of Cody, who has been the main house target for weeks, simply because she disliked her so much. Elena also reciprocated her dislike of Alex, finding her to be petty over the punishment and how she reacted. During the same week, Elena and Alex come to a head and the two get into a major fight in front of the house where Alex calls out Elena for her decision to go back on her word. Since then, the two have disliked and targeted each other.
    • Much of the dislike between Elena and Dominique was one sided. Dominique disliked Elena simply because she was jealous over Elena being in a relationship or showmance with Mark. Elena also didn't like Dominique in return but for completely different reasons. Elena found Dominique to be extremely untruth worthy, dishonest, and delusional. Elena hated how Dominique was trying to exploit people's games by trying to gather information during her talk shows. She stated that she has no trust in Dominique and that if she were to win HOH, she would target Dominique because of sketchy behavior and gameplay. Dominique also tried to attempt throwing Elena under the bus during the week that she was on the block, which caused Elena to dislike and distrust her even more. Elena has also said that she can't stand when Dominique tries to constantly use her religion in the game and she thinks that Dominique is very delusional about the Lord assisting her in the game of Big Brother. In addition, Elena didn't really like Mark's friendship with Dominique as she felt that Dominique had way too much influence on Mark and was telling Mark to distance himself from Elena. While Dominique's dislike of Elena was more personal and petty in nature, Elena's dislike of Dominique was much more game related.

Too long, I'm not even going to bother fixing these.

  • The Baroness: Type I which is the Sexpot type. She is an Ice Queen with a chilly, aloof and icy personality, but she's also a Femme Fatale and a Manipulative Bitch rolled as well. Elena would use her sexuality as much as possible as she is a very physically attractive woman and she likes to use that to her advantage. She is incredibly manipulative and very ruthless. She has no regard for backstabbing other people as long as she gets her way. She will charm men and women alike with her feminine wiles and use her sexuality on them to get what she wants. Elena Really Gets Around and is willing to flirt with anyone that suits her fancy. However, despite being primarily the Sexpot type, she does have shades of the Rosa Klebb type as she does have a very domineering and controlling side to her personality. And if she wants, she can be aggressive, mean and petty towards other people. In the case of her relationship or dynamic with Mark, Elena is controlling everything. Elena likes to assert her dominance over Mark, who is more sensitive emotionally than Elena is.
  • Beauty Is Bad: Downplayed. Elena is an attractive girl who's a Ms. Fanservice and she can be pretty selfish, bitchy and catty at times, but she's nowhere near having the same level of bitchiness and cattiness that Jessica has.

bruh

  • Big-Breast Pride: Has a large bust and isn't afraid to show it as much as possible.

She has boobs, she must be proud of them???

  • Black Widow: Subverted. Mark and Elena may have been a couple, but before they became serious with each other, Elena was uncertain if she wanted to be with Mark in the house. In fact, she has told other houseguests that she had no intention of staying loyal to him and plotted to get rid of him. Elena wanted him out because she felt uncomfortable with Mark's advances and attraction towards her mostly because she didn't exactly feel the same way about him that he did about her. But once Elena realized that Mark was loyal to her and had every intention of taking her to the end with him, Elena changed her mind about getting rid of him and ended up reciprocating his feelings.

Subverted, kill it.

  • Blonde, Brunette, Redhead: Elena (Blonde), Jessica (Brunette) and Raven (Redhead). They also fit the classes stereotypes often associated with their hair colors. Elena is a Dumb Blonde (ditzy, naive, sex kitten), Jessica is a Brainy Brunette (manipulative, smart, intuitive) and Raven is a Fiery Redhead (passionate, hot headed, emotional).

Killing it because of the Dumb Blonde part that we'll see was a subversion later.

  • Brainless Beauty: Elena is an attractive girl but she is a Dumb Blonde in many ways. She doesn't seem to know what's going on half the time in the house because she's often Locked Out of the Loop. It's later subverted when it's more a case of Obfuscating Stupidity when she comes to realize that Paul is running the house and that she does have some good instincts regarding what's going on.

Subverted, kill it.

  • Captain Obvious: Elena said that she didn't like Paul's game because he lied, backstabbed, manipulated everyone to get where he is, and that Paul eliminated all of his competition so that he could get as far as he did, which is the main appeal of Big Brother. Elena doesn't understand the concepts of the game but this is really not a surprise considering that she was completely out of it for most of the game and didn't know what was going on half of the time.

See this is what I'm talking about with the tropes being excuses to insult the contestants.

  • The Ditz: Elena doesn't seem to have much game instinct and she's Locked Out of the Loop and blindsided a lot in the game. During the Jury Roundtable segment, Elena had a Captain Obvious moment when the said that Paul only made it to the end by eliminating the bigger threats.
  • Dumb Blonde: During a Jury Roundtable segment, the blonde Elena came off as unintelligent when she commented that Paul managed to get to the end because they got rid of all of their competition.

She's not being dumb per se, she just doesn't like Paul's gameplay. Also hey it's an actual instance of Paul being referred to as him so we can remove that too!

  • The Dragon: For Paul. Since the start of the game, Elena was one of Paul's closest allies and she would do everything that he asked of her. Elena really didn't provide anything of value to the game overall other than being Paul's loyal follower and minion.
    • Devour the Dragon: Once Paul realizes that Elena is much too attached to Cody and Jessica as well as to Mark, he realizes that she is of no good use to him any longer. Come Double Eviction night, Elena is put on the block alongside Mark for eviction. Mark wins the POV and saves himself. Paul and the rest of the house (with the exception of Mark) vote out Elena.
    • Dragon with an Agenda: Elena may have had loyalty to Paul since the start of the game, but eventually her plans didn't always coincide with Paul's. She came to realize that Paul was controlling everyone in the house and that he was the biggest threat in the game. Elena came to realize that she would have to get rid of Paul if she wanted to make it to the end. However, despite her coming to the realization that Paul was a dangerous threat in the game, Elena became public enemy number one and was evicted on Double Eviction.
    • Noble Top Enforcer: She's not as ruthless and aggressive as Paul is but that doesn't mean that Elena is completely nice either. She can be very bitchy and catty when she wants to be. Elena also has an incredibly petty side to her personality but despite her flaws, she's still a fairly good and noble person.
    • The Starscream: Despite her being loyal to Paul for the majority of the game, she does eventually turn on Paul and realizes that Paul is running the show. She also plots and schemes with Mark, Cody and Jessica targeting Paul and eventually getting him out of the house. Unfortunately for her, she fails in her plans as she's evicted on Double Eviction night.

Wall of text.

  • Emotionless Girl: She's the Ice Queen and she rarely shows any emotion. There hasn't been a time throughout the season when Elena showed any sense of weakness or vulnerability on an emotional level. She never even cried or shed any tears at all. The only emotion that she did manage to show was anger but that was because she was provoked into it. Other than that, Elena doesn't commonly show any emotion or any emotional expressions on her face. Nothing really seems to affect Elena or bother her. However, there was one instance when Elena did manage to crack the stoic and icy facade and that was when she was on the block against Mark during Double Eviction and knew that she was the one going home because Mark had won the POV to save himself and she was the backup target. Here, she did shed some Broken Tears knowing that she and Mark were going to be separated from each other.

Just... inaccurate.

  • Evil Is Petty: Elena may be a Nice Girl most of the time, but she can be extremely catty and bitchy. She's also incredibly selfish and do things that will only benefit her. During a prize and punishment POV competition in Week 7, Elena decided to be petty when she chose to take 5G's from Alex and give her the Camping Punishment in return. What makes it worse is that before the competition happened, Elena and Alex both promised that they won;don't curse or punish each other shall the POV competition be a prize and punishment one. Elena decided to go back on her word and backstab Alex. She revealed that she's extremely selfish and didn't even care that she managed to piss off the HOH which would create a bigger target for herself. When Alex received her Camping Punishment and was conducting it for the first time, Elena continued with her petty attitude by laughing and jeering at her behind her back and bragging about how she's proud that she took the $5,000 from her because of how she's handling receiving the punishment.

Trimmed.

