Nick the photographer - Torry the Rockruff & Emmett the Eevee out - Route 1, with Hyde, Adrian, Flint, Jack, (Jacques) and George.
Nick looked over at Hyde, and gave him a nod. "Rykard, huh? Sounds fitting," Nick thought aloud, then glanced at the others. "So, shall we make our way towards Betata?" the photographer wondered, before spotting the wild Pokemon that had decided to try and sneak some of their food.
"Huh, never seen one of those," Nick muttered, thinking that it reminded him of a Zubat, but humanoid, as he caught a quick couple of photos of it. "If anyone wants to try catching it, now's the time. Personally I'm game to keep moving," he added.
His two Pokemon meanwhile both took some mild exception to the newcomer; or at least, Torry didn't like that they were trying to get at their food. The Rockruff wasn't upset enough to go attacking without Nick's order, but the canine Pokemon did move a bit closer and bark repeatedly towards the intruder. Emmett watched Torry for a moment, then moved alongside the Rockruff and let out a few yips that were meant to sound threatening, but were a bit on the squeaky side to really sound intimidating.

Completely unfamiliar with this newcomer, Hyde drew his Pokedex.
The most important thing he gleaned from it was that this strange little gremlin was part dark-type. Reflexively, he tightened his arm's grip around Zullie, eliciting a confused look from the little ghost. The memory of the Nickits' attack from earlier in the day had come rushing back to him. Once again, Hyde tried unconvincingly to sound nonchalant.
"Well, uh... my Pokemon are both a bit worn out at the moment. As long as it's not hurting anyone, I'm okay with leaving it be," Hyde explained. At that, Zullie seemed to object.
"Riid~ dree vuh! Rriii?" Zullie trilled as she squirmed out of Hyde's grasp. She seemed to take umbrage at the implication that she wasn't up to a fight. Hyde waved his hands and tried to placate the slighted specter.
"Look, I'm just worried that, uh- that if you fight after such a big meal, you'll make yourself sick," Hyde said, thinking that sounded perfectly reasonable. If anything, Zullie went from confused to actually angry. Pouting and blushing in equal measure, Zullie gave a dismissive "Vuuh!" and retreated to her sulking-spot above Hyde's head. Hyde frowned, not quite sure what it was he'd said, but inside he was still relieved to keep her out of another fight with a dark-type.

Once a newcomer had made themselves known, congratulating him on his catch even, Joachim nodded and opted to pick up Gliss, wanting to carry them so they could rest. Of course, this meant that now his hands were starting to get cold, but for the time being, he would endure it as he followed along.
Proud member of the AGOG community.Route 1-Picnic
The mighty Shinx happily takes the slab of meat, trotting back to her trainer with her head held high.
“Mrbl!”
“Ah…Luna…”
Luna tilts her head at the boy, this was her reward was it not?
He sighs, “Well…at least you asked…kinda”
“Mrowfh”
After delicious sandwiches were had by all, there was a nice pile of fluffy critters snoozing in a sun ray, content and relaxed.
Adrian looks over in time to witness the little thief.
“Ah…hey, Flint! Looks like we weren’t the only hungry ones.” He chuckles.
Route 1 Picnic, Jacques.
"I...should be fine either way. I mean, I've never gone camping before, but..."
The young trainer seemed to think on the idea some more, glancing down the path to Betata City and somewhat oblivious to his two Pokemon, with the Applein...somehow...managed to grab a sandwich, eyes glancing back and forth as Carmine contentedly munched on it, having very little care about anything else for the time being, even with the mention of potentially getting ready to go.
Aqua, on the other hand seemed somewhat impatient, alternating between bouncing on her tail and tapping her foot, not terribly impressed in having to wait.

