Ah right...... unfortunate overall.

Poor Leia, her final resting place being a rats ass desert she never stepped foot on.

[up]

She did step foot on it. Once. And got put into a humiliating outfit by Jabba.

Nevermind that her other experience with Tatooine was having her ship boarded by Vader above the planet.

Though if you take Revenge of the Sith metaphorically, it's entirely possible Anakin was created by Palpatine manipulating the midiclorians.

So Rey is Luke and Leia's cousin.

Which makes the Reylo worse.

I mean, where else is Rey going to bury Leia's lightsaber?

The floating space rubble of Alderann?

Where was Luke and Leia born?

Like in the ship in the atmosphere above Mustafar or Naboo?

Polis Massa is the name of the station. It was on a gigantic asteroid. I only remember because it was a stage in the original Battlefront 2.

Random tangent: do you guys think we'll see Daniel Logan at some point in this show? It kind of hit me that while years ago people were wondering if we would see Logan as a Young Boba Fett in a series, he would actually work nowadays in a flashback to Boba a few years before, in his Empire / Jabba days.

Amusingly, Book of Boba Fett Boba isn't that old (he's, what, late thirties? Early forties?). Sarlacc juice really ages a person.

Daniel Logan is credited on the show, along with a stand in for him. The footage of Boba as a child appears to be split between archive footage from Episode II and a few new shots with a double.

Tatooine is where people go to age extra decades fast. Obi-Wan and the Lars’s came out looking like grandparents despite only being in their 50s.

Daniel Logan would have to be playing Young Boba Fett during the rise of the Empire given his age now. The middle point between PT and OT would however require a means to transition Daniel Logan to Teruma Morrison perfectly since the two are obviously not identical.

I mean Daniel Logan as an adult, acting in new scenes.

[up] Daniel Logan is 34. Boba as he is now is only a couple years older than he is.

There's a good argument the Kaminoans were giving Jango complete bullshit about no genetic tampering since all clones probably look like Temuera now.

Either that or the real Boba wandered off one day and they substituted one of the Clone Trooper kids.

Boba's definatly aging slower than the clones, who looked to be at the same point as Boba is now ten years prior during the early rebellion. But the argument could be made that the cloning isn't perfect and Boba is aging faster than a normal human would.

(I half expect Cody to turn up in the Obi Wan mini series plaid by Morrison)

But I think the argument is meant to be that he only looks this old because the Sarlaac melted his skin off.

I mean, even aside from that, the guy led a life of violence and death.

That tends to age you faster.

Yeah, Lama Su outright said Boba had not been altered like other clones. No genetic tampering, no mental conditioning to make him more docile, no accelerated growth.

I really like all the Tusken stuff in this show. Instead of a Boba Fett show I almost wish they just did a Tatooine show, now. Showing us the Tuskens the Jawas and the moisture farmers etc and their interactions.

As for the Mighty Whitey trope, I think it also helps that the badass dark Tusken is shown to master the swoop bike. Both learn from each other and end up being stronger due to it.

It does help that Boba is only okay at anything he learns from the Tuskans, and some Tuskans manage to surpass him on things he teaches them.

I do feel like Tattooween is going to be really overexposed in Star Wars Cannon once the Obiwan mini series comes out, and I'd like the focus to go elsewhere after that, but I am enjoying this at this point.

It's possible that the Obi Wan series might end up less bound to Tattooine than this one - if Vader/Anakin does appear then either that happened elsewhere or there's going to be more flashback story telling which opens it up to other settings, with Kenobi on Tattooine as only a framing device.

Theoretically anyway.

A theory I’ve heard regarding the Kenobi show and its possible connection to this one is it might adapt the scene from the comics where Obi-Wan battled Black Krrsantan.

Anyway, here’s a little fan short imagining if Star Wars movies ended like Marvel movies.

Imagine promising a sequel in 38 years.

I just watched the first episode. Very entertaining.

Something that immediately came to mind for me in terms of Temuera Morrison's Boba is this comment Taika Waititi made about modeling his character Korg on Maori bouncers who were soft-spoken and genial (but not someone you'd want to mess with). And there's also a Maori character along these lines in Mike Brooks' sci fi novel Dark Run, who became a mellow Martial Pacifist after a violent and troubled youth.

So, with that background it really makes sense to me that an older and wiser Boba would act like the one in the show.

Also, it makes for some good Divergent Character Evolution as a contrast with Din Djarin, who is distinctly less friendly (although ironically, also more heroic than Boba).

Well they've made Tatooine the focus because the Mandalorian benefited from the heavy focus on the Western elements of Star Wars.

I do think the argument that they've hit their quota on 'guy in a desert' shows is a fair one. Can the next one be a political drama on Naboo or something? [lol]
