Real nice place... (Elisa remarks dryly.)
N-N-No i-i-it's n-not... (Jacoby says, the sarcasm flying over his head. His knees are knocking together.) D-Do we r-r-really h-have to g-go in th-there...?
Well, if we wanna help monsters and humans get along better... (Elisa says.) Keep your chin up, Jackie, I'm not gonna let anything happen to ya. I'm sure your new pals aren't going to either.
"Hey, least I didn't lose all my artistic talent when I crash landed in the arena here."After a moment, something flew above the group, approaching the swamp.
The group would notice a flying lizard with draconic wings. Oddly enough, this one looked more like he was stuck in the Middle Ages, with a simple iron helmet and loincloth. More strikingly, he was armed with a sword and a shield... and had a clean human skull attached to his necklace. A real one, visibly.
Whoever this was, it was clear this monster was no stranger to fight either. He didn't seem at all bothered by the putrid smell, far from it. He didn't even notice the group nearby. At least not yet. He was too busy hunting right now.
He landed on a tree branch and surveyed the area, trying to get past the fog. Noticing a bit of web stuck on him, he growled in annoyance and used his sharp sword to get rid of it. He stood there for a moment but found nothing.
Then, his stomach growled.
"Hissss!! Fine, I guess I'll do it the old way." Kevan grunted to himself, bits of fire steaming from his mouth in impatience.
The confident warrior took a very deep breath and waved his wings as he let out a piercing screech, loud enough for the group to hear.
But also the flesh-eating spiders lurking nearby.
AND I'VE STILL BLOCKED OFF MY BALL!! FUCK!!Rosamund whips around at the sudden noise, trails of blue light crackling to life in the pads of her hands.
"Kæru guðir - since when could spiders make noises such as this?!"
Hail majestic corporate light, heaven born and ever bright!"It came from the trees over there. Something landed there." Eleanor squints. "It's difficult to see through these pesky cobwebs. But I don't think that is a spider."
Very good kittyKevan then spotted some movement in the fog, as well as a faint blue light. The lizard grinned.
Screeching, the warrior took flight, pointing his sword in front of him, and dove toward his target, intending to drive the weapon into its face.
He stopped at the last moment. when instead of a spider's face, his sword just got... just in front of Melvin's muzzle, just before he actually attack him. His delighted look got replaced with a shocked one.
That obviously wasn't a spider.
Immediately, Kevan backed down and got into a fighting stance, facing the group. The human skull he had on his necklace was shining brightly.
"What the... By the great dragon, what are you clowns doing here of all places?? Who are you?? I demand an answer!!" the warrior exclaimed, pointing his sword at them and waving his wings. He started to carefully move around, fiercely studying them and using his shield to cover his torso.
He was already aware of some of the creatures standing before him. Skeletons, gargoyles, and so on. But there were some he never saw before, like Eleanore and Melvin being man-made, or Malti being an alien. What were they...?
Then, he saw Senki. His eyes widened at her sight.
"A human?" he muttered. That one looked odd, and she had a hole in her chest, but there weren't any mistakes.
He thought he immediately understood the situation.
"You wretched human witch! I don't know how you brainwashed these monsters into working for you, but I'm going to put your ugly head on a pike!! You're going to end like that monster hunter right here!!" Kevan roared at Senki, pointing at the skull on his necklace. He then prepared to breathe fire at her.
Visibly, Kevan didn't know a thing about ghosts.

AND I'VE STILL BLOCKED OFF MY BALL!! FUCK!!When Kevan lands, Rosamund's first instinct is to lunge forwards, the momentum throwing her hood back to put her lupine features on full display. She stops herself mid-charge once it becomes clear the draconic newcomer is more confused than anything, but remains poised to take action - especially once he starts being rude to her travelling companions.
Then he goes for Senki.
With a raw half-shout, half-bark of "NEI!", Rosamund thrusts her arms forwards as the light in her palms grows and coalesces rapidly into a wall of solid glare. The barrier slams into place between Kevan and Senki, intended to block his fire breath and any other attacks he might try and visit upon the innocent ghost girl.
Hail majestic corporate light, heaven born and ever bright!"Please calm down!" Melvin says to Kevan. "We mean no harm. We're just a group of travellers trying to reach the Tower of Trials."
"Was it smart to disclose that information to someone who is currently trying to harm one of us?" Eleanor hisses, slightly peeved.
"Well, I don't see you doing anything."
Very good kittyKevan watched with surprise as a wall of solid glare appeared between him and Senki, his fireball harmlessly colliding into it. The lizard warrior lunged at the wall and tried to break it by charging at it, or swinging his sword at it, with the same result. He looked at Rosamund, with shock.
Kevan looked back and forth at her, then at the wall. His shocked expression got slowly replaced by a deadpan one.
"...Really? Keh! You may be impressive, but... watch." he said to her.
Kevan sighed, then took flight. That's really all he needed to do to just fly high above the wall and land behind Rosamund as if nothing happened in the first place.
"Oh no! I somehow bypassed your magic wall! But I am no magician! How did I do that?" he sarcastically gloated, flapping his wings.
Kevan sighed, then smiled sadistically as he glanced back at Senki.
"Enough games. Now step aside, all of you! I'll do you a favor and plunge that sword into her wretched heart..." he said, preparing to charge at her.
But only then, did he see that the girl already had a huge hole in her chest. Kevan froze.
Hold on... What is that? Wait no! Nonsense!! This must be a trick... It must be there where her wretched magic comes from! he thought.
Then, Elisa, Melvin, and Eleanore spoke. Kevan looked at them with an angry, yet confused look.
Come to think of it, they didn't look that brainwashed, at least compared to actual brainwashed monsters he met in the past. Were they really mind-tricked by her?
"Crystal bats? The Tower of Trial?" he muttered.
Kevan visibly relaxed a bit, though his sword was still pointed at Senki, the draconic lizard not trusting her one bit.
"By tower, I guess you mean the one in the middle of the swamp? I know the place... I flew above that strange fortress several times by now. Never bothered visiting it yet, the wild spiders around it are already rather satisfying to take on. There must probably be some kind of treasure, there. Perhaps that... Crystal bat of yours." Kevan said to Eleanore and Melvin. He then looked at the rest of the group with contempt before sighing.
"I am Kevan. A warrior from the southern volcanoes. Wanderer. And at my lost time... Human hunter. You better have a good reason for me to not slay the ugly one with you. Why do you even have a human with you? We can't allow them near us! And why are you seeking those "Crystal bats"?"
AND I'VE STILL BLOCKED OFF MY BALL!! FUCK!!We're...the king wants humans and monsters to be able to co-exist together, and the bats are supposed to be the key to doing that. (Jacoby says nervously. He's not sure how Kevan is going to react to this given his clear dislike of humans.)
Yeah, and they can find them easier because of the crystal dust in their bodies...or something like that. (Elisa adds.)

