Moon Knight’s CGI was mixed. Taweret looked wonderful but the underworld backgrounds looked very… background.
For this show, fixing CGI on She-Hulk will only slightly fix the Sexy Dimorphism critique wrt her and Hulk IMO.
Hey, Taika Watiti TRIED to make Hulk sexy. Gave him a hot tub scene and everything!
I'm a little late to this convo regarding Buff She-Hulk, but while I myself prefer slimmer bodies as a whole, I've also been a wrestling fan for years, and as such have been seeing buff women (sometimes without even realizing it) for a long ass time.
And while I've always liked characters who are stronger than they look, I also know that a wider variety of body types is a good thing. I tend to look for that balance between my own preferences and displaying the powerful body a female character with Super-Strength should have. There's probably a pretty good middle ground between Super Model and Bodybuilder.
That being said, if the character was initially shown to pretty buff, that's how they should look I'd say. Stick to what makes sense.
One Strip! One Strip!I guess peaple opion on CGI are about expations, i knew the duat was computer but it was fluid and not stiff so it just fellowed which didn't make it wonky. For me it just the head not looking attached, body and head spearated great, together, depends on the scene. It just the charcter conflicting it desigin. Take the inscet-Xindi you could see they were CGI but the desigin was fluid and detailed so was good to look at.
Sexy Dimorphism has always been part of the hulk dynamic.
Sincerely S Awatching.I definitely don't need her to be as buff as the Hulk since she's just... never been that way except for in the Jason Aaron run, but it would be nice for her to have some buffness. At least as buff as Natalie Portman got for Thor 4. Though honestly I didn't mind until I saw that tweet saying She-Hulk was originally made bigger by the VFX team. I mourn what could have been.
Honestly the CGI does just look bad though. At the least they should fix that.
Trust you? The only person I can trust is myself.Reading that writeup on Frog-Man was actually pretty neat. Also reminded me that the White Rabbit exists. I wouldn't mind seeing her in the MCU someday.
Trust no one. When they said she was originally bigger, did they just mean more muscles on her limbs, or all around larger?
'Cause since She-Hulk's gonna be spending a lot of time in ordinary people surroundings, it is probably a good idea to avoid "hard time fitting through doors" size.
"It takes an idiot to do cool things, that's why it's cool" - Haruhara HarukoThough there have been some female Gamma mutates that were allowed to look monstrous.
And like i said, Banner was off the table because of Immortal Hulk anyway, so he wouldn't have been able to pick him regardless.
On the other hand, it didn't look bad. Not distractingly so at least.

"They truly were a Aqua Teen Hunger Force"Re: Sexy Dimorphism: Jen has always been "sexier" than Bruce but in this case it seems particularly egregious since she's not buff as she normally is in the comics. Like they look even more like that meme◊ for no good reason (bad reasons: societal preference for slim women and bad CGI)

I got a bit wound up about this so I decided to look through the cover art for all her runs, and she is almost always depicted with a toned body builder or wrestler physique much more prominantly muscular than in the current trailer.
The funny thing is though that I decided to revisit that leaked image of her on a thermos and it looks that that was from her previous more muscular design that executive's told the artists to scrap.
I've been excited for the prospect of a She Hulk adaptation for a long time because she's a body positive character who flies in the face of a lot of popular critisim against muscular women, and is a rare example of a strong female character who gets to look strong. It's a rare power fantasy for women where we get to be both visually threatening and fun loving.
But executives at the last moment have decided to scrap the primary appeal of the character for me in what is a clearly sexist opinion that visably muscular women (like me) are not fit for the screen.
There is actually quite a bit of muscle on She-hulk here if you look closer, yet more in the vein of a toned athlete than a bodybuilder, I will admit. Not intimidating, she is super strong, 6'7 (note the average size of a man is between 5'7 to 5'9) so I am sure she can be intimidating.
I do agree that it is upsetting that they de-buffed her, but the end result is not a stick figure dipped in green paint.
Sincerely S Awatching. The fact we're getting 9 episodes does a lot to diffuse common complaints over the shows being too short.
Hopefully we get some boots in the ground stuff, this case She-Hulk actually lawyering and episodic stories so its not just one overtly serialized narrative.
Like I liked Moon Knight but that show had a lot of problems due to its short length and being way too serialized so it lacked any of the boots to the ground superheroing Moon Knight is more well known for.
"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."I did a little math and actually, the She-hulk 9 episodes add up to the same run minutes as the typical Marvel shows: 270 minutes. I will admit however the sum was using 45 minutes as the standard run time.
Sincerely S Awatching.9 episodes feels like it's at risk of being too long. Normally I say 8 episodes is the sweet spot for serialised works.
Regarding non-sexy female gamma characters, there might be a decent chance we get Ogress in this show, so who know?
That said, Ogress’ thing is being outright ugly, and she reeks of tropes that are a lot less acceptable now than they were when she was first conceived.
"The difference between reality and fiction is that fiction has to make sense." - Tom Clancy, paraphrasing Mark Twain. The last person in recent memory who was actually changing those sexist opinions was Gina Carano. And then it turned out she was a pretty shitty person, which got to the point where she was fired from The Mandalorian.
Trust no one.Id agree that she should have more of a muscular build. At least when transformed. Biggest thing you can do is make your opinion known. Maybe they'll do the Jennifer trains to buff up She-Hulk thing in response.
Mega Man fanatic extraordinaireShe-Hulk should look like D-X era Chyna, just green and 8 feet tall.
I'm hoping more episodes means the show will be slightly more episodic. She is a lawyer after all, pretty easy to do one-and-done plots there.
Chyna wanted to portray She Hulk so bad, I can't help but think of her.
I thought this is insightful given the criticism of CGI (warning you will have to sit throw an overly long snack commerical) - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=drB_FXjPfX4
Sincerely S Awatching.Thanks!
Sincerely S Awatching. That's the thing though. I think people think she was stopped from looking like The Hulk or that she doesn't look buff in the trailer.
Akira Toriyama (April 5 1955 - March 1, 2024).
Watching over the trailer and photos I notice that CGI quality jumped around. (On a whole it levels above CW tv VFX and CGI). When just interacting with other CGI things, she looks good; when she in a more real enviroment bit wonky, well no Graphics are that good, how would the hulk look if he was the only CGI being in Battle of New York.I have heard that scens from the Moon knight were not good which I am suprised because I fond them to be good. Throw out the trailer I found them to be fluid. The thing that looks off to me is the head, it just seems plastered to the body again a few scenes looks quite good, if they can fix that, Golden.
When it comes to concistany of She-hulk muscle, that an argument that will last years. What we have is still a seven foot jade Amazon, so cool.
Now that some bring up Luisa I can't help but conect these two lines a little "No,that for Billanore, narcissists and adult orphans" -" Was Hercules ever like, Yo, I don't wanna fight Cerberus?"
Sincerely S Awatching.
