I think some of Diana's non mythical rogues are interesting, at least in concept, but I feel some of them make more sense for certain other heroes.

Though I do find it funny that Blue Snowman predates all of DC's other ice-themed villains.

[up][up]Yes, since having Diana's modern rogues would probably require more introduction, I can see the game using mythological characters first (which would already be expected by the audience due to the setting) and then developing her mundane side cast, like showing how Cheetah became who she is. Doctor Octopus or the Joker are relatively well-known in the mainstream, but Wonder Woman's original rogues would probably have more focus on their introduction for the audience.

I imagine the game having some god of war style gameplay

I figure we're seeing some named characters in the splash. Not quite sure who they could be though, if they're not Original Generation.

You are not alone.

In light of this, there is some concern among fans about this game.

And similar to the leaders in the industry, we've led with multiple key franchises, each of which is $1 billion gaming property. Harry Potter, Game of Thrones, DC, which is mainly Batman today, and Mortal Kombat, whose most recent release, Mortal Kombat 1 has sold nearly 3 million copies since its launch in mid-September. So we've got the proven IP and franchises, the world class studios and publishing talent and we intend to continue to invest more capital and more resources into the business.

Our focus is on transforming our biggest franchises from largely console and PC based with three-four year release schedules to include more always on gameplay through live services, multiplatform and free-to-play extensions with the goal to have more players spending more time on more platforms. Ultimately we want to drive engagement and monetization of longer cycles and at higher levels. We have put specific capabilities. We are currently under scale and see significant opportunity to generate greater post purchase revenue.

Feel this may be be based on Tue invasion of Themsyrica. Would allow then to use the full rogues gallery as bad guys. And explain the whole take control of an army vs army thing they seem to be going for

Wonder Woman job listing suggests it'll be a live service game

Monolith's Wonder Woman was announced during 2021's The Game Awards, where it was described a single-player open-world action game. As spotted by Wccftech, however, a recent advert seeking a 'Lead Software Engineer, Gameplay' for the title on Monolith's website has hinted that Warner Bros. may be looking to incorporate live service elements.

The ad, which talks of helping to "deliver a superhero experience as epic as Wonder Woman herself", includes a list of daily duties associated with the job, alongside essential experience. The relevant part for this story, though, is listed under "nice to haves", wherein Monolith indicates "experience helping maintain a live software product or game" will be beneficial.

I'm gonna be optimistic and hope that means they just want to supply a steady stream of expansion campaigns after release.

It's kind of sad the most representation Wonder Woman has in gaming is her Injustice self.

[up]Mind you, that game series also has a more typical depiction of Diana in the first game.

Yeah but her regular self is not in the 2nd game which is a bit more relevant.

The sand thing is this isn't the first time Monolith has to potential deal with bullshit by WB.

The previous was Shadow of War. Which was still a pretty good game in spite of the bullshit so hopefully that's the case here too.

The Moment it said Live Service, I'm sorry, but its dead.

Rocksteady may as well be dead when their Suicide Squad Game comes out, and its essentially a Live Service game too.

More of them need to bomb to get Studio Execs to realize that its not sustainable. the Live Service Bubble is close to bursting, as even Fortnite is dwindling over time, and it basically started Live Services as a trend.

Yes, it was originally gonna be Live Service as well, but it was scrapped, with tons of the elements still being in the final product.

That is a Golden Age Superman style leap.

You're extrapolating a whole lot from a single job ad.

That just says it would be "nice" and not required, for a potential applicant to have experience with, among other things, maintaining a live service game.

As others pointed out, Shadow of War had elements of that, and did just fine.

Only after people complained about it that WB got rid of the live service shop in said game.

Its rather simple, really.

Yeah, exactly. Meaning they changed it, and made it better.

That's quite a bit different from simply saying "this game is dead." (that's also ignoring how ludicrous it is to say Fortnie started live services)
