I think we're still two weeks before that becomes a genuine issue (I'm assuming if we go one week for discussion. 3 days for the first crownber and maybe another 3 for a crowner on specific decisions like Time limits ).
So a decision can wait.

"That's right mortal. By channeling my divine rage into power, I have forged a new instrument in which to destroy you."I've seen the Three-Day Rule referenced multiple times, but did anyone actually link to the page about it before I did in this post?
I got a rock for Halloween.Downvotes needing an explanation: Not a fan of this. Why do people need to justify their vote at all? Sometimes a candidate gets almost unanimously rejected. It doesn’t happen often but there were a few such cases. I’m using Mills from Fallen Kingdom as example again. If people have to explain why they downvoted him, we would see a bunch of post that are basically saying the same thing: Selling dinosaurs at a black-market auction isn’t bad enough and he doesn’t hurt/kills enough humans to stand out.
But I’m not fighting against it, If people want to make this a rule be my guest.
Three-Day Rule: Don’t have an issue with this one. I also think it’s perfectly fine not talk about a candidate for three days if there isn’t much to talk about. If it’s a straightforward candidate most people can vote and move on. But even in such a case the three-day rule is still useful because not everyone visits the page every day. So, it gives people more time to vote which I think is a good thing.
I think at least downvotes requiring explanations is a decent compromise because that's something that happens more often than not anyway, and it's generally respectful that if you're going to disagree with the proposal, you should at least say why. It might get redundant later down the line of votes, but at least it makes people say why they're rejecting someone's proposal instead of just mass-downvoting and walking away

I’m not sure exactly what has happened to these two threads, but I’d like to say that if I was part of the problem, I apologize.
Skyward bound and adrift in timeThat is something I actually just considered - if a newbie posts something and it gets downvoted, everyone explaining over and over again why they're downvoting with each new person who downvotes would very quickly degenerate into a dogpile. We already have issues with people feeling bad just because people keep downvoting after a certain number, much less without a repeated explanation. I also think that the first downvote having a mandatory explanation, but after that it's just up to someone's discretion, is a good idea - as was said before, it's an "unwritten" rule anyway, but I do think it should be officially codified.

I agree about the first downvote being that there must be an explanation on why they chose to downvote that candidate

This might have been discussed before and I missed it but what do we do with the characters both threads were in the middle of discussing. Do we restart the discussion under the new system during this trial run?