  • Fatal Flaw:
    • Greed: Elena let her greed get the best of her and that shortened her game. During the week that she was nominated, Elena had made a promise to Alex that she wouldn't curse her with a punishment if they were to play against each other in a prize or punishment POV competition. But when it came time for Elena to uphold her promise and her end of the bargain, Elena let her greedy nature control her. Instead of taking the POV which would ensure her safety from the block, she decided to take $5,000 from Alex and give her a brutal Camp Guide Punishment in return. For this punishment, Alex, even though she was HOH, had to wear a camp guide costume, walk around the house with a lot of heavy camping luggage along with carrying a grill, had to set up camp (including a setting up a tent from scratch every single time), and had to grill and make hot dogs for every single houseguest every time the bugle sound had gone off and no matter what time of day it was (it could be morning, noon, or night). By Elena giving Alex such a harsh punishment and breaking her word because she couldn't control her greed and decided to rob Alex of the money, Elena made herself a much bigger target than she already was. She exposed herself as a liar and and a betrayer who couldn't be trusted. Elena tried to justify her greed by saying that she knew that she was a target and she didn't know if she would be lasting much longer in the game so she decided to take whatever prize or money that she could get her hands on before her time in the game came to an end. Her greed cost her the game because she honked off the HOH and many of the other houseguests.
    • Chronic Backstabbing Disorder: Elena had no true loyalties to anyone. The only loyalty that she had was to herself. Yes, she appeared to be loyal to Paul for the most part and she was since the beginning of the game. But because Mark had decided to turn on Paul, Elena followed suit simply because she wanted to. Her backstabbing nature made her come off as very disloyal and nobody trusted her. There were times when her loyalty to Mark was even questionable and other houseguests had even mentioned it to Mark as well. Other houseguests such as Josh and Christmas has pointed out to Mark that Elena was not a reliable and trustworthy ally because she was disloyal and would backstab anyone in a heartbeat. Elena had even told other people in the house that she didn't want anything to do with Mark and that if she had the opportunity, she would turn on him and get rid of him. But then afterwards, she would pretend that she is on Mark's side and pretend like she never talked trash about him or that she was never plotting on getting rid of him. Elena displayed the same backstabbing and disloyal behavior towards Alex. Elena had promised Alex that she would never curse her or give her a punishment if they were playing in a prize or punishment POV competition. She decides to betray Alex by taking the $5,000 money prize from her and saddling her with a terrible Camping Guide Punishment in which she, as the HOH, had to do for an entire week. Because of her inability to stay loyal to anyone and her constant backstabbing ways, everyone grew leery of her, started to distrust her, then turned on her.
    • Gluttony: SWEET (pun intended) JESUS, there was never a time when Elena was not eating. She would always be stuffing her mouth with food no matter what time of the day it was. When Elena eats, she takes very large portions and she never seems to be satisfied. One example of her displaying a gluttonous streak within her personality is her constant habit of making huge bowls of ice cream. Josh had made a criticism about how much ice cream she was eating, but she could only comment that she didn't care what he thought and that's how she chooses to eat her food. It seems that the only thing that Elena did all day was talk trash and eat food all day. Interestingly enough, it seems that due to her gluttony, Elena may be battling serious self esteem issues regarding her fuller figured body. There have been runners that Elena mentioned that she suffered from eating disorders in the past and as a result, has a very complicated relationship with food. Elena also seems to use food to comfort her when she is feeling upset or down about something. Her gluttony doesn't just extend to just food, but also to drink as well. Elena has said that she has a love of consuming a lot of alcohol and getting drunk.
    • Pettiness: Elena is an extremely petty and bitchy person. She is very catty and she'll do many petty things to get back at people she doesn't like. She talks endless trash about other houseguests and displays a superior attitude believing that she is better than everyone else. A key example of Elena displaying her petty side was when she had made a promise to Alex that she wouldn't curse her with a punishment during the POV competition. Alex believed that Elena wouldn't go back on her word. However, Elena betrayed Alex and acted petty by taking money from Alex and giving her a brutal camping punishment in return. Instead of owning up to her behavior and the fact that she broke her word to Alex, she decided to display a Never My Fault attitude and not take responsibility for what she did. Instead of owning up to her behavior and apologizing to Alex, she decided to rub it in Alex's face that she got money and that she had to perform a punishment for an entire week. When she was conversing with Mark and Cody about Alex doing the punishment, she cruelly said that she didn't care and that Alex was going to have to suck it up. She even managed to annoy Alex even more and try to get under her skin by watching Alex perform her punishment so that she could serve as a reminder of betraying Alex. This only made Alex angrier at Elena for acting so petty about what she did, which in turn made Elena become a bigger target.
    • Selfishness: Elena is an extremely selfish and self absorbed person. She doesn't seem to care about anyone but herself and she is all about self preservation. As mentioned earlier, she is only concerned with how something can benefit her and she's willing to use and manipulate people to get what she wants. The biggest example of her showing off her selfish side is when she decided to go back on her word to Alex by taking a money prize and giving her a camping punishment in return. She didn't have any consideration for how giving Alex that punishment may have made Alex feel and how humiliated that she may have felt because of the fact that Elena chose to break her promise to her in front of everyone. When Elena was called out for her selfish behavior in a house meeting, she couldn't even find the words or excuses to justify herself. Elena tried to say that she only took the money prize because she knew that she was a target and that the probability of her going home any time was very high and because of it, she felt that she had to take what she could get before she was evicted. That doesn't justify her selfish behavior. Elena also thrives on being the centre of attention. It's always got to be about her and if the attention isn't focused on her, she isn't a happy person. Her attention seeking and selfish ways have become more visible post season as she has been starved for fame and attention and is trying to capitalize on it. Her selfishness caused her to not be liked or trusted in the game.

Fatal Flaw wall of insults, kill it with fire.

