Hello, this is the forum on the upcoming MCU Film, Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. Does anyone have any thoughts on the film?

I've come from the future.

I would highly recommend it.

I know about the future, but I am now confused about the second one.

I thought we were going to keep MOM discussion in the No Way Home Thread for a little while to avoid spoiling people?

Since the trailer has been released publicly, there isn't much to talk about for this film that would specifically be a spoiler for No Way Home.

But then, that said, there isn't much to talk about regarding this film period, which makes me think this thread might be a bit too early.

Is there an issue with threads existing too early? I imagine I might struggle to find this thread when we do have things to talk about.

Only that it's probably going to go largely unused until we have more to talk about.

Yeah, it'll just be a bit of a lull until the next trailer, which I guess will be at March or April.

[up] I'd say literally either the last week of March or the first week of April. Movie comes out May 6th and Marvel loves revving up the media hype train a month before release.

I guess what happened with Widow made that relatively easy to forget.

I have a question is Mads Mikkelsen confirmed for this film because its on his page.

Did I have to spoil this out? I am unsure.

That hasn't been confirmed yet, and probably isn't going to be. It should be cut from his page in any event.

I remember there being an article saying he'd be back, but that turned out to be an error. Haven't heard anything else about that, I'd say remove it.

Gone.

Yeah, I noticed the film was linked on a lot of pages based on rumors like Tom Hiddleston, MCU: Loki (Variant L1130), and MCU: Peggy Carter. All these based off of unconfirmed rumors to my knowledge. It is something that I saw happen with No Way Home before it released as well.

Well, Loki was confirmed by at least one source a while back, but Peggy has not.

I do see Kaicelius coming back at some point, since the end of the first movie implied that he had been turned into a Mindless One.

Idle speculation is one thing, but things shouldn't be added to a work or actor's page until they've been confirmed by a reputable source, like one of the big three trades.

[up]I've seen people mention Loki a number of times, but where/when was that confirmed?

[up][up] Where was this confirmed? Like I looked for hours and could only find rumors.

Just in time for the Big Game Super Bowl, we have a brand new trailer featuring surprises and further looks at America Chavez and Rintrah.

Also, really glad to see some more allusions to WandaVision here.

[up][up] Well if people were guessing that X-Men will be featured in every single MCU property, eventually they'd be right. Though given the nature of the film this could be more of a prelude to their proper introduction featuring a Foxverse or Foxverse-ajacent Professor X as part of some sort of Multiversal council.

Do you think the "rule-breaking" that opened the multiverse really was the botchered spell from No Way Home? Wong authorized him to do it after all, so it didn't seem to be forbidden to that level; it only became such a problem because Peter wanted more time to save the villains and Goblin destroyed the artefact that would revert the spell.

oh hey how are you doing?

He was clearly reluctant about it, but I'm willing to be it wasn't the spell, so much as the spell, Goblin botching the spell, and the other spell being used to fix it, and the cumulative effect that brings. Wong is clearly talking about opening doorways to universes, which pretty much describes to a t what Strange inadvertently did in No Way Home.

Hard to say. I mean, let's not forget that before all the COVID shuffling, Multiverse of Madness would've come out before No Way Home.
