Regarding non-sexy female gamma characters, there might be a decent chance we get Ogress in this show, so who know?

Aberration could be a good choice too.

A trailer has been realised on Disney + which had much better CGI on the face. It is all about the illusion of a CGI character which I found was broken with the flatness of the face; everything else was excellent. I cannot access the site for some reason but the Direct has the comparison photos-https://thedirect.com/article/she-hulk-cgi-improve-disney-trailer-photos

[up][up]Mess, if we get the Gamma Corps? Also, she may not be a gamma mutate, but there is Caiera if they can figure out a way to implement her.

Caeira isn't a villain though and she's from Sakaar.

I do hope that going forward they do what they did with Matt Murdock and just have She-Hulk occasionally just show up as an attorney in an otherwise unrelated movie/show. If she's still officially in the superhero law business at the end of the series she even has the perfect justification for doing so.

Bonus points if at no point does anyone draw attention to the fact that the random attorney is clearly a green 7 foot tall superstrong gamma mutant.

Not feeling this trailer, given the amount of sexist jokes in it. Compared to some of the recent series' we've gotten, this one looks like it might be taking a step backwards.

I hope it's just a crap trailer. While it's more common to see a good trailer for a crap show, the reverse does sometimes happen, too.

Looks like we got Griffen Matthews joining the series.

As a fan of the first season of The Flight Attendant, this pleases me greatly. Though it reminds me that I have to watch Season 2 of that show.

An article has been released on Empire featuring She-Hulk. https://www.empireonline.com/tv/news/she-hulk-antithesis-superhero-narratives-tatiana-maslany-exclusive/

Tatiana Maslany talks about how her character is the antithesis of most superhero narratives as in she doesn't want to be a superhero, it is not really a new conecpet, but sometimes it not the concept but how it executed and told.

I mean you have powers, that dosen't mean you suddenly have a need to fight a shadowy organiaztion or rob a bank.

To be devil's advocate superhero stories weren't popularized because the lead characters weren't involved in crime fighting, and the effort to post modern the phuck out of things and take the piss out of the superhero genre is baffling.

And usually sone better in parodies like The Tick than in a show that is outright adapting superhero fare.

It was one thing when Hugh Jackman made fun of yellow spandex. Its now another thing when the last 6 superhero things in the public eye have tried ti message about how awful/dumb the concept of superheroes is.

And I could be wrong but I thought comics!Jen loved being She Hulk. I didn't know I Just Want to Be Normal was one of her storylines.

The thing about She-Hulk is that she is at her best writing-wise when she's a lawyer who represents superheroes.

Being a superhero is a sidegig for her and often by accident

"And I could be wrong but I thought comics!Jen loved being She Hulk. I didn't know I Just Want to Be Normal was one of her storylines."

That was in her first comic series when she was more similar to the hulk.

Tatiana Maslany said that "There’s this great element of denial in her that’s relatable. For me, it was about rejecting what’s happened for as long as I could, as that’s what causes the fun tension between Jennifer and She-Hulk." This is something I really want to see over the course of the 9 episodes, just this slow change. This also sort of ties into with something that the Virty magazine Tatiana mentioned that she has no combat training yet can send a person flying with a finger flick, so there that power yet without the desire to use it.

I am just really excited for all this from the character to just the premise.

Edit: Yet I admit that I am just not too sure on the fourth wall-breaking concept but I will decide when it comes.

I can't believe I'm saying this, but I'm kind of excited to see the more self-confident and jokey Bruce. As not-Hulk like as he is, I thought his Dissonant Serenity and airhorn wake-up were really funny. Plus, the fact that some of the silliness of Thor: Ragnarok may have rubbed off on him is kinda cool.

That said, I do hope that we get to see him, y'know, actually fight. That's the one thing that annoyed me in Endgame.

As for Jennifer herself, I have no expectations. I just want a fun character to get invested in, and so far that looks like what we're getting. Bring it on!

So she's a Mirror Character to Daredevil?

Very often.

To summarize She-Hulk in a paragraph or two, the premise is Jennifer Walters is a somewhat mousy, shy, and nervous person (though Depending on the Writer) who discovers self-confidence and her Big Fun personality that is let out by her transformation into an Amazonian Beauty. She also no longer has to be afraid all the time because superpowers makes her feel no longer nervous about the world. She also is a Lovable Sex Manaic, though to a PG to PG-13 level given the medium.

While she's an Avenger and Fantastic Four member, mostly she keeps her day job of representing superheroes and supervillains (generally the Spider-Man and street level ones) while helping codify superhuman law. Unlike Daredevil, she primarily represents costumed people and it helps give her a quirky identity separate from another hero as well as her cousin.

So, from this perception of the character (I was a big fan of She-Hulk's series until the "Jennifer Smash" era), I think the trailers indicate they're going with the John Byrne era that is usually the "definitive" Jenn.

And because they're both defense attorneys, it's rare for them to have an opportunity to litigate against each other. Either one of them would need to become a prosecutor, or they would have to be litigating a civil suit instead of a criminal trial.

But yes, Jen's wholehearted embrace of her She-Hulk form is a big draw for the character. She goes to court in full Hulk Mode.

That was a civil case-Matt and Jen were on opposite sides because Cap wanted them to be, as the whole case was a frame job.

But for most the time Jen was a prosecutor more than anything else, working as an an ADA for a long while in the comics (Matt, too but not for nearly as long, out of universe it was like two years, which I think is like a few months in comic book time) and it was generally her default position.

Jen's also had a solo PLLC, briefly, but in the last two decades, she's been more likely to be in Goodman, Lieber, Kurtzberg & Holliway, which is a much bigger, more glamorous firm than Nelson & Murdock with Jen dealing specifically with superhero law. That has generally been her modern depiction, so she can work with a number of different kinds of cases.

Matt is basically Perry Mason, and Jen is one part Casey Novak, one part Ally Mc Beal.

Given what we know about the show, I'd expect more Ally Mc Beal than anything else.

Steve wanted Matt Murdock to be the prosecutor on that suit, even when Matt protested and offered to bury the case, because he wanted the whole trial to go through fair and square and Murdock had just enough cynicism in him to actually suspect Cap and give it his all.

Then Steve chose Jen for his defense because “well, I didn’t want to lose.” [lol]