"Hey, least I didn't lose all my artistic talent when I crash landed in the arena here."Seeing how tense the situation was getting through a misunderstanding Tami tried to calm things down by giving the human hunter the cutest eyes his little cat body could muster.
"Hey, you can do that too, right?" Melvin says to Eleanor.
Eleanor sighs. "I suppose." Eleanor also widens her pupils...
...However, since she has Black Eyes of Crazy, it's decidedly less cute.
Very good kittyKevan just stared at Tami and Eleanor, cringing at their Puppy-Dog Eyes (or attempted ones, in Eleanor's case).
"...Stop that. You're both making me uncomfortable. I mean, I could stop this myself and pull your eyes out but I'm not like the spiders around here. I'll probably have to be very angry for that." Kevan said.
Then Senki finally told Kevan what she was. The draconic warrior blinked several times, though he finally lowered his sword since he realized it was useless.
"A ghost...? Really?? Well, that won't do... I can't believe humans are haunting monsters even from beyond the grave! So you must be harassing them, then! I'm sure some magicians around must have some books to banish you to Hell for good or something. I'll have to ask. Maybe the werewolf could do that instead of doing some stupid walls..." he said to her, grumbling.
Kevan then stared at Jacoby and Elisa, dumbfounded, when they spilled the beans about why they were looking for the crystal bats.
"Ke... Kehe... KEHEHEHEHEHEHEHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!" he then burst into laughter.
"Ahh... That's a good joke... Human and monsters together? Giving some sacred bats to a human king? Hah!! I almost fell for that one. As if we're going to stand with those filthy primates one day after everything they've done to us... You can tell me you want these bats for yourselves, you know. I'm not going to kill you for that... even though you have to tag along that ugly human ghost of yours." Kevan whizzed as he stopped laughing, wiping out a tear from his eye.
AND I'VE STILL BLOCKED OFF MY BALL!! FUCK!!"Great going, Eleanor," says Melvin. "I'll handle this."
Melvin does his own Puppy-Dog Eyes. They may look strange on a rat, but because he is a good boi, they look much more genuine than Eleanor's.
"Please don't fight each other. We can resolve this peacefully and be friends. Let's save our fighting for the flesh-eating spiders that are all around us in this terrible place. You didn't forget about them, did you? Why, I wouldn't be surprised if there was one right behi-"
Hissssssss! comes an ominous noise from behind the group.
Very good kittyOkay, look, I don't know what's happened to you, but- (Elisa starts to say when there's a sudden hiss from behind the group.)
THEY'RE HERE!! (Jacoby exclaims, leaping about a foot in the air.)
Where?! (Elisa asks, looking around.)
"Hey, least I didn't lose all my artistic talent when I crash landed in the arena here."Crawling down from one of the trees is a spider the size of a car (Our characters wouldn't know what a car is, but you get the idea.) It's black with red stripes, and eight, bright red eyes. Its fangs are dripping with venom, and it looks mad.

Very good kittyThe hiss comes at a very fortunate time, given that Rosamund, at that moment, looked three seconds away from tearing into Kevan - be it literally or verbally. Her dangerous expression not changing at all, she recalls the barrier and whips around the face the spider, ready to reshape the light now dancing in her hands again into whatever form the group most needs.
Hail majestic corporate light, heaven born and ever bright! The strange avioid creature, who at this point has mostly been cowering and quivering in fear, lets out the mimicry of a harsh, guttural screech. It bends down -still visibly afraid, but trying to hide it-, points its beak upwards at the height of the spider's abdomen, and gets ready to charge at the first opportunity.
Welcome To Ideals' World

The bird creature looks at the swamp ahead of them. The smell of rotting plants and the sound of buzzing insects strains its senses. It picks up a small tangle of cobwebs from the ground, pondering on what is ahead.
