Welp finished Chapter 4 and the beginning of Chapter 5 now and a lot of things happened: first, Rusty is in the imposing side of Arquebus; second, after a tough battle with Ibis, we are sent to re-education by V.II Snail; third, Walter's plan is to reignite the Fires of Ibis since the Coral will continue to multiply and will potentially be more dangerous than ever.
And now for some character dynamics with Mikoto I made up:
- Carla: I do think that Mikoto didn't trust Carla at first, but after some time, she came to view Carla as the sister she should have had. Carla teases her, tests her skills and through it all cares for Mikoto's wellbeing.
- V.II Snail: Mikoto never trusted that slimy bastard from the start.
- Middle Flatwall: After defeating V.VIII Pater and V.V Hawkins, Mikoto definitely started to admire Flatwell for his determination and hard work.
- Chatty: Mikoto loves Chatty for how nice he is and how she can be happy around him. She views him like a older brother, only more...metalic.
- The OG Raven: Mikoto feels inferior to OG Raven (whom I'll call Yun here as my headcanon) even after defeating him. She is rather jealous but intrigued by his resolve and his ability to be free from others command (his commander not with standing).
So I was looking at some vids showcasing mods featuring Nine-Ball or builds that try to get recreate Nine-Ball. And while they looked cool, the comments on said vids also pointed out something interesting.
While this game also has an AI as the major antagonist, ALLMIND has a goal that is the opposite of the goals of the original AI antagonist H-1 (the "pilot" of Nine-Ball). The former wants to use Coral to elevate and guide humanity, while H-1 wanted to protect humanity by keeping it stagnant and maintaining a status quo.
Disgusted, but not surprisedA question to some veteran AC fans.
A while back, a troper was bounced for being a ban evader but before they were discovered, they made extensive edits on the main Armored Core page. The one I'm focusing is the one about Generations. Is there any official confirmation from Fromsoft about the games being separated by Generations or is that what fans call them?

There is no official backing of the generations trend by FromSoftware, if that's what you mean. The concept is purely made by the fandom, but greatly helps in distinguishing story continuities between game releases and platform leaps. Most of the time, a new numbered title signifies either a reboot or an indirect sequel away from the games that quickly release after the preceding numbered title. "Gen. 3" is the most confusing one due to being on the same platform (PlayStation 2) as Gen. 2 games, but is actually a straight up reboot of the franchise. Gen. 4 is another reboot, while Gen. 5 is a distant Stealth Sequel of Gen. 4. Armored Core VI: Fires of Rubicon can be considered as a reboot and the starting point of "Gen. 6" since it's clearly unrelated to previous games despite sharing similar story beats.

"They played us like a DAMN FIDDLE!" — Kazuhira Miller, Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom PainI've been tweaking Mikoto's backstory on my personal sandbox since I find troping my characters easy to give me an idea on what to do with them.
She/Her | Currently cleaning: N/AThe Linear Rifles are pretty good at stunning targets and doing damage at range, not to mention have a good ammo capacity. Try bringing one along, it might help.
As for speed builds? Been too long since I last played for me to remember specific parts and such but my build during that mission wasn't even that speedy; I was using my usual all-rounder build which was a quad-legged AC with the Linear rifle, a back-mounted missile launcher, melee weapon and the Songbird grenade launcher, and it worked out fine.
Oh, and that bit regarding the cruise missiles striking the tower can be cheesed somewhat if you deploy the barrier shield in front of the Xylem tower. It won't catch all of them but it'll certainly help.
Buy the Pulse Protection expansion in OS Tuning and deploy it in front of the suicide drones' trajectory; they'll blow up as soon as they touch the sphere. That just requires you to know the exact moment the drones show up and fly at the right altitude to deploy the Pulse Protection so it can catch most of them. You can also intercept several with a single Assault Armor burst since they're bunched up together, or you can simply float around with a tetrapod-legged AC.
"They played us like a DAMN FIDDLE!" — Kazuhira Miller, Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom PainYet another balance patch is out. Much smaller this time, just a few balance changes and bug fixes, no new parts or anything.
Finally got a chance to play AC 6. So far I'm enjoying the gameplay loop a few hours into it. I've completed a few missions in Chapter 1 and I've climbed the Wall. But I find the options for AC customization a bit overwhelming.
Currently my go-to setup is a mostly Medium build armed with the first available Linear Rifle, the Pulse Blade that's part of your starting gear, the initial missile pack, and the plasma missile pack on the left shoulder. I've also unlocked the Weapons Bay and the first Assault Armor OS upgrades. My favorite weapon so far is the Pulse Blade. Despite being a starter weapon it's incredibly reliable.
Disgusted, but not surprised
The best part about the customization in this game is that parts are bought and sold at the same price, so you never have to worry about being locked in with a specific build and needing to farm to create another. If the weapons you just got don't feel like they suit you, you're free to just sell them and buy another weapon, so you're completely free to experiment with your builds without having to worry too much about your budget.