The consensus seemed to be to let the wild Pokemon be, so Nick just snapped a couple more pictures of it, then turned to the others. "Let's get back on the road then, shall we?" he suggested, then offered as he moved to the makeshift table, "here, I'll help pack up."
As the photographer got started on helping grab up Flint's stuff, his two Pokemon went running back up to him. "Good job keeping us safe from that thing, guys," Nick told them, just a little sarcastic, reaching over and patting Torry's head, then Emmett's. "Oh, do either of you want to go in your pokeballs, or just stay out?" he then asked, getting their pokeballs from his belt.
Torry just stared at the pokeball and tilted his head. Emmett looked at the ball, then looked down at his front paws, lifting one up slightly and turning it to look at the pad for a moment. The Eevee then stepped up to Nick, placing a paw on the trainer's leg and making a little yip.
"Want to try not having to be on your feet all day? Alright, in you go; I'll let you out if we run into anything, or when we get to Betata," Nick said, then recalled Emmett into his pokeball. He put both of the pokeballs back, then continued to help pack up.
You are reading this.Jules lets out a low whistle upon entering the small, sleepy town. He wasn't exactly sure where he expected a Pokemon professor to live, but he didn't realize it would be in such a quaint place. Nothing wrong with that, it was quite nice.
It's been a while since he traveled anywhere, so the boat ride to the region was a bit stressful. As always, he kept himself calm by watching the Pokemon that passed by in the sea, sky, and soil. Beautiful as always.
The big wooden building was easily spotted... as was the long line. Jules simply shrugged and walked to the end of it, sitting down to watch the pretty birdies fly by. Flocks of little bird Pokemon flew, and Jules sighed, thinking of his upcoming Pokemon journey. With this journey, I will not only become stronger, but I can see all the Pokemon I want! Jules thought giddily, before stretching out.
"Morning." he nods toward the professor's aide before turning his attention back to the Pokemon.
...Now to wait for the line to dwindle.
Edited by Jules-Firenze on Apr 27th 2023 at 6:18:09 AM
You piss off the Venom T-Rex. Roll initiative.Soon the line began to dwindle, with it coming up to Jules and three other inviduals: a roughly 15-year old boy with spiky brown hair and a leather jacket, an older teenaged girl with aqua blue hair that came into points on each side, and a 10-year old girl with short green hair. The boy cleared his throat and the assistant with the clipboard looked up, then gestured Jules and the others to come up.
"Ah, another few new arrivals! Prof. Hawthorn is waiting inside," she greeted, leading Jules and a few other people into the laboratory, which opened up into a back room covered in machinery. The professor was working in the back with a machine, while his Lucario stood by him and watched. He glanced up and smiled at the four, standing and walking up to each one, shaking them by the hand.
"Wonderful to meet all of you. My name is Prof. Hawthorn. You must be..." He took a look at notes one of his aides had handed him. "Jules, David, Victoria, and Mandy." He smiled. "Welcome to Aleph Town. In order to determine your perfect partner, my Lucario is going to take a look at your aura. Lucario, if you please."
Lucario walked up to each prospective trainer individually, pointing a paw in their direction, which flickered with a blue flame-like energy. Its eyes glowed blue, and the appendages on the back of its head started to stand on end. David, the older boy, raised an eyebrow and looked uneasy, while the younger girl, Mandy, giggled. When Lucario had completed its assessment, it went up to a wall covered in Poke Balls, taking four from the slots, then walking down and handing each trainer a Poke Ball.
Prof. Hawthorn smiled and gestured to the floor with a grin.
"Go ahead and let them out, let's see your new partners," Prof. Hawthorn urged. Mandy was the first. She wasted no time in throwing her Poke Ball into the air excitedly.
"I choose you, Pokemon!" she cried out, and with a flash of light, a small green dinosaur-like Pokemon with wide eyes and a large leaf on its head emerged from its Poke Ball. It shook its head, then glanced up at the girl and cooed.
"Chii-ko!" the Chikorita chirped. Mandy's eyes widened and she rushed up to the Pokemon, hugging it. Victoria chuckled, then tossed her own Poke Ball forward. The Poke Ball opened with a flash of light, and at once, a large and bulky quadrupedal Pokemon emerged, roughly half Victoria's height. It seemed to be made of stone, with a sturdy, stocky body covered in rocky plates, and clawed feet. A ridge of spines ran down its back. On the front of its broad and bulky head, a pointed nose horn sat between its eyes.
The Rhyhorn grunted, closing its eyes and looking happy to see her. Victoria smiled and pet it on the back. David looked at his own Poke Ball, spinning its in his hand with a flourish, then tossed it into the air. The Poke Ball opened, and out emerged a reptilian-looking Pokemon. It was greenish-gray and black, with a streamlined head and a long tail. A prominent ridge along its back almost resembled the seat of a motorcycle. Underneath its neck, a black-ridged flap of skin hung down.
The Cyclizar threw its head back, letting out a roaring trill that almost sounded like the rev of an engine, running a quick circle around David before "parking" itself cheerfully at David's feet. David laughed, grinning at his new partner.
Prof. Hawthorn looked towards Jules expectantly.
"Go ahead, lad, you're up next," he told the boy.
I can still hail the Horde even though the company has shamed us. Strength and Honor even if Blizzard has neither."Thanks Professor." Jules smiles, admiring the other Pokemon, before holding out the Pokeball. "Come out!" Jules calls, pressing the button on the ball. A streak of light flashes from the Pokeball, solidifying onto the floor of the lab into a glob of wax about a foot tall, shaped like a candle. At the top was a purple wick, burning with an eerie purple flame. The eye that wasn't covered by a layer of wax burned yellow with... annoyance?
Jules gasps audibly, ands picks up the Litwick into his arms. "Hello! I've never seen a Pokemon quite like you, before! What are you? How does your flame work? Is your waxy body susceptible to heat?" Jules rattles off questions based on his Litwick's physiology. The Litwick was quite unamused, and Jules doesn't notice the purple flame grow brighter, and Jules becomes woozy. "Oh boy... Uh... You... steal life force?" he groans. From the blob of wax, the Litwick grows a stubby arm, and points to its open mouth, grumbling.
It took a minute for Jules' weakened mind to register what his new Pokemon wanted, but he took his bag and brought out a sandwich he bought for the trip but forgot to eat. He sits on the floor, dizzy, as the Litwick takes the sandwich and shoves it whole into her mouth. The flame briefly grows much brighter, before settling down. The Litwick grins, and sighs happily, before turning to Jules, as if she just realized she was draining the life force of her trainer. Jules simply looks amazed, despite his obvious fatigue, and holds out his hand. The Litwick looks unsure, but hops onto Jules' hand. Jules smiles brightly. "You're my Pokemon, eh? You're quite the powerful one!" he laughs, before muttering about how he could discourage unsavory people from approaching by siccing his Litwick on them, to her confusion.
I gotta name them, though. Jules thought. It only takes about a minute to think of a proper name. That one horror movie that he and his friends back home watched, with a ghost girl. "I'll name you Ako!" Jules lifts the Litwick up in the air, his new partner already growling for more food.
"Now, Professor, what do I need to know about Litwick?" Jules turns to the professor, eyes shining with determination despite Ako continuing to feed on his energy. "And, uh, what's their gender?"

