Chapter 174. After managing to get the situation sorted out (not before Yukishiro gets a little more bullied from a most unexpected source) the gang finally gets the information out of her; that she's being extorted. Also it's finally revealed that Yukishiro didn't want or need to kill Momo, she was merely instructed to steal her powers. The chapter ends on that revelation.
So, Jiji still has feelings for Momo, or maybe saying still is the wrong way of putting it, but he obviously likes her. Of course how could he know about her and Okarun's status when even those two aren't entirely sure on it themselves. If this were any other manga I'd feel that this would be contrived for drama, but having seen how Dandadan handles things I'm not worried about how it will go. Interesting that Queen Sensei developed spiritual awareness just from going to exorcisms and haunted places, and all for the sake of her students too.
The fact that Yukishiro can't remember who even gave her the knife beyond knowing that they're a teacher pretty much clinches that it's the Count of Saint Germain. So far out of anyone that knows about him only Turbo Granny seems to have a history, and she's not with the gang right now so it's not like she can point out that there's a wolf in their midst.
Regarding Aira and the Acrobatic Silky: They clearly seem to have interpreted Aira as actually having been the human-who-became-Silky's daughter, whereas the impression that I got from the English manga chapter was that Silky's daughter disappeared into the human trafficking trade and Aira was just a Replacement Goldfish. Unless that was something that was Lost in Translation?
ETA: NVM, looks like I jumped the gun.

Trust me, I'm an engineer!I'd probably wait until the end of the next episode before making a judgment on that. The flashback seems to imply that Aira notices Silky shortly after Silky died, a death which coincided with the death of Aira's own mother. Just a somewhat cruel little twist of a woman who lost a daughter and a little girl who lost a mother finding each other if only for a moment.
Jiji's always been a staunch defender of other people if he feels they deserve it, just like how he defended Vamola when they thought she was a traitor and Evil eye because he was sympathetic to his backstory so I don't really like reducing his kindness to his crush. He's just a good dude like that.
I'm actually of the view that it doesn't quing clinch it yet because of the odd choice of obscuring who she was talking to. Saint Germain being a shady manipulative memory altering power stealing person has been established so still hiding him from the obvious feels strange in that case. It feels similar to how they used "strange woman" to trick people on the Silky reveal.

I absolutely cannot help but adore handsome 2D boysI'd feel a little less sure about it if they hadn't also done the same thing with the interaction between the Count and Zuma. They've been kind of cagey with showing the Count interacting with other people besides the main cast. Now I'm not saying it couldn't be the case. Hell maybe there's multiple Counts even? I can't discount the possibility. But the most straightforward answer seems to be that people just can't remember him.
That bit where the nurse slapped Kouki for "being a scoundrel pretending to be a weakling" made me laugh harder than it probably should have, but that sort of Mood Whiplash is one of the reasons I like this manga.
"I squirm, I struggle, ergo I am. Faced with death, I am finally, truly alive."So, for the new manga chapter, I enjoyed the bait-and-switch with Queen, since the way she was sharing how she got spiritual awareness, as well as the slow reveal of Kouki's lies was looking like an emotional moments... and then Dandadan Dandadaned, and we got a hilarious slap. That, and the gnomes just sitting next to Kouki gives me further hope for my plea.
Also, did they leave Kinta in the empty space? He is nowhere to be seen in the last pages (the class president is there instead), and the idea of them forgetting him is kunda funny; and, who knows, maybe he will wake up still there and find out something plot relevant by accident.
I mean....yes I know that. That's why it doesn't surprise me when the characters mentioning Junji's recounting is framed as a shadow. I mostly meant the locker scene which is set in the present and isn't the character's recollection of an incident.

I absolutely cannot help but adore handsome 2D boysAnime episode seven. God, that was hard to watch, which admittedly was supposed to be the point. It's about as well handled as something going over a situation like that can be. They make a couple of things ever so slightly less explicit - like in the manga a panel shows a john pulling up his pants as the mother takes the envelope of bills, likewise the manga chapter ends with her doing the dive off of a roof rather than it being abstract although still obvious - but it certainly didn't dilute the impact any. One thing I do sort of wish they kept in is that as Silky is finally able to find peace, she's shown hand-in-hand with her daughter. The implication is obvious, so I don't know if that's why they didn't choose to include it, or if it was for some other reason.
The scene at the start of episode 7 was quite anxiety inducing, which is a great way to start the episode, considering how it goes. You have some fun action during the first part of the episode (that headbutts was great), but then Aira dies, and the takes a very different turn. Just the cries of fear of human-Sily's daughter were truly gut-punching, and made it hit harder than I expected (and I was prepared to tear up a bit). Truly a beautiful episode.
Absolutely beautiful episode. I literally cried. This isn't what I signed up for, thank you very much.
Does the manga ever say what happened to the daughter?

Regarding your spoilered question, I don't think the manga ever says. However, that image in the manga of Acrobatic Silky and her daughter walking hand-in-hand into whatever lies beyond might imply that the daughter is also dead, if you go with the grimmer interpretation.

"I squirm, I struggle, ergo I am. Faced with death, I am finally, truly alive."Huh, I'm honestly a bit surprised that people were confused by that. I thought it was pretty clear that Aira is not Silkys daughter.
In any case, Dandadan is living up to the hype. Just over halfway through the season and already two total standout episodes, ep. 4 in terms of spectacle and now 7 for genuine drama.

Really, really wishful thinking. "The human traffickers sold her to a nice, not perverted man who just wanted a daughter for his dying wife, and nothing bad happened to either of them ever again."
I know because that was where my mind went when I was trying to come up with ways for something not terrible to have happened to the daughter.

The way things are presented the timeline is VERY vague, however the flashbacks kind of look like scenes from the 80s or 90s. While it's not a long time for a yokai like Turbo Granny, we have to realize that's still almost 30 to 40 years at this point. A LOT of things, a lot of bad things, could have happened to the daughter in that time period.
Chapter 175. Yukishiro explains a little about how stabbing someone with one of the knives steals their power, but there's more to it than that she's forgotten. It was also her getting stabbed with one of the knives that let her see the pygmies. Yukishiro doesn't actually like the pygmies very much ... but Queen Sensei explains that they're descendants of a people that were driven underground, and that what they want more than anything else is just to be acknowledged. Likewise, they're pulling for Yukishiro since she can see them, and helping her out all they can.
None of the pygmies know of a way to return Momo to normal size. Then, wooo boy, turns out that Aira might have inadvertently been responsible for Yukishiro's spiral since she's the one that beat her in a subsequent piano competition after losing to her the first time. Being beaten by Aira and Aira's none too subtle rubbing salt in the wound at the time is what caused Yukishiro to abandon playing. It's played more for humour than for drama it seems, but who knows if this might lead to the two butting heads down the line.
Oh and Kinta has been on scene the entire time, but he's laying down with his face wrapped up because of how hard Queen Sensei hit him.

They picked a really fitting voice actor for our new antagonist. I definitely believe that she's definitely going to do that particularly tragic flashback scene justice.
