Hey, we're getting Synchro Festival next week.

Played against a fellow Sky Striker player yesterday. They were obviously new to the deck if not the game since they kept using card effects in a suboptimal way and had a deck of 55 cards.
The duel was still fun since I haven't used my Sky Striker deck in a while and I figured they might learn something. TOO BAD I KEEP GETTING DISCONNECTS.
Don't catch you slippin' now. What the heck is this destroy monsters by battle thingy? Is that some sort of new mechanic? You'd think they'd make a bigger deal out of something that seems so incredibly difficult to do.
Got lucky when I pulled from the new Synchro pack and got Barrone, so I pulled the trigger on Speedroids. I've always wanted to toy with them. Still fun to try and figure out the lines of each deck. Granted this one certainly isn't optimal without its Link, not to mention I don't have all the big Wind Synchros, but I've been doing well beating up non-meta threats at least. Hi-Speedroid Kitedrake is a beast.

Eh, even if there's problems with the actual balancing Eldlich being banned makes me happy.
Always hate when I run into them, becomes a game of "Did I draw Paleozoic Dinomischus, Feather Duster, Macro Cosmos or Thunder Dragon Discharge if I'm using my Thunder Dragon deck to start with or on turn 2?" / "Do they have Skill Drain already set to counter if I try to use BLS to banish Eldlich?"
Haven't been able to play the event yet but I heard it's kind of awful. You either run one of three combo decks (Virtual World, Speedroid, Junk Speeder turbo) or True Draco with all the floodgates in existence, and the person who goes first just wins. True Draco is also kind of inexpensive to build. I actually like True Draco because I'm awful and might resort to using them.
Kind of a shame since I really liked the N/R Event, even if it was a bit flawed.

I combined my usual Zombie World deck with Mayakashis and it's been the best of both worlds so far- I get to disrupt combos decks with ease, and True Dracos outright can't play the game as long as Zombie World is up.
It's kind of an odd event, by nature a vast majority of Synchro archetypes Special Summon and combo a lot (Synchrons, Flower Cardians, etc.) but that also means pretty much every deck dies to either floodgates or the usual hard counters like Ash, Droll, and especially Nibiru. So more than past events you have a huge divide between people who want to play it as intended with the combo-focused Synchro archetypes and people who want to cheese with archetypes that can ignore the event's restrictions entirely; either way the player that loses is usually the one that didn't get an uninterrupted combo first.
🏳️⚧️she/her | Vio Rhyse AlberiaI don't think there's a problem with me going full combo Speedroid, getting hit by Nibiru, and still managing to end on Barrone. Also had a fun game where Synchron gave me 20 cards off of Maxx C, so I had the easiest Droplet in the world. Somehow I've even been stomping True Draco. Skill Drain? Still got enough hand and graveyard effects to summon bug numbers and just swing in.
Liking the event so far, but it reminds me of the time the game got a bit ridiculous with summoning a bunch of monsters on one turn. I think that is slightly less nowadays even after the new master rules removed the extra deck monster limitations, but it is ironic how the monsters with a speed/turbo theme often take the longest to get out whether through chain summoning or the player trying to calculate the needed levels.
Don't catch you slippin' now.So I'm awful.
I built my True Draco deck and have been running it with 0 losses. On a recent game I opened with Solemn Judgment, two Solemn Strike, Pot of Duality, and Card of Demise in my hand. I end on a board with those negates, a monster, Skill Drain, and some other backrow. I kind of wish my opponent had done something before surrendering.
Edit: I actually had a legit fun duel against an Endymion player. We went 11 turns and both got down to the wire in LP (me mostly from paying costs lol). Sadly couldn't save the replay because I'm capped and you can't overwrite any from the results screen.

Small indie company, please understand.
Even if they want to let full power Rhongo Bhongo, VFD, and Herald of Drytron go free for awhile longer you'd think they'd try to deal with obnoxious FTK garbage. They've already dealt with similar decks in the festivals.
