Spun off the main odd confessions thread; this thread is for odd confessions related to TV Tropes itself.
Excessive complaining isn't allowed anywhere on the site. Keep it out of this thread.
I felt guilty about having to remove some of the real life examples on Mandela Effect. I would not have removed them if they didn't violate site policy. I enjoyed reading those examples, and I'm sure the people who wrote them are not happy about them being removed.

After all of these years, I still don't remember how to type out image and caption markup by heart. I just copy the markup from existing pages.

Macron's notesWhen I first took interest in the Pantheon and then quickly found difficulty with nominating a trope for a profile(I was going through the houses one by one looking to see if a trope was taken instead of using the Related tab), I thought of just waiting for a YKTTW to launch so I can immediately jump it and use it to make a profile. Still think of doing it occasionally, but now that I know better on how to see if a trope is taken, I most likely won't do it.
Checking in on this account after leaving the site, MAN that is a cringy forum post history. Daaamn. Never again.Same here. I usually copy the image markup from the dialog box that appears after you upload an image, but if I forget to do that or if something goes wrong (whether it's closing the dialog box by accident or accidentally overwriting the clipboard's contents with something other than the image markup), I have to get the markup from somewhere else.

I got a rock for Halloween. That's why I refuse to use the forum image uploader.
Working on: Author Appeal | Sandbox | Troper WallGuess I have pretty good memory by memorizing all markups (kinda given since how many mandatory rules there are in general).
TroperWall / WikiMagic CleanupI admit that I wasn't in the best mood when I stopped a derail in the meta thread with this post
, since I had side effects from the COVID booster I got on Friday over the course of the weekend and physical health problems sometimes affect my mood, though I currently feel better than I had been feeling. I feel that it ended up being sterner than most mod warnings I give (especially since I don't usually thump with derails of that thread, and mainly did so because most of the page was off-topic), and I wonder if the fact that I began it with "Look..." instead of my usual "Folks..." added to the sternness (the latter is what I usually say because I try to word mod posts as politely as I can).

I got a rock for Halloween.
-comfortingly hugs- It’s all right, I know what that’s like. I remember getting a very bad headache when I got my very first COVID vaccine shot. x_x Fortunately, it wasn’t anything some pain medicine and a nice dinner couldn’t fix.
Probably could have been more specific in the post, as I recall correctly the conversation got into a troper discussing own general behavior off-site, which I agree was off-topic even there. Don't think the tone had any issues.
I've wanted to comment something regarding health, but I haven't found specific posts I had in mind to refer to.
TroperWall / WikiMagic Cleanup
Yeah, I could have been more clear about the fact that the issue was that the thread was being used for conversations that were more general than what the thread is for, which closer to the purpose of the Hangout Thread and not the meta thread. I suppose that's another confession.

I got a rock for Halloween.Aren't mod posts supposed to be stern? They're supposed to tell people to stop doing things after all.
(I feel you by the way. My last COVID booster shot felt like shit when I got it. I still have to get my next one—have been busy so I haven't gotten much of a chance.)
Works That Require Cleanup of Complaining | Troper Wall
Well, I try not to be too stern when doing it.
Anyway, for another confession, albeit one related to TRS cleanup I did a bit ago instead of mod work, since there's a bug that causes ghost wicks to appear on pages that have no wicks on them, and the only way to get rid of them (as far as I know) is to add a placeholder wick in one edit and then make a second edit to remove the placeholder wick, I generally add a wick to Bibble Bobble in these cases because I feel that adding a wick to a trope page would just be moving the ghost wick issue to a page that itself may end up requiring wick cleanup later on (not necessarily due to TRS; it could be for a cleanup thread instead).
I got a rock for Halloween.
I could probably start doing that instead, actually, since I'm pretty sure it's a matter of a wick being there instead of whether the wick is something that shows up on Related pages (though I'll have to test this another time because I forgot which page this was since I was going through multiple pages). Or maybe pothole to Tropers.Hastily Made Sock Puppet or Tropers.System instead of my own page.

I got a rock for Halloween.I don't know if adding troper handles to wickless pages updates the related to list as Tropers/ is excluded from Related To listings.
I just add a random trope to the page and then I remove it. Also, adding a wick to a page with no wicks is what removes the ghost wick, not going back to delete the wick afterwards. So, if the wick actually fits on the page, you can just leave it.
Macron's notesI just tested it with Law School Admission Test, and it worked.
I know it's the adding the wick that fixes it, but I couldn't think of anything useful to pothole.

Considering the specific page was Tropers.system, which I recently made as a joke page, the position of the pothole conjures up the amusing image of the TV Tropes mod team collectively urging law students to do exactly what they're told, regardless of whether any of us are lawyers and/or law school teachers (I'm certainly not one of either).

I got a rock for Halloween.Double posting because I have an actual confession this time instead of a response.
I've mentioned this elsewhere (even if this thread would be more suitable than other places I've mentioned it), but my decision to become the Herald of the Content Violation Discussions forum was kind of out of impulse on my part. I had a good reason for changing who Herald of that forum is regardless of who I picked, since the previous Herald mentioned wanting to resign from that position around when the two Projects forums and Wiki Talk got new Heralds, which I think was in 2019, and I felt that putting myself in that position would be the quickest way to solve the problem of the previous Herald being left hanging for a few years with the resignation request. I could have waited to see if someone else was willing, and Macron even said she was willing to be the Herald and is willing to replace me if I want to quit being the Herald myself, but the current situation happened instead.
Edit: On the off chance that I've already posted it in this thread, then I forgot partially because I've mentioned it elsewhere, and partially becaue I'm currently tired.

I got a rock for Halloween.Sometimes people disappear from the wiki after I send them a notifier, and I always wonder if it's the notifier's fault.
Working on: Author Appeal | Sandbox | Troper WallI never crosswick Apocalypse How because the hardsplit softsplit makes my head hurt.
I'm not sure if it's possible to un-soft-split this without TRS. I think the trope should only have classes from 2 to X-1.
TroperWall / WikiMagic CleanupI sometimes feel like the Rooting for the Empire page has entries that come off as... a bit Leather pantsy.
"Give our Captain back, you jerks!"

Plus, spell checker wonkiness leads to trouble sometimes, like changing commonwealth spellings and stuff.