"Huh?" Flint turned to see the mischievous pink pokemon run off after getting caught trying to steal food, then looked in the bag to see what had happened. There wasn't much food left after feeding such a large group, but it didn't seem like much if anything had been stolen so Flint couldn't be bothered to get too annoyed and just shrugged before starting to pack things up.
Packing didn't take long with help and after tossing a chunk of bread toward the bush where Impidimp had run and sticking the rest in the bag hanging on his shoulder Flint was ready to go.
"Okay, next stop Betata, and then picking up stuff for breakfast... And I gotta figure out what my new team likes to eat." He glanced over the group, mentally taking a headcount in case they ended up eating together again "Anyone else have any plans once we get there?"
The professor raised an eyebrow, then gasped.
"Oh, silly me, where is my mind today? I forgot to give each of you these," he told them, putting into each of their hands five empty Poke Balls, as well as a small red device roughly the size of a mobile phone. The device's screen lit up, showing a mischievous looking face, before floating out of their hands and chiming in with information about each of their partner Pokemon.
Mandy grinned and squeezed Chikorita excitedly.
"Leaf? I like the sound of it! Leif! Your name is Leif!" Mandy chimed in.
Victoria raised an eyebrow.
"Slow-witted? That's not nice. You're not slow-witted, are you, Rhyhorn?" she cooed, petting her new partner. The Rhyhorn grunted, letting out a breath, nuzzling Victoria. "I'll call you Rover," she said.
David looked excited.
"You can ride on its back? Sweet!" he cheered, immediately climbing onto Cyclizar's back. Cyclizar's tail curled up underneath its body and it trilled happily. "C'mon, Harley. Let's go! Uh, where are we going?" he asked.
Finally, the Pokedex chimed in about Ako. In addition to the information it spoke, its screen showed Jules information such as its gender, moves, and abilities.
After finishing their explanations, the Pokedexes floated back into their hands. The professor looked bemused at David, then looked towards the others.
"Anything you need to know about your Pokemon, your Pokedex will tell you. If you're wanting to get stronger and catch new Pokemon, I recommend taking on the Gym Challenge. The first gym is located in Betata City, north of here. You can get there through Route 1. You can train and catch new Pokemon there as well. Good luck on all of your journeys!" the professor explained. David grinned.
"Last one there's a Slowpoke!" David cheered, immediately dashing off on the back of Harley. Mandy picked up Chikorita and cuddled it while she walked, while Victoria started to leave, Rhyhorn walking beside her.
With the Impidimp sufficiently distracted by the food tossed into the bushes by the others, it didn't return to antagonize them further. George waved an arm, grinning.
"It's been nice seeing you, Hyde. But I'm gonna get going. See you guys in Betata City!" he exclaimed, starting to walk down the path. As the path went on, the forest seemed to become clearer and less trees obscured the sun overhead, which now seemed to be dipping below the horizon as the sky started to turn red. Pokemon cries became louder and more frequent at night, and rustles from the bushes became frequent as well.
Small shapes emerged from the trees, as black-winged avian Pokemon circled the group in the sky, cawing and beginning to perch staring down at the group.

"I've never had something like you before... How do you work?" he begins poking buttons on the phone, causing it to buzz. Ako chooses that moment to growl again, still hungry. Jules, starting to feel fatigue from Ako's draining, pats her on the side, giving her another sandwich to chomp down on ravenously. "Don't worry, Ako, I'll get you more things to eat." he whispers. "Maybe you can feed on some of the Wild Pokemon that attack us... I wonder if that's legal?" he mutters to himself, walking out of the town, ready to start his Pokemon journey with his hungry candle ghost baby.

Whether it was previous experience from other birds in the area first-hand, from observation or just instinct Carmine rolled behind it's trainer, using Jacques in a shield while Aqua didn't look terribly impressed in the slightest, smacking her tail into the trainer's leg while bounce-jumping until he got the hint to pick her up.
...Still, if it led to a fight, he wasn't sure how the tiny apple dragon would be able help if they stayed in the air. Aqua had Water Gun and Carmine had...nothing. Not unless he threw the poor apple at them.
...Non, non, non. Why would I even think of that?

Hope you weren't expecting anything witty here. Maybe some day.Hyde - Zullie the Misdreavus - Route 1
"Alright, see ya around George!" Hyde called, waving back as his new friend headed out. It sounded like Betata City wasn't much further. That suited Hyde just fine as night began to fall and a flock of familiar, feathered Pokemon began to take interest in the group of new trainers. "Putain~," he muttered quietly. "More dark-types."
"Hey, these Murkrow, they're a bad omen. Bad luck, meeting them at night, ya know?" Hyde said to the others. He knew not everyone took this stuff seriously but to him it added all the more impetus to get going. With a sinking feeling he remembered that Zullie was currently floating up high, unwittingly making herself an easier target.
"Zullie? Hey, could you please come down? I, uh... I-it's time to get going." Hyde stammered slightly. He began rummaging around his pockets for Zullie's ball, keeping one eye on the Murkrow just in case. He'd recall Zullie before he let her get hurt again, he thought.
At first it seemed like Zullie was going to be stubborn about coming back. Then, she noticed something, as would anyone looking in her direction. The red jewels around Zullie's neck were glowing, indicating that the Misdreavus was absorbing fear. She slowly floated down, concern replacing her earlier pout.
"S-sorry, Zullie," Hyde said, avoiding eye contact. The two of them at least knew what the glowing meant, and where the fear was coming from. The little ghost gave a sad little smile and gently nuzzled against Hyde, almost like a cat. Snapping out of his melancholy somewhat, Hyde's arm reflexively came up to support her, and she settled in, just like she had been when they'd rejoined the picnic.
"Thanks," he said with a relieved smile. For a moment, he forgot all about the ominous birds gathering nearby.

Rather than be worried, Nick just looked at the bird Pokemon with a curious awe. "I didn't pay much attention to the other stops before Aleph; anyone else know much about Betata?" he wondered aloud, while still looking at the Pokemon perching on the branches. The photographer then did what came naturally to him, and lifted his camera to snap a quick picture of some of them, with the flash on, since it was starting to get dark, and he wanted the pictures to be visible.

