Kasugai High - A Delinquents Roleplay

It's late 80s Japan, the bubble economy is booming and it seems almost anything can happen. You are a student at Kasugai High in Kobe in the Hyōgo Prefecture. The school is good and all, it's quite the academic center but there's something else catching your eye.

You're fairly certain the school is wannabe gang territory.

There are delinquents all over the school, the only reason none of them have been expelled is that they get their work in on time... you think. Regular schools have clubs and extracurriculars, here at Kasugai they become gangs!

There are a few notable names but it doesn't stop some people from making their own gang.

The Motorheads are all about cars, taking scrap projects or autoshop rejects and tuning them into big cars. They're among the nicer groups and seem focused on just making loud vehicles and posing with them... you're not even certain how they got their hands on the parts.

The Batters are sports rejects named for their love of sports equipment, they most resemble typical delinquent gangs you may be familiar with. Keep a wide berth from them, if they somehow owe you a favor though, bet on them to try and fulfil it.

The Iron-Age are an odd group, they're supposedly science geeks... science geeks who turned tesla coils into instruments of destruction. They work as sort of the "arms dealers" of the culture around here, since nobody can get their hands on actual weapons... and they seem intent on enforcing "Non lethality".

The Poets are all the language and civics students, only now working as an informant network and diplomats for gang meetings. They're the one group nobody goes after since they're so useful. Just... be careful, they can dig up dirt you don't want dug up.

Occultists are the weirdos into old mythology, lore, and black magic, the weirdest part is that it seems to work... somehow. Listen nobody knows why just avoid pissing them off to avoid a hex. Last week Koji angered an occultist by dumping their materials in the pond, next day he had major IBS right before a big exam, totally flunked. He was eating only dry foods and chicken soup to avoid that!

The Belts is the last big name here. A group of martial artist practitioners who only became a gang after somebody kept trying to force their way into their dojo. We're not certain what they're up to, or if they're related to the occultists cause I swear one of them did a hadoken!

This is a player generated RP based on old 80s-90s episodic anime based around Academies of Adventure. Players will help run 'episodes' of sorts based around being at this school, both during the day and the after hours. It's pretty weeby so best be prepared to embrace your inner weeb.

Oh and you can totally make up your own delinquent gangs if you want.

Name: Sayuri Sakai / Taka Sakai

Gender: Female

Age: 18 / 18

Appearance: Sayuri has on a ripped up black robe with a hood now more like a poncho along with her school uniform and a white eyepatch and white fist wraps, her hair is black with her eyes hazel / Taka wears her school uniform with the sleeves ripped off and wrapping going up to her arms, her hair is black with black eyes.

Gang: Ex-Occultists now. The Batters / The Batters

Personality/History: Sayuri is while, a nice and caring person because of her ego and the want to be seen, to feel like she is important to her family even; to random people, she acts like she is above others with her dark magic / Taka is a patient unbudging fighter acting, as a big sister to all, keeping teams together, and is very much loyal to her friends and very much her sister.

Taka and Sayuri were both born on the same day to a normal; family, Taka was soon seen, as the best child for her best work leaving Sayuri in the shadows without Taka even knowing, making Sayuri feel lesser to her sister and, this grown more when the both of them gone to Kasugai High, Taka joining The Batters to better her strength and learning the way of the baseball bat, where Sayuri joined the Occultists seeing that she was more on the bright side learning about old mythology, lore, and black magic making her feel like she was someone but still seeing her sister was higher with her friend and more.

So one day late in the Occultists room, wanting to be in the top, to no longer be in her shadow a very tired Sayuri made a chalk circle and casting what she thinks was a bad luck hex onto Taka's bat and her but was but a soul transfer having Taka's soul trapped in her bat, where once she goes back and wakes up the next day to her mom and dad yelling to her about the whole bat thing, after the bat itsself talked to her mom and dad and a grounding, Sayuri now brings around her baseball bat sister which made her sister even more known and got her kicked out of the Occultists for what she did where after some talking with Taka got herself now with The Batters.

Skills: Sayuri like the others at Occultists; can use black magic and hexes as well as using "her" chalk to do much more powerful magic, which will take up time and power to use / Taka is a good swinger and a better fighter, with her being strong and having trained with her bat, but after the whole soul trapped in the bat thing, she can give her strength to who holds the bat she is in, as well as coming out of the bat as a soul, can still grab things and talk to people but she's, weak, she is also able to talk to people from inside the bat.

Common items: "Borrowed" Occult Book, Possessed Baseball Bat, Backpack, "Borrowed" School Chalk.

Other: After Taka's soul possessed; her bat, the bat now has Taka's name carved onto the bat, the eyepatch that Sayuri has on is just so she can "look cool to others"

Interesting setup, I'm a little iffy on the soul possessed baseball bat but overall looks pretty neat!

• Gender: Female
• Age: 16
• Appearance: A brown sweater with the logo of the school, thick-ass sqaure glasses, brown hair, green eyes, a yellow headband, a pink purse, a blue skirt.
• Gang: Iron Age, Probably some sort of errand girl.
• Personality/History: A Seemingly-Wholesome '50s Girl, cause she acts kind and nice, but will NOT hesitate to kill a b*tch 39 injured. Also, she has a scary amount of intelligence, her backstory is unknown, except that she was from an unknown western country.
• Skills: Again, analytical to the point it probably scares a lot of people, good at taking notes.
• Common items: A bunch of books, a baseball bat she probably stole from a batter, and a phone. For blackmail.
• Other: She's from another country. Her parents moving of course. Also she has VERY broken japanese, i'll probably translate it to broken english cause i like the idea the characters in-universe are speaking japanese but it got translated in the roleplay or something.(like how anime's get subbed/dubbed)

Interesting setup, I take a bit of issue with the throwing knives and "kill a bitch" attitude as the Iron Age is enforcing a state of non lethality for pragmatic and personal reasons. Dead students cause questions and may cause the authorities to crack down on the school, but making it so somebody can walk off at the end of the day ensures that they can continue getting away with things.

