Carryover from the recently concluded discussion of Planetary Relocation. This image was just removed, and it was suggested that it might be a better image for Planet Spaceship than the current.

The current image, of the Magog Worldship, is clearly a megastructure involving planets and a star, but it's hard to tell that it's a self-propelled megastructure:

Seldom has 'starship' been so literal... or insufficient.

Opened. The current’s pretty weak but the suggestion illustrates the title, not the trope. It’s about spaceships that are as large as planets.

[up]Not necessarily, it includes instances like Zonama Sekot from Star Wars Legends where they strapped huge engines onto an actual planet.

A spaceship made of a planet is indeed also a spaceship the size of a planet, but I don't think it's a good idea for both the title and the page image to suggest that's the only thing it refers to.

Hmm... not using planet shaped space ships kinda limits options, but here's a couple:

Galactus' spaceship.

Independence Day: Resurgence

[up]The ID4:R ship might work, but that's not a great angle, it's a little too hard to tell it isn't just a really big construction attached to the planet.

Another idea:

Well, it's not as big as that planet, but that's a gas giant.

This could also work. I'll message the creator to see if we can get permission.

Update on permission for 9: No response on either DA or Facebook (the artist does not appear to have been active on DA since 2018 or so). I just sent an email to the artist's posted Gmail account.

Well, it's time to call this one. I'll pull the current, this up on the Pages awaiting permission thread, tag the page for this thread, and lock up...
