Paging ~MacronNotes to the thread.
You can't always get what you want.I prefer disambiguating—captures as many uses as possible.
TRS Queue | Works That Require Cleanup of Complaining | Troper WallDisambig
Oh, right, I forgot to vote. I'm in favor of disambiguating.
You can't always get what you want.Would prefer redirect, but example-wise disambig is better.
TroperWall / WikiMagic CleanupThanks for making the thread.
I think disambiguating all three is better as they all attract examples that are covered by other tropes.
Macron's notesDisambiguate them all.
she/her | TRS needs your help! | Contributor of Trope ReportYou don't know me, but my name's Sai, and I'm the favor of disambig guy.

Disambig
By the way, regarding Instant Chucks, the description should mention that it has nothing to do with characters magically summoning a pair of Converse All-Stars sneakers (commonly referred to as Chucks) on their feet.
Kirby is awesome. The description of Sai Guy does sound more tropeworthy than the others (in that sais are portrayed as bladed weapons in fiction) but the examples don't really reflect that.
for the disambig.
for disambig then. Going to miss this old submission of mine.
With a "0", not an "O".Hm. Although these are Stock Ninja Weaponry and I like the idea of redirecting, I assume there are plenty of uses that are suitable for another trope or no trope, and a disambig would better catch those.
disambig
The fact that redirecting wouldn't cover Weapon Specialization or Weapon-Based Characterization examples is a factor in why I prefer disambiguating over redirecting.
You can't always get what you want.Let's go ahead and disambiguate. I'll do the honors, but I don't feel like removing non-index wicks at the moment.
You can't always get what you want. While this thread covers three pages, all of them have under 500 wicks, and the fact that they're Chairs means cleanup would probably be more time-consuming than difficult, so here they are in order from least to most:
- Sai Guy (166 wicks)
- Dual Tonfas (241 wicks)
- Fighting with Chucks (445 wicks, including the two redirects)

You can't always get what you want.Sai Guy is pretty much cleared out and I've also made a dent on Fighting With Chucks and Dual Tonfas (plus Weapon Of Choice).
I archived the wick checks in the header and cut the sandboxes.
You can't always get what you want.Double posting because I took care of the remaining wicks for Dual Tonfas, though I think someone else got most of them by the time I finished, so I can't take credit for much of that project (and Sai Guy was already taken care of). Just Fighting With Chucks is left, and the redirects might need to stay to preserve inbounds (plus to help people search for the page).
You can't always get what you want.Fighting With Chucks is done except for a few sandboxes.
Good work! I'll lock this as resolved
Macron's notes
To-do list:
Dual Tonfas, Fighting With Chucks, and Sai Guy are weapons tropes about characters who wield sais, chucks, and tonfas. There doesn't appear to anything else to these "tropes". I didn't find many examples with context beyond "sais/tonfas/nunchucks as a weapon" on Sandbox.Sai Guy Wick Check, Sandbox.Fighting With Chucks Wick Check, Sandbox.Dual Tonfas Wick Check that wasn't covered by existing tropes.
I have two proposals on what do with these tropes:
Sai Guy wick check:
Wick Check for Sai Guy.50/50
Dual Tonfas wick check:
50/50Hitsugi: "Unfortunately, unlike the graduation event, we are not providing non-bladed weapons as options. It would destroy your identity as Sword Scholarship bearers, after all."
[laughter from surrounding audience members]
Hitsugi: "So, that means you can use tonfas."
Kiji: "Sh-She just destroyed the gestalt of recognition to what is considered weaponry established earlier!!!"
Fighting With Chucks wick check:
