To-do list:
- Move wicks to a trope on the Rant Inducing Slight disambiguation page if they fit, and remove them if they don't. For reference purposes, here's the list of tropes on the disambiguation page:
- Comical Overreacting: Exaggerating one's emotions to an absurdly comedic and wacky degree.
- Law of Disproportionate Response: The importance of an event is inversely proportional to how intensely the characters react to it.
- Rage Breaking Point: A character who has been repressing their anger finally lets it out.

Rage Breaking Point seems to already cover this, TBH.
Mm, yeah, it could probably be merged with Rage Breaking Point without losing too much.
Current Project: Incorruptible Pure PurenessI've thought the trope is about a character going on a lengthy tangent to "explain the uneducated" what's on their mind, often a version of Enraged by Idiocy, Motive Rant (Villainous Breakdown) or Character Filibuster / Motor Mouth.
Merge if it's not and the page can't be rewritten.

TroperWall / WikiMagic CleanupMerge with Rage Breaking Point
Assuming that's a valid trope we could probably yard that.

back lolI am good with merging
Macron's notesI'm on board with merging with Rage Breaking Point, because it feels like the same, but more specific.
^ Any subtrope is the same, but more specific. The question is if the added qualification is clear enough that the result serves a distinct narrative function from the original. It doesn't seem to be the case here.
We're also working out what to do with Berserk Button. Berserk Button right now is supposed to be something minor that characteristically makes someone angry. The misuse of this trope covers anything minor that makes someone angry without it being characteristic. That would still be a trope, so either one should be expanded.
No, the Berserk Button misuse also covers things like threatening/insulting/harming someone’s loved ones, which is normally gonna make them mad and is thus chairs.

One of these days, all of you will accept me as your supreme overlord.I meant the misuse of Rant Inducing Slight. If Berserk Button was expanded, then yes, that particular misuse would have to not be allowed.
Hooked a crowner to get this one out of the way.
You can't always get what you want.I would rather expand this to cover the Berserk Button misuse ("a character overreacts with rage to a relatively minor issue") and make that cleanup easier, with Rage Breaking Point covering the original definition.
However, that could be dangerous if the Berserk Button TRS goes in a contradictory direction.

I do some cleanup and then I enjoy shows you probably think are cringe.Honestly, that thread may just close doing nothing.
Current Project: Incorruptible Pure PurenessI'm against doing that, because it's too soon to figure out how to make cleaning up Berserk Button easier (or how to do its cleanup at all) because its thread hasn't had a crowner yet. The point of that thread is to clean up its definition/description, followed by taking the rest of the work to the cleanup thread.
I've asked if anyone could post options in Berserk Button's thread, because I'm willing to make one if options are suggested.

You can't always get what you want.If we merge this and keep Berserk Button with the same definition, what will we do with examples of one-time disproportionate rage?
Move to Disproportionate Retribution?
One of these days, all of you will accept me as your supreme overlord. Is it retribution if the character just gets angry? It's a disproportionate response but that doesn't mean it does something to another person.
There's plenty of Anger Tropes. Something should fit.
Current Project: Incorruptible Pure PurenessWill there be another rename decision round afterwards? Because the current rename option assumes the trope remains as is.
Crown Description:
Rant Inducing Slight is often misused, and there have been concerns that it's redundant with Rage Breaking Point. What should be done with it?