You are reading this.Route 1, Post Picnic comfort.
Adrian gently shakes his snoozing mons awake, “Come on everyone. Gotta get movin’”
“Evuuuuu..”
“Vuiiii…”
“Mrph.”
Adrian returns the still sleepy Shinx to her Pokeball, as she’s fought enough today. Her teammates doubtless knew these roads better.
The trainer looks around at the slowly gathering ‘krows.
“A whole mob. We should get a move on in case their Don or Dame shows up.”
Adrian turns to Flint, “You said you live here, yeah? Which ways the quickest way to town?”
A beat, “Oh yeah, what’s Betata like anyway?”
As Jules made his way north from Aleph Town, he found that the forest seemed to close in as they exited town. The foliage was becoming thicker and the grass was becoming taller. Parts of the route were overtaken by grass and trees. The wild Pokemon in the area were becoming more and more active, as evident by the rustling of grass and the cries of Pokemon in the distance.
Luckily for Jules, even as darkness began to fall, Ako's ghostly light was shining through the darkness. It seemed that Ako's light was also unnerving nearby wild Pokemon, since not much seemed to want to approach. From the encroaching darkness, Jules noticed he was catching up to two figures, walking in the same direction he was. One was an older teenager with dark hair and glasses, and the other was a long-haired boy in a purple shirt.
"I should really introduce myself," the older teenager said to Joachim. "My name is Hideki. I'm from Celadon City in Kanto," said the bespectacled teen. "Hey, are you guys seeing that light?" He turned around, noticing Jules approaching the two of them from behind. "Oh, hey, is that a... I've never seen that Pokemon before," he said, pulling out his Pokedex and scanning Ako. It spouted out information on Litwick as a species.
"So that's a Litwick, huh... I see. Interesting! My name's Hideki," he introduced to Jules. "You headed to Betata City too? I don't think we're going to make it before total nightfall, so we should probably set up camp."
The Murkrow fluttered down to lower branches, watching the trainers warily. They didn't make any sudden moves... until Nick flashed his camera at them. At once, the Murkrow cawed and took to the air, swirling around the group, a few of them screeching loudly with surprising fervor in the trainers' faces to Astonish while one of them swooping down to try and Peck at Nick.

I can still hail the Horde even though the company has shamed us. Strength and Honor even if Blizzard has neither.Hyde - Zullie the Misdreavus - Route 1
The unholy cacophony that exploded from the trees snapped Hyde right back out of his brief calm. The Murkrow were squawking, flapping and even starting to go on the attack. Hyde's tightening grip on Zullie proved insufficient to keep her out of things, as she quickly went incorporeal to phase through Hyde's arm.
Zullie turned to answer Hyde's questioning look with one of determination. The Misdreavus wore a confident smirk and nodded to her trainer as if to say 'We've got this'. Hyde nodded back, slowly at first but perking up as a fierce excitement began to replace the fear. He looked around, trying to make sense of the chaos. The first thing he noticed was the Murkrow pecking at Nick.
"Okay! Zullie!" Hyde called out, pointing at that Murkrow in particular. "Show that one your Spite!" Zullie focused on her target, muttering some barely perceptible, ghostly whispers. A dark purple aura surrounded Zullie, before wisping away to surround the Murkrow in an energy-sapping miasma.
Higher beings, these words are for you alone.Flint - Route 1 krow mob
With this big of a group Flint left his pokemon in their pokeballs while they walked down the trail looking unconcerned about the gathering group of birds, though he nodded at the comment that they might want to pick up the pace to get to town before dark. "Don't worry about them too much, unless one of you has a bunch of jewelry out they'll probably leave us alone as long as nobody antagonizes them". He turned to Adrian to tell him something when the flash set the mob off and ducked and shielded his head with an arm while they swarmed around "Gah- Guess that'll do it," he popped one of the balls off his belt and let Nabe out of her ball, looking confused for a moment and then barked in determination at the sight of so many aggressive pokemon "Nabe, uh, try a mudslap or something!"
Nabe does so, aiming for the closest group of birds she can spot with a clump of mud.
Jules, Route 1
"Man, I haven't even seen another Pokemon yet." Jules grumbled to himself as his feet crunched through the grass. Ako looks at him with an expression of curiosity, glowing with her eerie light, and wraps her stubby wax arms around her trainer's hand. Seeing this sudden display of affection made Jules chuckle, and he took out a couple of Oran berries that he picked a while back, giving them to Ako, who gladly accepted the offering. Even though she was trying to suck out more of his life force discreetly.
Jules peers into the distance, seeing two figures walking along the same path he was. One of them turns around, seeing Jules and Ako. Jules waves as the guy pulls out a Pokedex and scans his Litwick. Ako seems to be sizing up the two, whether they were worth eating or not.
One of the teenagers introduces himself as Hideki, and asks Jules whether he's going to Betata City as well, and suggests they set up camp.
"Actually, yes." Jules nods. "I just got Ako here, so I was probably a little late starting. Good to meet you guys." Jules smiles. Just smile, you might need their help someday. Jules thinks to himself. "Find a good place to set up camp yet?"