Still looking over the soul possessed bat, a little unclear on what exactly happened. Did she posses the bat?

Yes, her soul is in the bat from the soul transfer but because the bat has no soul it's more of a moving her soul into the bat.

Taka's body is just a body with no soul but not a copse, but unable to put her soul back in it.

Gender: Female

Age: 17

Appearance: Around 165cm tall and thin. Has short black hair, enough to pass for a boy at first glance. She wears a hairpin, which doubles as a lockpick. She keeps her school uniform neatly ironed and starched. Wears an orange armband, showing she's on the student council's public morals committee (like hall monitors in the US). Keeps a good poker face with unreadable dark eyes.

Gang: Poets. She is a double agent infiltrating the student council.

Personality/History: Miki is used to living a double life. To the grown-ups, she is a good student, helping uphold order and stop gang activity as part of the student council. Yet, they don't know she is a spy for the poet gang. At home, she is a Zainichi Korean, proud of her roots. Yet, at school, her ethnicity is a secret to her classmates.

Beneath her unbreakable poker face, however, lies a deep fear and paranoia. After she was bullied in elementary school, she became afraid of other people and vowed not to let that happen again, even at the expense of others. She is always afraid of her lies being discovered and her facade crumbling, which is why she goes out of her way to look like a perfect student. One day, one of the poets approached her, threatening to snitch on her brother, who freelances for the iron age and the motorhead gangs. Worried that she would be kicked out of the public morals committee, she became a spy for the poets in exchange for keeping her brother's shady dealings a secret. As she goes deeper into the underworld of Kasugai High, she is starting to forget how to be honest, how to tell right from wrong, and who she really is.

Skills: Miki has a gift for languages, picking up languages easily. Because of this, she can disguise her voice and her accent, and she uses this to become a very convincing liar. She can disguise her own appearance easily, sometimes even disguising herself as a boy. However, she is horrible at physical fights and is not a fast runner, so she learned to climb walls to escape her foes.

Common items: A Walkman that doubles as a tape recorder, a small polaroid camera, a lockpick disguised as a hairpin, some makeup (for disguising herself), and a boy's school uniform about her size, complete with fake name tags. She also carries a pen and a small pocketbook with the school logo, issued by the student council.

Other: She got the nickname 'unagi' because she can slip out of trouble easily, like an eel.

• Name: Matsuki Kyonori
• Gender: Male
• Age: 16
• Appearance: More or less this. To include a description: Matsuki is a black haired, icy blue eyed Eurasian boy - he's lean, thin, and bizarrely calm in most situations, though there are sometimes cracks in his facade. He dresses in a black button up shirt, black dress pants, and steel toed shoes. Matsuki has a number of scars on his arms, according to him these came from "family disputes". Matsuki has a pair of wings he can either retract - in which case they seem to go inside of a pair of scars on his back - or bring them out. Matsuki's wings look fluffy and angelic, but in actuality, they're barbed, poisonous, and insidiously sharp. This is regarded in his family as a "birth defect".
• Gang: Occultist - technically. His first loyalty is to his family.
• Personality: Matsuki can seem chilly, somewhat distant, and haughty - though the latter is largely a defense mechanism. He's very eager to try and make sure his father isn't displeased with him - and thus does the man's bidding as extensively as possible. Matsuki seems to wish to think he's just being a dutiful son, fulfilling his obligations as part of the family. He's very averse to involving anyone else in Kyonori Family business. Despite his attitude, he's eager to find friends among the Occultists who he might be able to talk to at a later date - when he's more comfortable. He's quite protective of his mother, though never quite enough to stand up to dearest Father...
• History: Matsuki Kyonori is the latest progeny of the wealthy and powerful Kyonori Family of Japan. Operating (among other things) the Pale Radish Hotels, the Kyonori Family is run by the family patriarch - Matsuno Kyonori. Or as some might know him, Wolfang Richler - an infamous magical figure of dubious renown, known for his 1) immortality 2) immaturity and 3) immorality. Matsuno - ever the hotel mogul - has recently opened a hotel near the schools, and is eager to exert his influence. It was apparently his idea that Matsuki join the Occultists, an idea smoothed over by a very generous donation of Yen to the school in question. Officially, Matsuno tries to portray himself as a sponsor, though he remains by and large distant.
• Skills: Matsuki makes use of a rather unusual kind of magic - Magic Music, manipulating elements via a different kind of musical note. He can also use those wings to fly, as well as inflict damage by swiping at people with them, and he can conjure a flaming sword - though his flaming sword causes chill and cold instead of spreading heat.
• Common items: A credit card (being a Kyonori does have SOME advantages), a harmonica, a scarf around his neck, and
• Other: Matsuki has three siblings - Taiyo Kyonori, a young doctor, Shunsu Kyonori, a mercenary, and Rin Kyonori, a policewoman.