  • Femme Fatale: Proudly flaunts her assets and uses her sexuality to further herself in the game. Her main target is Mark, who is her "showmance" partner. However, it's not completely certain whether or not Elena has genuine feelings for Mark or if she's just playing and using him.

They're currently together soooo

  • Faux Action Girl: It looked like Elena would be one of the stronger female houseguests of the season competitive wise, but instead she's one of the worst female competitors, especially in comparison to Alex and Christmas who are highly athletic.

Misuse.

Oh my.

  • Heel–Face Revolving Door: Elena plays for Elena, plain and simple. She sided with Paul and Cody several times, and Josh called her out on it. It wasn't until she did something really despicable out in the open to Alex that the whole house finally recognized that Elena can't be trusted at all.

I'm not even sure how the troper thought this was proper use of the trope.

  • Honey Trap: Her show-mance with Mark is all for show (save for some quality bedroom time), and she's willing to dump him like a hot coal if he stands in the way of her game. It's also why Paul wants to knock her out of the running. Yet she's likely not going anywhere now that she's flirting with Paul. Defied when Elena expresses her longing for Mark outside the game. Post-eviction, there are feelings between them and she's agreed to date him casually.

There's just so much wrong here.

  • It's All About Me: Elena is extremely selfish and self absorbed. Elena had made a promise to Alex that she wouldn't curse her if they were playing against each other in a prize and punishment POV competition. But Elena chose to be selfish and instead chose to curse Alex by taking away the $5,000 prize that Alex won in the contest and making Alex do a brutal Camping Punishment in return. It was Elena's selfish and self absorbed attitude that made Elena the next biggest target after Cody.

It's actually impressive how salty the troper is over this one incident.

  • Kick the Dog: Elena decided to go back on the promise that she made with Alex about not cursing or punishing each other during a prize and punishment POV competition. Elena took $5,000 from Alex and cursed her with a Camping Punishment which would ensure that Alex would have to wear a camping outfit, walk around the entire house dragging and lugging around heavy camping bags and a grill, and set up a tent and a grill so that she can cook hot dogs for everyone in the house every time a bugle goes off for an entire week any time of the day. Elena seriously did not need to do that. She only made the target on her back even bigger than before by breaking her word in front of the entire house.

It's not even like she knew what the punishment was lol. Or that Alex was particularly the dog in this expression...

  • Light Is Good: Elena commonly wears lighter colored clothing, she's also blonde haired and fair skinned. Elena eventually went to the good side after she turned on Paul by becoming The Starscream and doing a Heel–Face Turn.
  • Light Is Not Good: Elena is commonly seen wearing lighter colored or bright colored clothing. In addition, she was also working for Paul as The Dragon for him and therefore, was working for the bad side of the house. This later changes when she does a Heel–Face Turn and becomes The Starscream to Paul.

Slightly conflicting tropes don't we think?

  • Manipulative Bitch: Elena resorts to manipulation tactics and using her sexuality whenever she wants something. Normally, she uses these tactics on Mark and there was a point when her intentions regarding Mark were questioned. Elena came off as so manipulative that it was uncertain whether or not she was being genuine with Mark in her feelings or if she was just simply using him for game related reasons.

Again I'm just cutting all the speculation over whether her relationship with Mark was for the game or not.

  • Never My Fault: Elena never seems to take blame or responsibility for what she does. She has a very selfish and self absorbed mentality. When she broke her word to Alex by saddling her with a brutal punishment and taking a money prize from her, Elena didn't own up to what she did and instead chose to blame Alex and criticize her for the way that she was acting over being betrayed by her. Instead of apologizing to Alex for breaking her word, she decided to act like an Entitled Bitch who felt like she didn't deserve any blame for what she did or shouldn't take any responsibility because she was likely the next one going home.

OKAY YOU LIKE ALEX

  • The Scapegoat: Justified, as she's disloyal to everybody, sometimes even Mark. Any time loyalties are brought up in the house near eviction nominations and Veto meetings, her name gets dropped as someone to either use as a pawn or to watch for signs of treachery.
  • Ship Tease: With Mark and Christmas. As of week four Mark is subverted, since she's flirting with him to get farther in the game, while her relationship with Paul seems to be more genuine.

Clearly written at the time.

Nothx

  • Too Dumb to Live: Did Elena seriously think that betraying and punishing the HOH (Alex), who has the most power in the house, to have to do a gruelling and brutal Camping Punishment for an entire week and taking $5,000 from her would not piss her off and make her want to target her even more? Elena is just not the sharpest tool in the shed. And she listened to Cody, the same person that she is up against on the block. Thus she gets evicted on Double Eviction right after Cody.