The realization and regret was rather immediate for the poor photographer, as Nick ducked and raised his arms above his head in an attempt to protect himself. "Ahh! I wasn't thinking! Sorry!" he cried out, though whether that was to the Pokemon he'd upset or to his traveling companions, who could say. "Wh-what do we do?! Should we run away?!"
Torry started barking in alarm, then made a jump and tried to land a bite attack on the Murkrow that was assaulting Nick.
You are reading this.A public transport bus, one of similar make and model to those used throughout the Tuloh region, pulls up to the designated stop in Aleph Town and unloads its passengers. Several of these passengers were visitors from other regions, some of whom were drawn here by Professor Hawthorn's commercial. Phillip was among this small fraction.
As he left the bus, Phillip said a quick "Thank you" to the driver, to be polite. He ended up the last one off the bus, owing to his having to carefully manoeuvre his rucksack so he didn't bump into anyone.
Phillip took a careful look around him. The surrounding woods, log cabins, dirt roads, and overall rustic atmosphere were far different than what he was used to back home. It would take some time for him to get used to this.
Following the other hopefuls who came to Aleph Town, Phillip eventually found the crowd of youths gathered just outside a building with conspicuously large windows, identified by a nearby sign as 'Professor Hawthorn's Laboratory'. He found a spot at the back of the crowd, and waited patiently.
Route 1. A Murder of (Mur)krows.
Well...that made resuming the trip somewhat difficult. At the very least, Jacques had already been startled by a certain trouble-making apple-dragon once today that he wasn't terribly shaken by a Murkrow trying to scare him with Astonish again.
And much like before, Aqua flat-out didn't care, almost giving a smug and haughty 'Zuuu~'.
"A...Alright, they're getting too close. Aqua, um, partez s'il vous plait. I-I mean, make them go away...Water Gun if they try to get any closer..."
Although both the comment to try and get out of there and Carmine refusing to budge from using it's trainer as a shield as best as it could did give the trainer an idea.
"...i-if they're here f-for food...would they fight over it if we used it as a distraction..." Jack idly remarked, grabbing one of the many, MANY Lumiose Galettes from his pack.

“We need any opening to get outta here! Uuuuh.”
He takes a moment to rack his brain, the flash of the camera overtakes his thoughts.
“Shiny objects! Does anyone have something shiny?!”

As Hyde went to calm down his Seviper, George joined the others in eating their sandwiches. They sat for a good while, simply enjoying the good food and friendly company.
"Well, this was a nice little meal, thanks to all you guys," George told them. "I'd ask for a battle but I think my Pokemon are tired. Betata should hopefully be coming up soon, I'm gonna be making my way there. A bunch of people have probably already gotten there. I don't wanna be stuck out here after dark." He got up, recalling Crusher and Pointer, before putting the two Poke Balls at his hip and stretching. "It was nice seeing you guys," he told them, about to head out, when he noticed something out of the ordinary.
"Hey, is that one of yours?" he asked, noticing a pink Pokemon crouching by the picnic basket. It had a wide head, large ears, bug-eyes, two little fangs, a pointed nose, a black face mask, and a spindly little body; and it was surreptitiously reaching into the picnic basket to grab some food.
Once noticed, the Pokemon let out a yip, sticking its black tongue out at the group before trying to make a break for it towards the bushes.
A few cracking twigs and shuffling foliage noises alerted Joachim to movement closer to the path. An older teenager, thin with dark hair and glasses, had stepped out to get a better look at the young trainer.
"Nice capture," he said. "I caught the end of that battle. You froze that Deerling. Don't worry, it'll thaw out soon," he said. "Betata City should be just up ahead. I bet your Pokemon's pretty tired after that fight. C'mon," he responded, gesturing to follow.
